Whats going on with the spring cleaning quest in rookie town? Everytime i wipe out a group of bandits it jumps to another group. I even had a group respawn on top of me in the same place i just cleared out ??
I don't understand the fast travel. I set price & CD to 0. Sometimes i can travel to seemingly random places. Other times i can't travel anywhere. (All within Cordon).
i've been using linux for a year and a half now and lately i've been watching alot of stalker gamma on youtube so i wanted to try it out on linux does anyone here play it with good performance and do i need to boot a new hard with windows for it or no ? i'd appreciate it if you guys tell me your experiences
I followed the FAQ on what to do for enabling magazines and with 0.9.5 it gives me this when i try to launch into the game.
im at a point where i kinda tried everything i found in the discord, im having a lot of stutters kind of randomly.
i have 32gb ram, ssd, ryzen 7 7800, RX 9070 XT.
for some reason the first time i installed gamma i had stutters, i gave up on the game cuz of it.
i installed it again at some point, no stutters. i even added very performance heavy mods on top of gamma and i had no stutters and decent fps.
but now i reinstalled it again recently and the stutters are back, i literally did nothing different.
It just doesnt make sense to me cuz im sure my pc should handle the game correctly so what could be the issue?
I dont know how it happened but my knife just disappeared. It could have possibly broke?
Regardless, now i cannot equip any melee weapons. When i click them nothing happens and when dragging them over to the slot it is greyed out. I cant even pull out my fists.
Interestingly enough, i am able to equip a pistol to the melee slot and freely use that, and when i equipped a rare knife my character pulled it out and did the inspect animation, then held it out equipped. Then unfortunately when i switched guns, it disappeared completely from my inventory. Adding it back in skipped the rare weapon animation, putting it straight into my inventory.
I am really at a loss because i cant harvest many of the ingredients I need to craft artifacts as well as open those little containers. Any ideas would be much appreciated.
I remember playing SOC crash fest on Windows Vista back in 2006, modders have taken us a long way.
You are not suppose to wait for the GOG version to update to 0.9.5

I leveled both duty and loners to level 3 rep and I still don’t have access to the kiparis kit. I even updated gamma to the latest version, went in with debug mode and the kit is not there with all of the other weapon kits.. any idea what I’m doing wrong here?
so maybe I'm remembering wrong, or maybe this was from original anomaly, but I seem to recall that the rain/storms used to absolutely drench your mask with water, so much so that the 'wipe mask' keybind was actually super necessary. I noticed I had to turn storms back on in this version of gamma, but even then I never really need to wipe my visor. I realize it was probably an optimization change but does anyone know how to make this more extreme? I just have this super cool memory of doing the swamps quests with a kar98 in absolute torrential downpour and I want it again.
I cannot seem to get a new game to launch without crashing when trying to use any of the magazine mods. Here's an image of the error I get and where my mods are ordered. I keep hearing that I should be using the Mags Redux mod and that it should be either at 156, 55, or 0. None of them are working, even if I do the same with either 207 - Mags Redux & 207 - Anomaly Magazines. Any help?
Follow these steps if your game crashes when loading into a new or existing save while using any of GAMMA's magazine mods.
You should now be able to load into a new game with magazines functional!

Greetings, newbie here, just launched the game today. It's my first STALKER title too.
So first mission: go north and clear a pump station somewhere in the middle of the swamp. I arrived there and noticed the pump station is guarded by 7-8-ish people, while I only have a pistol and a knife. I'm thinking to myself "Oh, I can't go Rambo style, the game must be teaching me to stealth". After a bit of trial and error I figure out how to get on the station unnoticed.
There he is, my first victim. I approach him from behind, knife in hand thinking I'm gonna silently take him down and slit his throat, adrenaline rushing, the prompt appears, hit F, and instead of murder I initiated a pleasant chat with him. Only that instead of a hello I received a bullet through the skull.
Take two, knife in hand, I approach him, and swung the blade around like a mad man, guy doesn't die, everyone gets alerted, I'm swiss cheese again.
I swear I saw something about stealth in the modpacks, but just in passing. I think I might be missing something, how do I kill a target silently without altering everyone else? Is that a thing in this game?
So I've been playing GAMMA for a couple hundred hours as a loner on med/med difficulty and I'm starting to find it "boring". Not in the gameplay but the challenge concerning factions. Everybody just loves loners except the bad guys.
So, I thought of playing Military since every-fucking-body hates them. That would make me think about how to travel and I like the idea. As a guy that only ever played Freedom and never actually went beyond the Brain Scorcher quest... Do you have any tips for a military playthrough?
Just did a fresh install of gamma 2 days ago and im now frequently getting this crash. Most often when opening the inventory of dead characters but also just whilst walking around. Anyone have any idea how to fix?
Getting back into GAMMA for the first time since .89 (I think).
I’m running into th Le issue I had back then:
Mutants, especially boars, a goddamn quiet. Like nearly silent until they’re on you. I keep getting ghosted by 300kg beasts.
Is there any mods I can add or subtract to give mutants sounds and louder footsteps and such?
After a quick look on the discord I know I’m not the only one
I had to uninstall anomaly/gamma to make space for other stuff on my pc, but while attempting to reinstall it I try to boot base anomaly up but it crashes on startup after pressing play on the launcher.
Are there some leftover files that need deleting before a clean reinstall that by default are located outside the Anomaly/Gamma folders?
All they tell me on the discord is to downgrade my nvidia drivers which obviously isn't necessary because it worked fine on the same driver version after the first installation.

I gave basic tools to tech in Merc base (I am UNISG).
So I can repair weps A with repair kit he offers from the start and now I can repair weps B since I gave him basic tools and he offers wep B repair kits. Ok great.
To repair weps C I guess I need to give him advanced tools so I can buy wep repair kit C?
So find advanced tools in a stash or craft from 5 basic tools.
Since I can't successfully go to red forest or limansk yet with my puny 9mm starting wep and shotty how the hell to get advanced tools without grinding stashes?
Got a bunch of C and D guns by going to war with Freedomers in Army Warehouses.
No way to repair them? Or?
How to bridge this gap.
