Got my square Omni recently. Spent about an hour hitting balls on the range and messing around. Overall I’m quite pleased with it, except for driver seems to be weird.. everything comes out straight left. Not a hook or draw, just a dead shot way left. Distance seems normal’ish (I have distance turned up 6% since I play at altitude) except for ball speed seems a bit low. Omni is showing 148-153 though I’m actually closer to 163-168 from what I’ve seen on my old skytrak and at public sims.

I’ve tried to deliberately hit slices (over the top way open face) and it will go more straight but that’s it.

Is there a setting I need to change or an alignment thing? Irons/wedges seem fine and mostly accurate but driver is a problem.

Had to get a usb extender for the Bluetooth dongle. Sometimes it will randomly stop having a connection with gspro. Any one having consistent connection? How are you doing it?

Sometimes when using the alignment stick it will freeze the LM. Simple off/on fixes but kinda annoying.

The tripod back leg seems to extend enough to where the LM is tilted back slightly instead of straight up. Anyone else notice?

Hi all,
My current simulator runs a with a Garmin R10 through to a gaming PC located on the other side of the house. Due to bluetooth not being in range I have to run it via my phone which links over WIFI to the openAPI software on the pc to run GS Pro.

I've been recently thinking of upgrading to the Square indoor launch monitor for putting and better accuracy, but I'm unsure if I'll be able to link it the same way through my phone via bluetooth then to the PC over WIFI/API software.

Does anyone have experience setting up something similar with a square and is it possible?

I just got my Omni in yesterday. Played with it for about an hour and I’m seeing the same distance reduction a lot of people are talking about. Ex. 7 iron topping out at 135 instead of 160+ like on the course, etc. I didn’t have my distance adjustment put to +10% like a lot of people I see now are recommending.

I’m also trying to confirm that I have the latest firmware update since I figured maybe they would have that bug fixed by now, but don’t see any way to force the latest update? It says MMI version is 1.4.0, LM is 1.5.8, and OS is 0.0.0 in the settings. Are those the latest versions?

Is this distance bug affecting everybody, or is it a unit by unit thing? And does the 10% adjustment get it dead on, or just get it close? Seems strange that people are talking about how accurate it is, but that is a huge glaring inaccuracy.

Square Golf Omni just arrived. Installed the android app and it is a terrible experience.

There seems to be no way to sign up on the website so you have to use the app. Using the app the keyboard pops up in landscape mode so you lose half the screen and you are constantly trying to scroll up and down which doesn't work most of the time.

As a new user you have to sign up. If you type in a user ID and password and email address. No matter what I do it keeps saying my password does not match. I'm actually using the clipboard and pasting in so there is no way it does not match.

A quick search shows the same issue in other forums.

I restarted the and then went to lost ID. By entering my email it sent my ID which is what I was trying to sign up with.

Then using my ID and email I went and got a lost password.

It emailed me a temporary password

Thinking I had beat the system now I use the ID and password that was emailed to me by square to login.

it shows an error "email is not yet authenticated"

so basically I cannot use this machine except as a guest

I'm not sure if it makes a difference but as a guest in the first 5 minutes I've lost connection twice while standing two meters away from it. The whole app is very slow, each of the steps above took about half a minute to throw an error back.

the connection takes about a minute possibly get back but sometimes you seem to have to restart the app.

anyone know how I can actually sign up or sign in?

Also tried to install on PC and see if it's any different. Installs and fails also.

Hey I just ordered the square omni in Canada and it says theyre awaiting shipment end of the month. Any experience with timing here? Does it usually take the full month?

Excited to get playing and try this out.

Since square doesn't have elevation in the software what exactly is the slider that does a percentage? Anyone knows EXACTLY the parameters.. How can you be sure of the readings you are getting? I live in Vegas so roughly 2k above sea level what about Colorado residents or San Diego residents? ​It couldn't be that hard to add elevation right? ​

Today I had my nephews come play. They both had never played golf before. I put them on rookie status and we played par 3. It was great fun for all of us. The rookie status definitely improved their shots quite a bit but made it fun. I highly recommend it when new golfers come to your sim

I just received my Square Golf Omni and am trying to register the welcome-credit coupon on the Square Golf Members website.

I’m able to log into my account normally, but when I enter the coupon code and click “register coupon,” I get:

“Request failed with status code 403.”

My account still shows 0 credits. I tried this through Chrome on a MacBook Pro and iPad Pro.

Has anyone else run into this? If so, how did you reslove this?

The Omni I purchased has held up well so far with a lot of testing. I feel confident that you do not need an external case for it. However one thing I wish I had for it was a tempered glass screen protector for the display. Nothing has happened to mine, but it seems like the one point of failure and it would be nice to have some sort of protection there.

Has anyone had luck finding a pre-existing screen protector product that just so happens to fit the Omni's screen?

First impressions of the Square Omni:

1. The Omni is fast. It boots up much more quickly than my SkyTrak+ (ST+), and shot data appears on the screen almost immediately after impact.
2. Impact location is great. It registers on nearly every shot, including some pretty severe mishits off the hosel. This is probably my favorite feature so far.
3. Angle of attack is also very useful. Unfortunately, it has confirmed that I still have some work to do with my irons!
4. The Omni software is fairly bare-bones, particularly compared with the ST+, which is quite polished. One feature I especially like on the ST+ is that it displays ideal ranges for many metrics, such as backspin and launch angle. The ST+ also offers a variety of practice ranges for working on specific skills, a wedge matrix, and courses with a subscription. With ST+, you can also practice on the various courses. The Omni doesn't currently have anything comparable.
5. I'm a lefty, and so far that hasn't been an issue at all. Setup and shot detection seem to work just as they should.
6. The hitting area is quite generous. There is plenty of room to place the ball without feeling like you have to be overly precise about positioning.
7. The range display could be more customizable. The Omni has two main pages while practicing: the range screen itself and a separate analytics screen. Face impact location has now been added to the range screen, which is very useful, but the other visual graphics showing things like club path and face angle still appear only on the analytics screen. It would be great if users could choose which of those graphics appear on the range screen, or ideally display the range and analytics pages simultaneously on two different monitors.

Overall, I'm very impressed with the Omni hardware and the speed and quality of the data. The software is clearly the area where it has the most room to grow.

Is it just me or is it kind of crappy that square allowed preorders which myself and many others took advantage of (at least we thought we did) and folks are ordering directly from Square and getting the Omni way faster? Seems like a good company would be trying to fulfill those preorders before stocking their own inventory. But what do I know !

I’ve been playing with it for a few months and I’m seeing some crazy shots with my driver. Ball travels 40 yards shorter and moves way left like 60-80 yards. I am using a Bridgestone E12 ball. When I switch back to my pro V1 same shot or really close ball flys pretty straight no issues. I read they the photo metric launch monitors use the pro V1 dimple pattern as the standard and the Bridgestones can cause this issue. So what’s everyone using??
