Model: XBR 49X800E I don't know what it is called, but any time on screen menus or subtitles come up, the screen goes more grey and loses vividness. I have been messing with settings and tried a couple for "Advm Contrast Enhancer" suggested on Sony forums but no luck.
Infuriates me when playing my computer on my TV or watching shows/movies with subtitles
Has anybody else had this issue? I’ve tried all the usual methods to fix it but no luck (restarting, unplugging, factory reset). The sound still plays when it goes black and picture turns on every time I turn the tv on but goes black after about 30secs
I have absolutely set my mind on buying this tv, whether its today or months away.
I got a deal from an authorized seller with 1 year full warranty for $2400.
Should I proceed with the purchase or wait till Fall?
The uncertainty comes from the idea of buying it now for this price, when it might hit a lower price later once the new line up gets released. Also I’m unsure of this, as this year’s line up doesn’t seem to have any OLED tvs, keeping the Mark 8 ii as the premium Sony flagship OLED tv at least till next year’s line up release, which might not allow its price to be cut like their other tvs (Bravia 8, Bravia 9, Bravia 7, etc.)
If by waiting till Fall I’ll be saving something like $200, I don’t feel its worth the wait and I’m leaning towards the buy rn option.
What do you guys think?
Hat jemand eine Idee, wie es schaffen kann, dass die FB vom Bravia 8 NICHT das Apple TV steuert? Aktuell passieren da nämlich im Hintergrund komische Sachen, während ich doch nur am TV selbst durch die Menüs gehen will…:-(
So I recently bought a Bravia 8 back in March and I’ve been having flickering issues once every 5 days maybe. Granted it just happened a second time just 10 mins ago. It fixes itself after “restarting” the tv. Has anyone else experienced this? Nothing specific seems to be triggering it.

I’m looking at new TVs and this one stumped me. Microcenter had a $1000 off ($1,300) deal for a Sony factory refurbished 77” Bravia 8 and Costco is selling a 65” Bravia for $1600.
Costco has their 5 year warranty included in the price. Micro center offers a 3 year no questions asked warranty for $280 which I bought. Bringing them both to essentially the same price. I haven’t it picked up from Mucrocenter yet so I’m not locked into either. We bought a big ol costco couch so our viewing distance is around 14-15 feet. In this scenario would you guys recommend size or reliability more?
The tv is a 65xh9505 it turn on as normal but after a minute it turns off. I managed to get to the diagnostic menu and this came up. I have change the LD board and doing the same. Is the anything different that can me done to clear the fault?
An associate at my local Best Buy says whenever they get the updated Bravia 9ii they will sell the display model - the 85 inch. It’s been running 12 hours a day on max brightness in vivid mode for 2 years.
What would be a reasonable price to buy it for given its condition? $2000 USD? I would have to buy it with the Best Buy extended warranty for peace of mind. I’ve been eyeing this for months.
Hi all - I'm going to purchase a Bravia 8-ii 55" for my apartment living room, and I'm thinking about adding in the Theater Bar 8 along with it.
I'm not a huge audiophile and realistically I'm watching youtube, playing PS5, and occasionally watching Netflix/HBO. I've got an apartment and so I'm not wanting to add a subwoofer, as I'm concerned it will disturb my neighbors - similarly I'm not planning to add surround speakers, as I want to keep it simple.
My goal is simply to have decent sound...
Does anyone here have the Theater Bar 8 and how is it with the Bravia 8-ii? Is it worth getting / would you recommend it? Does the center sync add anything? Would a different sound bar be better?
For reference in the past I had a Samsung TV that died after about 8 years, and it was paired with a Samsung HW-MS750 soundbar (which still works).

My 75” B9 is on its way and would like to get the most out of the TV when it arrives. It will be wall mounted in our bright living room and will mostly be used for streaming and occasionally sports. Any advice on settings and accessories (e.g specific soundbar, Apple TV, any specific HDMI cables, picture and sound settings)?

I have a 77 Bravia 8 and hoping to sell it next month. I see that its going for 2999 USD 77 inch size. Is 1700 to 1800 a fair price for this set with a 5 year warranty.
I just prefer LGs oleds over Sonys, this is the reason for selling.
I bought a movie on YouTube and noticed it plays in Game Mode. The YouTube app is installed on the TV. I can't figure out how to switch it to Professional Mode like all my other non-DV content. There doesn't appear to be an option to switch out of Game Mode. Anyone have any pointers? Thanks in advance.
