When recording midi drums, I'll have to go into the track and control A all the notes I just played to lengthen them enough to see them for corrections or quantizing. Then if I do overdubs or retakes on that track, i can't control A because it affects all the previous notes already lengthened, so I'll have to find the new notes separately. Could there be a macro or keyboard shortcut to automatically lengthen midi drum notes played, to a length where they become visible as they're being recorded?

For some reason whenever I export a file, the whole track is "shifted" a few samples earlier than where it's supposed to be.

The first track is the bounced master, while the second is the original drum track.

This is really frustrating especially for tracks that start right off the bat with an important transient. I'm always forced to leave a few samples of headroom because I know this is going to happen. Is there any setting I need to toggle or is it just the way Studio Pro handles exports?

I'm interested in getting either the UF8 or FP8 to have a more tactile "real" feel, I used to mix on actual consoles and doing everything with keyboard and mouse doesn't come close to the same experience. Is the UF8 really worth the price difference? I don't mind "buy once cry once" on the UF8 if the functionality, quality, and longevity is there, but the FP8 still looks awesome, has full S1 integration and is less than half the price (I can even get the FP16 and still be well below the UF8 price).

I was leaning toward the UF8 but one thing really bothers me: the lack of dedicated transport controls. I watched some vids and it looks like the transport is controlled from the top "universal" buttons (requiring a mode switch) and it doesn't seem very ergonomic for something I'll be using a lot (I mainly record myself these days, I like quick and easy to reach controls for tracking/punching), whereas the FP8 has them in a very logical location (to me) and they're dedicated. Maybe I'm missing something though.

Anyway, I've read a bunch of old posts on this but I wanted to see some more recent impressions on these (or even other controllers), given they've been around for quite a while by now. Thanks!

so i play guitar and i use various plugins like amplitube 5 in studio one 6 while using active monitoring with low sample rate to turn my computer into an amp. well i got it all onto an old good laptop and i can plug the interface in and get the plugins running, but the audio has to be set to the interface which is an Audiobox USB 96 and only then can i get audio with headphones. i wanted to be able to make the daw audio come out of the built in laptop speakers and the only way i can figure out how to do it is to set it to windows audio instead of the audiobox. this gives me 40-80ms delay and it’s unusable. i’ve been clips of people doing it with very little delay with their laptops but they had a macbook, is it possible to get low latency monitoring with a windows laptop’s built in speakers like a lenovo legion Y720?

I have some template midi files from a pack I would like to add to my project pool. When I do "Right Click" > "Import to pool", it doesn't do anything. No error message or anything, but the pool is empty.

It would be great to keep all relevant file assets in the pool, not just audio files. Is that possible?

So my PC got fried and after a fresh install of Windows I thought it might be time to get my hands on Studio Pro after using Studio One for years. All my sessions are backed up but somet hings are messed up. If I open up an old session I get hit with two errors.

The first one is saying that there are stems missing. Looking through the list I realise that the paths to the stems are still in the old format ("C:\user\myusername\documents\studio one\etc" instead of "C:\user\myusername\documents\studio pro\etc"). So i can either click on "search file" and locate every of the hundreds of stems or...well is there a different way to solve this issue?

Second issue being that there are some VSTs "missing". I went through the list and every single VST that is stated as missing is installed and can also be loaded onto a track. E.g. "NeuralDSP Archetype Petrucci X" is said to be missing and when I check the track in the mixer it is indeed colored red and when I click on it it says that there is no Plugin to be loaded. On the other hand I can just add the said Plugin and use it (without the saved parameters of the session ofcourse). How can I solve that issue?

I've found layers but it seems an extra step to turn takes into layers.

I need some help. I think I did something stupid.

I thought I would go back and clean up old files that I no longer need. Of the 10 to 15 songs I have recorded most of them were just trial runs, so I just started deleting them. I do not care that they are gone. I had them saved on an internal and external drive as well as another folder on my desktop for easier access. For the three songs that are very important I deleted everything that was not the most recent save in the history folder. Once I had the latest possible save completed, I renamed the songs with a more permanent title. Now, when I open the song, some or all of the individual tracks are now missing! I am trying not to panic. I went into my recycle bin and restored every Studio One file to its original location. Even after restoring the files none of the three important songs are complete, some or all of the individual tracks are listed as missing even though the tracks still show their names. I will admit I have moved what I thought was the last most important save into a different folder. Am I right to assume everything is still there but Studio One just cannot find the location? Does every new save rely on the historical previous versions of the same song? Did renaming the song also confuse the program? Why didn't the last save, save everything instead of just some of the song?

I've set up a new impact instrument and added drum sounds to the pads. When I click the option to route these into separate channels, these new channels receive zero signal. All of the drum sounds come through the first impact channel. Looking for advice, not sure what I'm doing wrong. Just want to route drums to their own individual channels.

Who was the genius at Personus that decided to push a firmware update on a Friday afternoon.

Been using studio one all day. Got my mic’s all set up, ready to record, universal control wants an update, have to update firmware on my quantum HD.

After wasting my time with all that, all my studio One settings are erased.

Seriously WTF is wrong with you? You don’t think Friday night people are recording?

EDIT: I use the phone app to sit at my drums and adjust gain levels. The phone app won’t work once firmware update shows up.

Im an independent music artist thats recording and mixing myself in an in home studio. Im using Fender Studio ( Studio One ) 8 and im working on a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 connected to an Arturia Minifuse 2 .

Yesterday/ last night I was in a mixing session for one of my songs and made some progress I was really happy with but I was listening from the laptop itself.

Out of nowhere the software itself started running extremely slow ...so slow that the playback was inaudible to me .

I plugged in the interface and when I playback the audio from there all I hear is constant popping noise ( like audio clipping but thats ALL I hear )

I'm not sure if this an issue with the plug ins I have on the tracks , the way I have the folders sent to the Bus Channels or something completely different but I really want to save the raw vocals from this session if nothing else .

If anyone could guide me on how to continue my mix and fix the playback issue that would be great.

( I can provide screenshot/ video of the issue if need be )

I've been learning mixing and mastering in studio one for the last couple months.

My progress is definitely visible (hearable lol) on many aspects, but there is one which I just can't manage to get around.

Basically what happens is that the vocals simply sound too emphasized in the low range but just on certain parts of the song.

Most of the vocal track sounds good but there are instances where it just sounds too bass boosted. Basically like it resonates on the low-end for a second or two.

It is not extreme, but still annoys me quite a lot as these freqs just escape the normal vocal range and kinda mess with the mix.

Does anyone know if there exists a compressor or anything similar that lowers only specific fq bands if they get to loud in the mix? Or any other solution, really not sure how to solve this nor where else to ask.

I have 2 guitar tracks going to the same Bus for the same tone, I want them panned L75 and R75, but when I do I can still hear the dry signal in the Center unless I hard pan the track 100 left or right. When I Center the tracks and pan the Bus it sounds correct, only the wet signal, but then both tracks would be panned to the same side, how should I go about fixing this?

I received a piano track from a friend and want to find the bpm for this, to play other instruments to it with a click.

First weird thing, when using "Detect tempo" it stretches the wav file about 15% to tell me it has a bpm of 150.

Why does it not leave the wav file the original speed?

Second, the click is off, it does not represent the original beatrate.

But how do I find this?

Recently i upgraded studio one 6 to the new fender studio pro..every things was fine , it recalled all my settings , templets , favorites and third party routings..so i uninstalled version 6 .. Installed all the free bees and essential downloads from the manager..after a few days I was working with fender studio pro when a sudden malfunction in my power back up device occurred and switched off my win 11 pc..upon restarting i found that fender studio pro reverted back to its initial stage..all my settings, temples etc were gone..even the recent songs from the page..every thing went new..I had many Power disturbance like that while studio one older versions were running on ,but never had this issue..this is a PAIN. SOLVED..

And guess what? The world didn't end. No asteroids fell from the sky, no solar flares. Just. a continuation of the best Workflow of any DAW with negligible changes.

I'm not able to download Fender Studio due to apparently outdated Windows?? I haven't been at my computer for a couple of months, and my Studio One software kicked me out and is now requiring activation. I'd really prefer to keep using Studio One because all of my VSTs and precious mixes are all stored and allocated within the Studio One program, not to mention the issue of not being able to download Fender's version.

I've tried logging in through several websites, and I keep hitting a wall getting brought to Fender

I just bought a second hand Presonus Revelator io 24 and I'm looking up how to use it and apparently you have to register it with purchase date and serial number in order to use it, but I have no idea what its original purchase date is and when I tried putting in a random date with the serial number on the bottom (in the picture, it's under "manufacturing date" but that's the serial number, right?) it said serial number not valid. What do I do? Do I need the account of the guy who sold it to me to use it? Can I use it without registering it? Can you even use it with softwares other than StudioOne?
