I finished Visions: Tsukumo by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi

We need more Star Wars stories in manga format. This was a truly delightful experience!

The story leverages the specific setting of the Dark Times to explore not only the final days of a surviving Jedi but also how his ideas manage to make an impact even on his enemies. The dilemma it presents regarding artificial intelligence—its potential as a sentient being and the capacity to become more than the sum of its parts—is fascinating (it reminded me a bit of Thia from Predator Badlands). In that regard, Master Nagi stands out immediately as a Jedi who empathizes with the species the galaxy takes most for granted: the droids. It is a highly original way to craft a story set in such a turbulent, ever-changing era. I also found the artwork beautiful throughout.

Personally, I would have liked it to be a bit longer—to spend even more time with the antagonist, the "Jedi Killer" (and I wish he had given himself a name)—but overall, I am satisfied.

All in all, an unconventional yet really cool story set during the Dark Times.

Chita burning dinner (because why not?)

I guess smugglers aren’t really good at cooking…

Just a silly drawing before I draw the idol stuff lol. First time drawing Chita btw. 🥹

Poor Kara went through a lot in the series

(1am post oml) Finished the Ninth Jedi series a few days ago. And I've been enjoying it, pleased with what we got after the roughly five year wait. But one thing I've cathartically(?) enjoyed with Kara's character and don't seem to see much discussion of is just how much hardship she went through over the course of her story. For someone who's roughly I presume in her teen years and a compassionate young girl (and the fate of the galaxy resting on her shoulders! No trouble!), Kara's been through the ringer.

  • For starters her Dad got kidnapped by Eht and Bee-toh, mentions in the next short she felt powerless to do anything to prevent this kidnapping. At this point she doesn't know what the bounty hunters want with her Dad and naturally for a young girl she would be in a lot of distress over that.

  • Teto had to sacrifice himself to save her from Jedi hunters. While she didn't get to know Teto for long, she mourned Teto's sacrifice.

  • Had to consider the possibility that her father may not have been as much of a saint as Kara thought he was. Though this was brief, it's clear Kara had a lot of internal conflict learning about Zhima killing Reno; worse still that she would've spent a majority of her life idolising Zhima and that viewpoint likely was shattered.

  • Almost died from Nawaam's kyber cannon. If that cannon had been angled just a slight amount the series would've certainly ended there. Even then, she had to help evacuate Bibin and they had to deal with the fallout caused by the cannon.

  • Juro died, and she blames herself for her mentor's death. Like damn, Kara watched him fade away. Likely she felt directionless without a mentor to train, guide, or lead her to the next step. I presume that's why she felt like a failure while stranded on the forest planet with Eesha's people. Then those aliens got attacked by Nawaam's forces.

  • Fell to the dark side after her rampage against Nawaam's forces... That red saber reveal likely contributes to her feelings of unworthiness as a Jedi. She quite literally ran off from the saber itself. Oh yea, then Bee-toh and Eht came and took the aliens hostage; Kara gets chased by the aliens she's befriended and then has to hand herself in as a prisoner to avoid any more harm. Oh and of course, during her escape attempt almost died again.

  • For the final fight, Kara actually thought her Dad died to Nawaam. At least for a while until all the battle was over.

But I guess all of that tough moments makes Kara's victories feel well earned in the series when they do come by. And I'm quite satisfied with the direction Kenji took her character, through all the hurdles and such.

What do you think? Should Kara have went through more or less hardship to grow from? Like the direction Kenji took her character towards?

More idol arc visionscrew

The Grand Galactic Idol Championships is underway. Who will you vote for?

It’s been a while since I drew idol arc stuff for visionscrew. Surprisingly, T0-B1 was pretty easy to draw (No complex design and all). Oh, and there’s more than one Karl. Just a tidbit for someone who loathes this anomaly… I’ve been meaning to draw more often after summer has ended. I really want to draw more F and Kara, my favorite sister pair hawawa!! (⌒▽⌒)

I have something planned to wrap up this silly lil arc. Stay tuned. 😈😈😈

Cause day and night (what what?)

I was so lucky to find this in some random anime store at the mall today.

It’s not in perfect condition but I don’t mind. (Must’ve been donated to that very store)

Taking the entire galaxy by storm.

Kara Bot is all the rage rn. She isn’t even singing however. It’s all just baby gobblygoob. Yet, the galaxy is in love with this creature. But why? 🥹

Idol Lah-botomy

I’m trying to go back to drawing more idol Visions stuff.

Sorry for the low energy drawing. I drew this past midnight and thought this would be a cute, quick doodle for fun. I needed some time after finishing the Ninth Jedi anime.

Wish we saw more unique flourishes for lightsabers in the anime

When the Season 1 short came out I was really interested in not only the color changing depending on who wields a lightsaber but also potentially lightsabers having small flourishes for each character.

In the short we saw that Kara's lightsaber was glowing very faintly due to her not having a full grasp of her force abilities but it eventually solidified.

Imagine if your lightsaber gaining a flourish like Juro's ring guard was a visual indication of further progression.

Some ideas:

- A curved blade so the lightsaber actually becomes a saber

- A cross guard

- The blade narrows to resemble an actual swordblade like the darksaber

I'm not disappointed with the direction they went in with the whole silver saber thing but I wish they included something like this too even if it wasn't a primary focus like the silver saber was.

My 'The Ninth Jedi' Review:

Y'all ever watch something and get sad when it's over? That's me right now. I honestly waited so long for this show. From the moment I saw the initial short that started it all, I wanted a continuation and we finally got it. And MAN it did not disappoint.

This show was such a fun romp through the galaxy far, far away. It's kinda refreshing to get what feels like a "traditional" space opera post-2019. Ever since the Disney+ era of Star Wars began, we haven't really had a big, sweeping narrative that spirits us away like the saga films do. After finishing the first episode, I was honestly gagged at the scale and scope of what I had just watched. There was so much innovation and exploration of what Star Wars can be but also still very much grounded in the tropes of what George had started. It really felt like a natural yet unexpected continuation of the saga.

The animation was incredible, the action scenes and saber duels were jaw-dropping, the cast of characters were tropy but a lot of fun. It all just worked. Like a big bowl of Star Wars comfort that didn't need cameos or established cannon to carry it over the finish line.

I especially loved this show's take, or rather...reevaluation, of the Jedi. It was the perfect way to have the Jedi grow into something new but still be true the beacons of good and hope that they should be. Kamiyama-sensei made them feel so much more like actual people instead of the superheroes that the fandom (and Filoni) wants them to be, no shade. This show really makes it feel like anyone who wishes to make a positive change in the lives of others can be a true Jedi. I love that so much.

Ugh. Idk my mind is still racing after finishing this show. It truly is one of the greats. It's def in my personal S-Tier right next to The Last Jedi, Andor, and The Acolyte. Aside from some strange pacing between the big moments in the show, I don't really have any complaints or nitpicks. Visions continues to be one of the best initiatives that Disney Lucasfilm has created and, be it a season 2 of The Ninth Jedi or something new, I can't wait to see what is next. 9.5/10. Welcome back Star Wars. <3

What did y'all think?

The 9th Jedi is what Star Wars Legacy should have been.

A series taking place long after the Republic, Empire and other major power blockz have fallen while not being stupidly dark for the sake of being dark and telling a much more interesting story.

The pacing had its flaws but I loved the series from begining to the end.

finish show fanart

Before the ninth Jedi series comes out, I felt Kara is a pure daughter-vibe character. But after I finished this show, I really love her. This girl is so cool and amazing Jedi

(I'm not sure about her Jedi Council outfit.)

It's that time of the year again!

Did you know? Did you know that when you pet a bunny, the bunny is more bunny? B, because you're bunnying the bun and the bun is having fun, and that's why the bunny is. Because you're petting the bunny and the bunny is bunnying the bun for fun under the sun. See, when the bunny can jumps, it's because the bunny has legs, and the legs let the bunny move and stuffs. But without legs, bunnies can maybe roll? And the bunnies can eat because teefs, and teefs let them bite too. But if these use their teefs on their legs, they cannot jumps. So can a bunny be a bunny if there's no legs or teefs? Or if their legs are actually teefs and their teefs are actually legs, maybe we would have a super bunny all thanks to the pets. So remember to pets the bunny so they can be more bunny and bunnies and fun when they can buns for funds. And never evers pets the teefs, because that's when buns are not funs and you can go to the hospitals for missing fingies.

So how exactly is Ninth Jedi "not Star Wars"?

Ive seen people in the comments sections of Ninth Jedi videos say this, and yet everytime I ask them to elaborate, they just fucking refuse to answer.

Well, there was one, "its not canon"

As if that explains literally anything -_-
