I would like to hear your own opinion the story's power system throughout the series but as for my own, I have given up on it being as good as it was in the start.
My favorite parts of douluo are almost always the first half of the story, before the mc hits lvl 50. At that stage they tend to be alot more creative with their powers, like tang san tripping people with grass, slowing people down with parasites so he can use hidden weapons against superhumans. There is also hu yuhao being largely in a support role with limited super moves that always came with a cost. Tang wulin was consistently the least versatile among his friends, he could hit hard but not much else and that made his character more interesting because he had to rely on his team.
There are still issues at this stage. Douluo tends to focus very heavily on video game like elements instead of letting the powers work like they should in. For example why was tang san limited to 3 nets a day, its not using 1/3 of his soul power per shot otherwise he would be near useless in a drawn out fight. But again, losing soul power doesnt ever seem to effect characters which makes very little sense. There is little to no martial arts in douluo which again makes little sense seeing as most people dont have soul power and tool martial souls would easily beat beast souls if they had any level of proper training, extra range in melee fights is stupid op.
The elements also make no sense the more I think about them. The ones I remember off the top of my head are, fire, water, earth, wind, life, destruction, space, dark, light, strength, defense, evil, luck? They have little to no connection to each other and are just, all over the place. This isnt even taking into account the ultimate elements, the only 2 that makes sense is fire and ice(hot and cold) because thats a measurable power. Ultimate ice is extreme cold and vice versa. But what is ultimate earth? Space, luck, gold? Earth doubled is just more earth. I liked it better when there was less elements and a smart spirit master could actually beat a more talented person.
The more the story goes on the more xiaogang's bull about trash martial souls is just hypocrisy. Not a single time does a person with a "trash" martial soul beat someone with more talent than them, not once. Tang san? Literally one of if not the best plant martial soul. Hu yuhao? Body martial souls can start a bit weak but have a build in second awakening, and his are eyes( literally one of the strongest possible in that category). Tang wulin? With how much dragon bloodline is in his body his grass its not even blue silver anymore. And let's not get started on the 4th mc who i could not name or care about(i couldn’t read pass the first few chapters) but I do know his grass is literally the most op of all the mc so far.
I liked douluo better when it was a story where skills and being smart actually mattered in a fight.

I was reading mostly brain rot with typical chinese mc so didn't care much bout tang san(just didn't like him,cared more bout cultivation system and world tbh)
Recently, i read some fics out of curiosity and saw how much villified tang san was, then reread DD outta curiosity,(this happened like 2 years ago, mostly skimmed through the novel tho)
Imma write a bunch of shit showing what I remember:
Tang San: DD1
Dude stole his sect's cultivation techniques( I think he was in wuxia world, and stealing this thing there means creating a life-death feud+ this guy was orphan and prob raised by sect and when found committed suicide)(it's not like they were gonna leave him alive tho)
Outside the gate of his elementary academy, guy was going to kill a guard cuz he was an ass. So imma ignore that killing someone for ego(only verbal abuse)is already stupid, but here our protag was also either stupid or ungrateful.
Why stupid, dude has zero idea what kinda supernatural powers exist, has no background(in his eyes). So this dude just lost temper over ego, and was gonna frame that village chief(also this framing is also stupid)(what was he supposed to do after the guard died, escape from source of info? Frame village chief? What if he was caught and enforcers searched his body cuz he surely didn't have personal space storage+ this would be taken seriously for obvious reasons) Remember, this guy is supposed to be raised by assassin sect(or atleast had sufficient training from it), not some lil kid.
3.(No complete sure bout this) Didn't tang san knew about xiao wu being soul beast, then why tf did he allow her to participate in Continental tournament(like why take such big risk with her life). Either dude didn't like xiao wu and cared more bout soul bones (unlikely imo) or just another case of stupidity. (Ig you can classify this as love?)
Tang Hao: DD1
Whole Tang San childhood shit, like little dude had to cook his own food by like 3-4 yrs. After martial soul Awakening, dude only first showed love to TS when he saw TS's twin martial souls. Mf told to him to give up being soul master after seeing only his grass soul.
( Very controversial). I mean, why tf did this guy take his pregnant soul beast wife across a tour throughout the land. What stopped him from just hiding in some remote forest/village. Unless, a contra can't detect aura from preggo beast+ ah yin didn't inform tang hao of this. (Author didn't likely think too deep into this, imo tang hao is too stupid to pull this off, or maybe he informed his clan about his pregnant wife then his clan tricked tang hao do that he could get her 100,000 yr soul ring without issue+ tang hao forms life-death feud with Spirit Hall)
After that shit, why did he plant ah yin in a fuggin cave (her form was a fukin plant). (Also, didn't this guy know about the forest where her people lived and were willing to sacrifice for her.) (Imo guy's just stupid).
Yu Xiaogang: DD1
Trash was contemplating TS first soul ring being 10 yr. Seriously? Plus trash is incapable of actually fighting any 400 yr old beast and almost led to death of both (imagine if TS wasn't a reincarnation or had no background). This shit is just stupidity.
His line that there are no useless martial souls, only useless soul masters. Like , yeah, correct (remember that sword guy from sun moon empire who had low innate lower but was powerful at academy without any heaven defying treasure), I mean guy's level 29. Ig, dude's useless according to his theorem. Also, if you wanna prove this theorem, why tf are you taking a talented soul master as disciple (who would still reach top without help) instead of someone with low talent?
3.about twin martial souls, when he told TS that weak BSG with low innate power so he must have another powerful martial soul to be full innate, did this mf forget about Bibi Dong(like he was her lover, he must have known that she had two powerful martial souls and she was still innate), about liu erlong, he is a theoretical master , how tf trash couldn't identify that she was part of his clan (like pretty sure their martial soul mutates very commonly, so he must have done decent research on it)
Tang San: DD2 (been a while since read this so memory is a bit fudgy, take it with grain of salt)
Whole shitick with his daughter. He ripped her soul into two pieces(or was it three?). One part coincidentally fused with Auspicious Beast who coincidentally fell in love with Son of Destiny and then coincidentally sacrificed herself to him. Another part coincidentally decided to crossdress and disguise as a boy and became roommates with "Son of Destiny". (Must be his luck). Also, somehow had butterfly martial soul capable of fusing with an eye(must be his luck) . Plus, his treatment of Huo Yuhao(like bruh, imagine in DD1 ashura god for trial puts xiao wu in fatal situation without informing TS that this is a trial.)(or whole removing key parts of tang sect techniques, poor tang ya)
This one's a conjecture: No replacement for spirit hall. Like , his destruction of spirit hall is valid(they were his enemies) but he should have created some organisation that awakened martial souls for commoners. Like, they have zero chance of any social mobility.
Same as above: No replacement prison for slaughter city. Like I find his destruction of that place a bit sussy, but build some alternate prison ya know (where tf are their prisoners going to go now). Yep, now evil soul masters are everywhere and fucking with the entire continent.
Man, being a commoner in DD2 era fucking sucked, gamble with years of saving for chance of martial soul Awakening and being treated as cultivation resource by evil soul masters.
Tbh, it's not like Spirit Hall was a good place (Bibi Dong was a madwoman, Qian Renxue most likely assassinated several kids during her mission), but it's not Tang San is a righteous good guy.

Tldr: story/narrative treats tang san as righteous and smart guy, but dude is anything is but(same for his group). Plus the shit he pulled during DD2 and the fact that he seems like self insert of his author (whose reputation is in -ves in entire webnovel fandom). Though most fanfiction are stupid ai slop.

But this woman might be worse than her, so who is she? Let me introduce her, she's the mother of my second favorite MC in Tjss(all series)

So what's the story?

What happened when space-time turbulence occurred? Si Ya sacrificed the ENTIRE GOD REALM + her PEOPLE and confined them to a single God Realm for Ah Dai and Xuan Yue
At first glance, it looks exactly like Romeo and Juliet, but if we look closely.......yes.
I could say many bad things about Gu Yuena, but at least she tried something. Yes, she went crazy with love, but she TRIED! She even left behind a plan (which is potentially exploitable and bland) in the end. At least she just sacrificed herself; she didn't cram the entire Spirit Beast into a single divine tool.
Note: Of all the characters in Douluo 3.5, Si Ya looks the most perfect.
I just started binging the donghua, haven’t read the novels. I’m on SL1 about 200 episodes in.
This isn’t much of a big deal, but it kinda seems like Tang San’s power or skills are inconsistent. He is literally able to hold his own against Great and Grand SL masters one moment and then the next second he’s “struggling” to win against someone who’s one level above him.
Wouldn’t it be expected that someone capable of surviving a fight with someone 20 levels above them would win a fight in minutes against someone at their level.
This is handled well in other donghua, like Renegade Immortal where the fact that the show decides to make the protagonist an overpowered genius makes them pretty much invincible against people at their level and they only ever struggle against those significantly higher than them.
Either he’s a highly skilled powerful genius or just a regular soul master…he can’t be both.
Anyway, that’s just my little rant. It’s not really a big issue, just a small nitpick I noticed.
For Bibi Dong:
*Will live for 100,000 years, all powers permanently sealed, martial souls crippled, no soul rings ever again.
*Lowest-of-the-low personal maid exclusively to the Tang family and their descendants (no random outer sect disciples, only the bloodline she hated most).
Every single night: nightmares replaying Tang San’s final blow that ended her.
*Daily/forced storytelling: She has to recount, in detail, with full deference and praise, the tale of “How the Mighty Tang San Defeated the Ultimate Evil Bibi Dong” to the Tang family members, their kids, grandkids, etc. For eternity. She must glorify Tang San, demonize herself, and describe her own humiliating defeat over and over again while serving them tea or cleaning.
Imagine her kneeling there, old and powerless, telling wide-eyed Tang descendants: “And then the great Tang San used his Asura power and completely erased this lowly one’s body and soul…” while they nod and maybe throw her scraps.
For Renxue:
*Lives for 100,000 years, Angel God powers completely lost, no spirit rings ever again.
*Maltreated lowest maid in the ruins of Spirit Hall.
Forced to glorify Tang San’s greatness daily.
*Sole duty: cleaning and maintaining Tang San’s victory statue in the old Spirit Hall.
*Face in the history books right alongside her mother as pure evil.
Both will live long, broken, and humiliated in their own tailored hells, one in the enemy’s stronghold, one in the ruins of their empire. History will remember them only as villains who got exactly what they deserved.
Brutal but deserved. Death is a swift escape for them.

In douluo 2 they keep judging people as evil soul masters just because of a dark spirit. Yet you have the sect of Xu Sanshi being a whole evil sect, taking advantage of young girls for cultivation, and they dont judge them at all
Also Ma Xiaotao who got evil fire and had attacked people before during her rampage, but instead is protected by the shrek elders. Or Dai Huabin openly assassinating people at school

Why are they rarely used in fanfics?
Hi, can someone please help me with creating a twin Martial soul? I got an idea to make something like a charge Blade from monster hunter into soul land. One would be a sword and the other a shield. But since deploying both at the same time would be really draining normally, I'm thinking of some mechanic that, instead of burning through spiritual power, the souls would synergize and replenish one another just like in monster hunter phial management

Tang San could be considered the only person to hold a dualistic (or at least formerly) position, or if Tang San had embraced only Asura instead of the Sea God and become the god Asura, How would this affect his future and the future of those who his son, daughter, grandchild ?
So while I was reading a fanfiction just a while ago and it basically brought up how the world is just a hydrogen planet or something along those lines because I think it's because of something from book 4 but I haven't read that book then they also mention how the trident of Poseidon was able to break space this is my main question did it really break space because if I remember correctly the trident is only about 50 to 60 tons I think and I know it can be heavier because of a gravity soul skill
