Knitted this Sophie scarf twice, first time was in the dark blue with the built-in i-cord edge. Got to the end and decided I would prefer the edging in a different color and frogged the whole thing. Second time around, followed the original pattern minus the additional stitches for the built-in I-cord, then used this tutorial to create the applied i-cord.

Very happy with how it turned out! Only downside is that there is very clearly a “right” and “wrong” side. You can see in the third picture (wrong side) the places where I picked up a stitch along the edge. Aside from that, applied I-cords are slower to knit relatively speaking; or maybe my DPNs just suck 😆

Hi! i’m making sophie scarves for christmas and just started knitting. i’m using 4.5 mm needles and i’m wondering if i should move down a needle size and also if the slightly wonky increase/decrease edges will block out

It’s for my mother’s birthday! Ignore the ends—haven’t woven them in yet.
