What cans are you running?

I was sold on the huxwrx flow 9k until I realized it isn't rated for FA in 9mm. I swear I've seen some of the. Being run on frt setups. But Im not trying to deal with hux customer service for not listening to the restrictions lol.

What cans are you guys running that's around the $750 range that's low back pressure and gonna be okay to run with and frt?

Workin on a project

Very rough concept right now with changes I'm going to make soon.

Liked the idea of the handguard being shorter and covering more of the bottom. Not to mention having the irons removed and using the pin there to hold the handguard. Uses the same mounting points of the Haga with a lil less MLok.

Has anyone changed muzzle devices?

I’ve had this laying around for awhile and thought I’d try it. I also have a buffer/spring and A2 flash hider coming from HBI.

While the recoil on the kuna is pretty soft I’m trying to figure out why it moves around so much. Has anyone changed muzzle devices and if so did it change the recoil impulse at all?

To the fellow Nexus lower owners running a SS/FRT configuration, have any of you had success obtaining a second BCG to make quickly swapping back to the OEM lower a breeze?

Exactly as the title states. I’d like to get a secondary one to make the swap tool less. I get its not that much effort or steps in a sense but it’s the whole risk of losing small parts that plays as much of a role.

Squirted the 3 position switch and FRT drop in test

It works! Only thing I noticed is going in to safe is a little tough but it works and is very minor to me. Install was very simple and smooth. I broke the 45 degree printed 3 position on install. I think I didnt get notch cut out quite line up for the selector before forcing it in. Luckily I had the vertical version printed and ready to go. Very happy so far! Thanks to Your BRO!

Printed handguard assembled

Had the time to do initial sanding and prepping for a cerakote job.

Waiting on one slate MLok covers and a new folding stock.

Kuna oem stock red dot height?

I don’t know if my posture is bad but I can’t find a good, comfortable height for my PA Slx 1x. The stock seems very low for good cheek weld. Those that have oem stock, what height do you use?

Simple Kuna Build looking for suggestions

Finally picked up a Kuna and decided to do a simple build, only the necessities so far. Suggestions are welcome! Mainly looking for brace alternatives, the factory one is not the most ergonomic.

Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti
Holosun AEMS
Amazon light (lol)
Magpul handstop
Magpul QD mount
Magpul MS1 sling
Factory strike industries brace

Any idea on Nexus lead times

Ordered some Kona parts from Nexus two weeks ago. Didn’t wanna harass them yet. Was wondering if anyone had any guesses on their current lead times

For edit: correction. It was one week ago,

Mag Release stiffness (left handed)

You can take the mag release apart on the Kuna lower and cut down the spring to make it easier to activate the mag release. This can also be done on the safety to make way easier.

No need to buy springs or go to a smith just need a very smallish punch tool. Thinking of modeling something bigger for a release too among other small things.

Edit: this mf spring is a lil bitch when I did it

Did I install this right? Nexus Lower - Atrius Forced Reset Selector - Super Selektor

I wanted to check with others that have done this before to make sure I've assembled the lower part right. I'm relatively new to AR builds but have a really good mechanical aptitude.

I bought a Atrius Forced Reset Selector - Super Selektor for the Nexus Lower.

When cycling through the safety positions, the safe works properly, as does the single fire. There's also the very satisfying click moving between safe and single.

However moving it to the third safety position, the selector indicator is a "off" by about 15 degrees and there's no click. Is that because I haven't attached the upper and trip kit yet?

I did not that when installing it and testing the alignment. The detent pin got kind of bound and it looks like there's a tiny bit of mechanical damage to the selector. Should I be worried ? It's a few tiny scratch marks, but the grooves look okay otherwise.

Outside of the damage, is everything Good to Go or should I consider sending this to a smith?

Finding the best brace

This is just a shoutout to the SBT scorpion brace for the Kuna.

  1. Strike Industries brace - this was my first experience with a kuna and I hated the hard blade type brace. A lot of people seem to like it, but it was too uncomfortable for me.
  2. FS1913A - my second try at a brace. It was the most recommended one on Reddit so decided to give it a try. Definitely an upgrade from the SI. Softer rubber texture was nicer than the plastic-y SI brace. Maybe I should’ve gone with the polymer version, but my kuna was noticeably heavier. I liked it for while until I was at the range for a long time and ended up with a bruise from the brace 😂. Definitely a better option than SI but I wanted a wider brace. I was used to the width of a SBA3
  3. HBI SBT Brace for Kuna - This is my favorite so far. It’s slightly lighter than the 1913A. The push button to flip out the brace is so much easier to use. I believe it is only 0.2 inches wider than the 1913A, but it made a noticeable difference. So much more comfortable. The rubber on the arm/wrist brace portion is very thin which I was worried about bending at first, but it remains its shape better than a thicker SBA3.

I’m glad I tried the HBI SBT brace, because if it didn’t work out I was gonna go with a buffer tube/skeleton tube + SBA5 route, which makes things more expensive and bulky. It’s nice that the SBT brace replaces the factory polymer butt plate with an aluminum plate so less money out of pocket if you were looking to replace that anyway.

Test of u/YourBroStevo’s new 3 position safety FRT

Works perfect printed a little overkill with Siriya tech ppa-cf on a Bambu lab H2D at 320 degrees nozzle 110degree bed .12mm fine detail 10 wall loops with infill embedded into wall and 99% rectilinear infill. Annealed in Sunlu E2 at 110c for 12 hours.

Could easily be printed in pa6cf and would work fine.

Safety is smoother than factory. As far as the actuator this is with the -1 but zero works fine also.

Can be removed in 10 seconds and the safety works fine with no frt or trip installed just shoots semi as intended.
