US Mobile, Visible, or Total?
Which do you recommend? I have 3 lines. None of us use more than maybe 20gb a month, and only 1 line uses a little hotspot. Nothing crazy.
Currently on T-Mobile Essentials and it kinda sucks tbh. Especially in rural areas.
Open to all opinions and suggestions.
Thanks!
Best alternative to H2O Wireless?
H2O wireless is having major service problems lately and I need to switch carriers.
What service fulfills these qualifications:
- runs on AT&T/T-mobile networks.
- pay as you go.
- offers physical sim cards.
- you can add phone load to your number with a PIN code you can buy at the cell phone shops in our cities?
The $10 for 90 days is very important to me.
I do not use this number for any data/internet at all.. none. i just need talk and text.
Can anyone recommend a service that will work for me?
Thank you.
Phone not eligible for total $25 BYOD. Can I activate with a different IMEI and just put the sim in this instead?
I have an unlocked Motorola Moto G Stylus 2025 that was previously a free phone from total wireless. I signed up for the service last year but was unhappy with the plan for $35/month so I let the line die and moved to MobileX for my extra line. When I tried to reactive the phone the $25/month plan was not an option. I called and had them remove the device and cancel my old account but it still doesn't allow me to pick the $25 plan online.
Can I try using the imei from an older unlocked Motorola phone instead and then once activated swap the sim over to the new phone or will they eventually stop service or try to charge me $50/month?
AT&T Prepaid "Administrative & Regulatory Recovery Fee"
Just received a text from AT&T informing that prepaid plans will be subject to this fee of $2.63 starting June 22nd. I reached out since I'm on an annual plan, and it was unclear how this would be applied.
Apparently it's applied per service payment, so if you pay once annually you will only pay the fee that one time, but for a monthly plan you pay it every month.
Note that this surcharge is not a government tax, but an entirely discretionary AT&T imposed-fee (so it's really a surreptitious way for AT&T to increase the price without saying they increased the price).
*Edit: Info also at https://www.att.com/legal/terms.otherWirelessFeeSchedule.html
> AT&T Administrative & Regulatory Cost Recovery Fee (Beginning 06/22/2026)
> $2.63 per service payment (excluding payments in non-AT&T branded national retail locations)
> This fee is not a tax or charge which the government requires AT&T collect from its customers and may include aggregate costs incurred in prior years that are not yet fully recovered.
How is this legal? Lycamobile
I live in France. In almost every store you see the Lycamobile Sims offering 250gb and 350gb data deals at a low price.
Personally I got the 250gb deal. Because I don't have WiFi at home for the moment I use this SIM for internet. I saw that my monthly allocation was going to expire the next day and I had 130gb left so I used it to download a couple of games. The next day (1st day of new billing period) they blocked my internet entirely with only 500mb used of that month's data allocation.
They told me this is because I used more than 300gb over the past 60 days. It takes a week to get a response from their email to unblock you and the phone support is hell.
How is it legal for them to sell 250gb and especially 350gb bundles when their hidden policies state you are not allowed to use the entire allocation? Isn't that fraudulent?
US Cellular to what?
I was told that I need to move my account of of US Cellular but I have no clue where.
Currently have 4 prepaid lines, total bill under $150, have and use Hotspot.
My usage:
Line 1 under 5gb
Line 2 & 3 under 15 gb
Line 4 under 18gb, this line must have Hotspot.
All Android devices fully owned and unlocked.
I must be able to port phone numbers. Line 1 is due for new phone but I can buy is separately.
Lines 2, 3 and 4 are used internationally but special provision not required.
Debating Att and tmobile.
Good to go changing annual plan
How do you change annual plans mid cycle? Is their proration etc?
Best no contract service for eventual migration to T-Mo
Family of 4, currently have 2 Tello, and two Red Pocket plans. Last December, I came across a T-Mo plan where they gave 4 free 17 Pros for a plan cost of $100/m with a 24-month commitment. If I recall, they did require a port-in (I'm trying to find the details on that deal but can't), but was limited to certain carriers.
Our current phones are over 4 years old, and I'd like to take advantage of such an offer should one pop up later this year. The question is, which is the best no-contract carrier to take advantage of such a deal? Two of us (one Tello and one RP) don't care about our current numbers (so can quickly create a new line and port those numbers to T-Mo). The other two would have to port their current numbers to the new MVNO, and then on to T-Mo..
iPhone 14 eSIM-locked but not physical SIM-locked?
Hi everyone I hope this is the right place to ask about this sort of thing.
I just bought a 3rd-party refurbished iPhone 14 (in Europe) and am having trouble putting an eSIM on it. I have an existing physical sim from an Australian provider, and that's working just fine on this phone. It can take and give calls, texts, etc. I'm not seeing any error messages about the SIM being incompatible with the phone or whatever.
However, when I go into settings, it says that the phone is Service Provider Locked. Not carrier locked, if that makes a difference. And whenever I try to install my eSIM for my actual current plan here in the EU, it just gives me this error: "Unable to Activate eSIM. You can try again or contract your service provider for assistance."
I can't find any information on who the phone is actually locked to, and different IMEI checkers give me different answers. Some say it's locked, some say otherwise. One suggests the phone is locked to Ultra mobile in the US, and that the phone is a US model, but it has a physical sim tray so that can't be the case.
I'm honestly just real baffled about all this. I can still return the phone but I'd like to avoid the hassle. Does anyone know why my phone is half acting like it's locked, and half like it's not? Can I do anything about it? I've contacted the seller about it but I don't expect anything more than an offer to return it.
Thanks for any insight.
Google fi last day for $25 unlimited free 2 months
Dm for the $60 bill credit I just signed up today didn't have to pay anything and ported my number over. I would share my referral code but I can't on this subreddit.
I use less than 2GB data per month but i value service quality, and want to pay $25/m or less. What are my options?
I’m currently using visible $25 for years and trying to switch to total wireless $25 byod primarily due to prioritization. But thought to just do a sanity check here. My understanding about carriers are very outdated but my last impression from 6years ago with tmobile was bad. I do value international roaming as i travel abroad 2-3 times a year (canada and asia/europe).
Potential PdaNet+ trial workaround. (No sketchy APKs needed, no file modifications)
(Instructions based on a Galaxy S20)
Disable cellular data on your phone. (from the drop-down menu it is the side-by-side up and down arrows ((you'll likely have to customize the buttons on the menu to add it))) (unsure if airplane mode works - if you try it and it does work, please say so, unsure if toggling cellular data is available on most phone brands)
Enable tethering in PdaNet+ on your mobile phone.
Connect on your PC/laptop/whatever (it will connect and say that there is no internet detected from your phone through the PdaNet notification toast)
Re-enable cellular data on your phone.
Enjoy not getting disconnected.
(Please bear in mind that this just may be a fluke that works in my favor. If it works for you, please say so, if not, I am sorry - I cannot help you, this is from the results of a trial and error process I went through after the FoxFi Key app was removed from Google Play Store prior to me getting the S20.)

Which MVNO offers the best bang for your buck when it comes to their $25/month UNLIMITED PLAN?
Best $20 to $25 unlimited plan for 2026?
I have been on US Mobile for the past year but my deal is ending, well my plan is unlimited. I've been staying under 15 GB monthly. I am looking at a few options like Total Wireless and redpocket, as well as old picks like Visible and Mint. My concern is prioritization and de-prioritization. I am thinking of sticking with the Verizon network. What would be you all's recommendations? I see that Total has the new BYOD plan for about $25 a month but I also recently saw a RedPocket Verizon promo for about $20 a month. I'm not sure if that's QC8 or QC7.
T-Mobile Magenta vs. T-Mobile Prepaid
I am currently on the Magenta plan and started looking into their prepaid plans to save money. My current bill is at $220 for 3 lines. On the prepaid plan I'm considering, for 3 lines it would come out to $105/mo. which includes:
- 5-year price guarantee
- Unlimited 5G with 50GB of premium data
- Unlimited talk and text
- AutoPay monthly discount
- Unlimited mobile hotspot with 3G speeds
- T-Mobile Tuesdays
- MLB.TV (when available) - I don't care for this
- Scam Block
I was looking at my current plan details and there are benefits/extras that I don't use/need like Netflix, Apple TV, etc. The differences I saw is that with my current plan these are included:
High-speed data With T-Mobile, you get high-speed data on our nationwide 5G & 4G LTE network to back you up
5G access at no extra cost. A 5G capable device is required to receive 5G network access. Coverage not available in some areas. Some uses may require certain plan or feature.
Wi-Fi calling
With Wi-Fi Calling, you can make and receive calls and messages over Wi-Fi, just as if you were on the network. This is particularly helpful in areas where the cellular signal is weak or nonexistent (basements, rural areas, etc.), but there is a strong and reliable Wi-Fi signal. Wi-Fi Calling also lets you to call the U.S. from anywhere in the world for free! And T-Mobile phones have Wi-Fi Calling built right in.

Would it be better to switch to the prepaid plan? Also, what does 3G speed look like? Is that too slow?
Experiences on consumer cellular?
Im looking at switching a family member from at&t to cc 1 gig plan. Will there be a noticeable difference in service ? They're a light user so it makes sense for them.
Will Total Wireless's new All Max 65 plan support 4K video streaming? Can anyone confirm this?
?
Is Lexvor back in action?!?!? 10 dollars for 20gb on Verizon towers.
So I checked the website and it's back up. It looks like the 10 dollar plan is also available. 1gb then throttled to 5Mbps is a good deal. Just wanted to let people know.
