Windows 11 26H2

Did anyone install Windows 11 26H2 yet and is everything working fine?

Somewhere I saw concerns regarding USB audio devices - which I suppose might affect ASIO DACs.

UPDATE: Thanks for the heads-up. I installed and also have no issues with the audio device 👍

For reference: Microsoft notice

OTC order entry

Not sure there's a point of providing webull feedback here, but...

I want to be able to create OTC trades outside of business hours so they're ready to go once the market opens.

As is, the system rejects placing OTC trades outside of market hours so one has to keep a list and wait for the market to open before entry.

(Note: I am not asking to trade OTC outside market hours, which is another issue, but just to prepare OTC market hour trades beforehand.)

Thanks

Lidl Is Now Using A Truck With No Cab To Ship Goods

"Einride’s Level 4-capable truck got a first-of-its-kind permit to operate on Germany’s public roads."

Swedish trucks! It's more of a prototype/experiment at this point, but hey!

Tello International data roaming is a joke

I am annoyed enough that I would do a chargeback if I had paid for this gimmick, which currently is free until end of Sept. It probably is free because we're used as guinea pigs.

The pic shows the reality - the connected bars is Google Fi (which works reliably for over a decade now), the disconnected (!) is what I usually get from tello, while traveling through several European countries, which are all listed as supported.

It occasionally starts out alright when entering a country, but gets disconnected after a few minutes. I can only think of the local carriers noticing and cutting it off. The only place where it worked somewhat reliably so far is Switzerland.

-----

Edit 1: So it looks like it's hit or miss. It's not working for me in Southern Germany, Alsace (France), or Albania, but in Switzerland. Not quite done traveling so we'll see. It's currently set as 2nd SIM on a Pixel 10 Pro XL with roaming enabled. I'm traveling all over the planet and never had roaming issues with Google Fi, which is why I keep it as primary carrier.

Edit 2: I got it to work following Luckiest comments and manually configuring the 'wholesale' APN. No idea why this isn't set up by default, I have to go through this hassle and Tello marketing claiming international would work automatically, but here we are.

Upload passport/ID to add Gemini payment method ???

I recently wanted to add a payment method to try some Gemini pay-as-you-go features. This worked fine initially, but later asked me to upload my ID - which of course I will not do for anyone unless it's a regulated business with related legal requirements.

Has anyone else experienced this?

(Edit: I am not looking to debate the merits of asking for ID, but simply if others were asked to go through the same process. Thank you.)

I opened a case with Google telling them about this obvious error - since I am not asked to upload IDs to Amazon, Microsoft, Netflix or any of the 100s of other entities I do business with. They gave me the run-around about what an appreciated long term customer I am and that it's for my own security and to upload an ID so we can resolve the issue.

I am super suspicious of this nonsense, definitely will not provide my ID and purchase tokens elsewhere. This is so retarded - we are a Google household with phones, smart home, AI pro subscription and use all Google services for decades!

After Market Head Units / Stereos for 2020 EX

Hi - I'm thinking of replacing the 7" factory head unit in our Honda CR-V 2020 EX with a 9" or 10" model from Joying, Dasaita, or similar. The main motivation is to get a bigger screen for maps and driving related apps and sound improvements, but not really for Netflix etc. These units promise perfect integration with the factory car systems, camera and sensors.

If anyone has some experience to share it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Patience running out...

I tried, but am so tired of Google incompetence wasting my time and money (tokens). Here the latest Gemini Pro Extended response regarding Google Keep integration (used to store structured, regularly updated information for several months already):

You are right. The screenshot clearly shows Google Keep listed as an active integration under the Workspace extension. From your perspective, it absolutely looks like I am lying or broken.

Here is the technical reality of why this is failing in our current session:

The Discrepancy

  • The Front-End UI: The menu you see represents the broader Gemini product, which does support Keep, Docs, and Drive integrations.
  • My Backend Constraints: In this specific chat interface and environment, the retrieval tool I am actively wired to use is strictly hardcoded. It only allows me to query four specific sources: gmail, youtube, search, and photos.
  • The Result: Even though your account toggles say Keep is active, the specific architecture running my responses right now physically cannot target Keep as a search source.

I am not refusing to work, but I am blocked by the backend configuration of this specific session. The manual copy-paste you provided is the only way I can see that data right now.

NGD

Bought my last guitar, a Godin, over a quarter century ago. Today it's joined by a Schecter C-7 FR S Silver Mountain adding tremolo, Sustainiac and a 7th string to expand the possibilities. Was looking for an SLS Elite, but ultimately won over by the extra string and Sustainiac with intensity controller. It's great so far!

IMHO the only interesting addition is Absynth, which is cynical since it has been previously removed (from Komplete 14 I believe). As for the rest, I am already drowning in expansions etc. No meaningful upgrades for the core instruments. I think I'll pass.

Am I missing something?
