I was finally able to move it to my iPhone 17 Pro Max today from my Pixel. It is using the new TMobile_Wholesale_US bundle as the generic MVNO bundle doesn't have these features and it still shows as "Carrier" in the carrier field.

Performance is excellent as you would expect from QCI 6.

Hopefully when iOS 27 releases officially here soon we will see more independent MVNOs with these features (and more, as the bundle has feature parity with T-Mobile postpaid basically).

Despite saying that Simplicity will not have any subsidies, Verizon continues to subsidize the price of some flagships.

I noticed when the Z Fold8s launched that Verizon was offering some deals on new devices. Interestingly, they're even offering these discounts when you buy the device outright and activate it on Simplicity. They added new deals for the Pixels today.

Current offers:

S25 Edge: $284 off - $815.99 outright, $22.66/mo if choosing to finance for 36 months.

S26: $180 off - $719.99 outright, $19.99/mo if choosing to finance for 36 months.

S26 Ultra: $340 off - $959.99 outright, $26.66/mo if choosing to finance for 36 months.

Z Fold8: $460 off - $1439.99 outright, $39.99/mo if choosing to finance for 36 months.

Z Fold8 Ultra: $420 off - $1679.99 outright, $46.66/mo if choosing to finance for 36 months.

Pixel 11 Pro: $380 off - $839.99 outright, $23.33/mo if choosing to finance for 36 months.

Pixel 11 Pro XL: $340 off - $959.99 outright, $26.66/mo if choosing to finance for 36 months.

Simplicity is also unique in that you aren't fixed to just 36 month financing. You can choose between 12, 24, 36, and 48 months. For a 256GB Pixel 11 Pro XL this means a range of $79.99 for 12 months to $19.99/mo for 48 months. As the device is locked to Verizon until it's paid in full, this gives a lot more flexibility than myPlan. I don't know what happens if you try to pay off the rest of the device to leave early. I would imagine since Verizon is actually discounting the retail price, you wouldn't forfeit anything, but I don't want to assume that either. We will have to wait and see what people report.

If buying outright, you should be eligible to have the device unlocked, which means you can leave any time after you get that done.

We will have to see if Verizon continues this with the new iPhones but with them allowing the option to just pay the discounted full retail price instead of financing, it makes Simplicity pretty competitive. Google wants $1419 for a 512GB Pixel 11 Pro XL while Verizon wants $1079.99 on Simplicity. If you're porting in a number you get the plan for $30 (you may have to fight them for it if you're on a Verizon Value brand as the FAQ on the website says you're eligible but internally employees are being told not to honor it, which means you should be prepared to send Verizon a Notice of Dispute to let them know they can honor it or pay thousands to go to arbitration over it if you're going this route). A year of Simplicity, assuming $7 of taxes and fees, is $444, which when you take into account the price of the phone makes your total $1523.99. That's paying $104.99 more than just buying the phone from Google and you have a year of service included.

That said, US Mobile has a better deal on the 11 Pro XL. The new Pixel 11 Pro XL 512GB is $899 when purchasing a plan and the annual Unlimited Premium is $299, for a total of $1198, which saves you $325.99 over going with Simplicity. You can save another $100 if you don't need Premium and go for Starter instead. Still though, it's crazy to see Verizon coming within striking distance of MVNO offerings and if you plan to finance with Verizon and don't mind being locked until it's paid, it's a good deal.

PS: If you're going to buy a new Pixel 11, make sure you get a 512GB Pro/XL, as Google cut the RAM from 16GB to 12GB on the base Pro models this year and the regular 11 is 12GB no matter the storage configuration.

I can officially confirm that Lexvor does have QCI 6.

My line was provisioned incorrectly as my link was not fully reset and was QCI 7 since I got it last week but I checked this evening and it flipped to QCI 6. They had to escalate it to T-Mobile and wait.

Unfortunately, halfway through a speed test, it was throttled to 5Mbps down and 5Mbps up, but before that, it did indeed pull down my Light Speed line on QCI 7 as it should. I'll have to wait for support to fix the data on my line as they did the QCI now.

Nice to see that someone besides Google Fi finally has QCI 6 though!

Lexvor invite link for anyone that wants the plan. Please don't make any further posts or comments asking about this.

Since there is high demand for this and the referrer doesn't get anything extra (everyone who signs up with the exclusive link emailed to them starts off at the max tier so we get nothing from this), I decided to pin a link to keep the subreddit clutter down as people keep making threads and breaking the referral rules anyway.

https://useair.net/shop?ref=TFJ2Q

Some notes so that we don't keep spawning more Q&A threads:

  • You get 100GB of high speed data. It will start out at QCI 7. If you refer 15 people with your own link, you get bumped to 200GB and QCI 6.

  • Hotspot comes out of the same bucket.

  • It uses the T-Mobile network.

*edited to reflect the real terms of the offer. There was a huge miscommunication with this offer and the CEO will be making a post about it but basically, those of us who signed up to be notified or previously had Lexvor service get 200GB + QCI 6 out of the gate. Everyone we refer has to refer 15 people to get 200GB + QCI 6 for themselves and will be 100GB + QCI 7 otherwise.

I apologize for the misunderstanding here, this process wasn't made clear in the post announcing it. It's still a great deal for 100GB of QCI 7.

Purge user doesn't seem to be working?

I banned someone today and tried the purge user tool to purge them but it doesn't appear to have done anything at all.

Is there an easy way to just do it myself? The user doesn't have a ton of post history.

EDIT: For anyone else who has this issue down the line, it was because I attempted the purge from a comment I already removed. I went and found one I didn't remove and the tool worked as it should.

Reminder: Be respectful when you post and don't make racist and xenophobic posts. You will be banned.

This should be obvious but personal attacks on people that work at or run companies with no foundational basis are unacceptable. They bring nothing positive to the conversation. If you have a problem with your service, great, feel free to post. Leave out the personal attacks on the people who work there. No more leveling accusations like scammer, calling out where they're from, digging into their social media and attacking them based on that, etc. If you have a problem with that person, this is not the place to air that grievance. We have let a lot of things slide under the radar as far as the be respectful rule goes but now we have people leveling scammer accusations without even knowing the product or anything about the person. This is ridiculous.

And now this person is going and disrupting every other wireless subreddit because they got banned.

https://preview.redd.it/w3y4qnb8odgh1.png?width=716&format=png&auto=webp&s=de83e37183add0ddfea3295ab62a84091b7fc906

So apparently a company having fans is a problem that rises to the level that the CEO should be called a scammer based on that alone. It's not funny. These sorts of comments hurt small business owners and they're also still humans who have feelings. I've seen it with US Mobile here, both with the CEO and the people who work for him, and I've also seen it with the CEO of Lexvor, to give some specific examples (but they're not the only ones). You guys should see the disgusting reports that come in. People are so brazen when they can report anonymously. Enough is enough. If you can't post without attacking someone on a personal level, you will be banned.

Mixet shower faucet, should the temperature handle turn 360 degrees or not?

We live in an apartment that has this Mixet shower faucet in it. It gives us nothing but problems. If you turn it just slightly it will either be cool (never cold) or scalding hot and you can spin it around freely. Googling tells me that it should only spin 180 degrees, which matches every other shower I've had before.

We put in a maintenance request today because my partner was showering and had a hard time just getting the water to turn off (which of course, we couldn't replicate with the dude here, so we looked like morons) and they're claiming it is working exactly as it should and does in every apartment so they won't replace it.

I'm guessing that they just don't want to do it because they'll have to shut off the water to multiple units to do it. We've been pretty happy with this place until it comes time to shower and we were just living with it until it became difficult to turn off.

He turned the hot water heater down (my partner is going to be really unhappy not to be able to have extra hot showers but this doesn't bother me really) and also fixed the orientation as it was installed upside down so hot was cold and cold was hot (not that it matters because when you adjust it in the shower you never know what you'll get regardless) and then left.

It's pretty crazy how far T-Mobile has come here

GE washer making a loud grinding noise, apartment sent out a tech to repair it, he said he replaced the clutch, it still sounds terrible. What's wrong with it? This can't be normal.

We are afraid it's going to just break altogether. The guy claimed that it will be fine indefinitely but it sure sounds like it's really struggling.

We don't overload it, usually the drum is just over half full, sometimes even less than that, and we always use precise fill.

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who responded. Good to hear that it's normal for it to be loud like this although it's obnoxious and I can't believe anyone tolerates this thing in their home unless they have no choice.

Does anyone know if any of the Spin rental models are higher weight capacity?

Our city subsidizes these so they're everywhere and it would be cool to get to use them. I'm 228 pounds without my clothes on, which puts me around 235 with clothes and a backpack. Their terms say 220 but they have many models and I know that there are scooter models with 265 pound capacities, just curious if any of the Spin models fit that. Like I would probably be fine to ride any of them as long as I'm not trying to jump curbs and crap (which I wouldn't do) but my partner is 250 and would like to ride with me.

I can't believe they made Guild Duel pay to win by tossing in mithril points.

This is just disgusting. I figured it was only $5 so I purchased the $5 monthly diamond package early but no, it turned from 120 to 280 after that. Anyone happen to know how high it goes?

I think this might be the final nail in the coffin for this game with me. It's bad enough that all the whales abandoned everyone else to form mega guilds everywhere but now they get yet another advantage over the rest of us in just being able to buy points.

EDIT: It goes much higher than this. Someone suggested it might be unlimited as they've seen it raise to 9000.

Is this normal for a 9070 XT Prime OC? The fans are so loud (and yes it’s on quiet profile, it’s still anything but quiet)

This is the loudest graphics card I’ve ever had. This can’t possibly be normal. The core temp is 50C but the hotspot is in the 70s and the fan RPM is in the 3300 range. Is it defective? It’s so much louder than the 3080 Ti it replaced that ran way hotter.

It performs very well other than the fan noise.

Apple to raise product prices, says that it's unavoidable and they can't shield consumers anymore - analysts estimate the iPhone 18 Pro will need to go up $270 to maintain Apple's product margins

Not good.

> Research firm TechInsights claims Apple will need to make the ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ around $270 more expensive to keep its existing profit margin.

...

> While memory chip makers like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are increasing production capacity, much of that added capacity will prioritize server chips. Demand for consumer-device chips is expected to continue to outpace supply. At the same time, Apple needs to increase the DRAM in its devices to support new AI features. Cook likened the memory shortages to a hundred-year flood. "I've never seen anything like it in any area in over 40 years," he said.

https://www.macrumors.com/2026/06/17/apple-increasing-prices/

If Apple is saying that, things about about to get really bad for all of us, and now we know why Verizon launched a plan without phone subsidies bundled in.

I was expecting a hike but I was hoping it would skip the 18 series so I could upgrade this year and hold onto it for years. Now I'm going to have to wait and see what prices look like.

If you guys need new devices, you might want to consider getting them now before subsidies evaporate across the board. While flagship prices will be affected, midrange and entry level will see dramatically higher price hikes percentage-wise, as they already have extremely slim margins to begin with.

Warning: Do Not Port In Or Make Changes To Your Account

With the website and service plan refresh of 5/13/2026 Total Wireless has become plagued with problems.

New customers porting in their beloved numbers have been left without service. Their numbers picked from the previous carrier and no longer working, yet also not working on Total either. DO NOT PORT IN UNTIL THEY GET THIS RESOLVED!

Some existing customers have been unable to log into the website, but can log into the App.

Some existing customers have had new astronomical renewal rates appear in their accounts, usually because of multiple renewals appearing scheduled for the same renewal date.

Some existing customers on post 7/11/2024 Total Wireless plans have lost their promotion 50% off BYOD rate or ByeBye Promotional rates and/or have lost their multi-line discounts with every line set to renew at full fare.

Some existing customer have had all lines in their account gone missing from the My Lines page (previously called Manage My Lines) with no resolution in site. This means you can not unlock your line so that you can port out if you wanted to, and it means you can not renew your plan from the website or app if you wanted to.

The Total Rewards system is a mess with referral points maturing at double the earned amount and pending points removed at double the pending amount leaving folks with negative pending balances. Also new referral codes have appeared in some account rewards page that yield an 'invalid' error message when used.

Existing customers, regardless of legacy Total Wireless, Total by Verizon, or post 7/1/2024 Total Wireless plans are unable to purchase renewal plans with reward points. Legacy customers simply have teh option greyed out on the website and app. Post 7/11/2024 Total Wireless customers only see renewal with reward points offered per line, not the multi-line group rate, and only at the full plan rate, not any multi-line discounted rates. In fact buying a plan with points on post 7/11/2024 rate plans yeilds in the transaction happily going through, your points being deducted, and no plan being added to your account.

BBB and FCC complaints yield call backs that are nothing but lip service, not resulting in solutions but kicking the problem down the road with not estimated completion date or firm call back date. Email to VZValueNOD@verizon.com are not responded to.

There has been no acknowledgement from Total/Tracfone/VerizonValue about these ongoing problems, what is being done about it, and when we should expect things to get resolved.

Anyone can make mistakes, but making a mistake as broad as this, impacting so many customers, and not announcing that there are ongoing issue they are presumably working to resolve, speaks volumes about the credibility of a company and you needs to decide if it is the sort of company you can trust to do business with.

Hope this helps somebody from making a mistake of porting in and loosing their number, or having existing customers refrain from making any changes on their account while Total struggles to fix the problems they created for their customers.

Please post comments describing other issues you may have encountered as a result of the 5/13/2026 website update.

Thank you.

Verizon just fired the opening salvo in the coming postpaid price war with the end of device subsidies

Verizon's new Simplicity Plan is a shocking departure from the norm with postpaid.

Single line and two line users no longer subsidize those with many lines. You can get the plan for $30 with a port or $45 without (these prices include the $10 autopay discount). There are no phone subsidies included here, those are full price. No activation fees, no upgrade fees, and trade in values are given as a single credit, no more recurring bill credits.

Check out this example from their site.

A line on Simplicity with a ported number and a 17 Pro Max would be $63.33 per month. They would give me $500 for my 512GB 16 Pro Max (Apple themselves give $695 though in this specific instance so definitely check the trade in value of your specific device with the manufacturer when determining if you want to even get a phone Verizon at all - people who can get approved for postpaid financing will typically be easily approved for a credit card with a long promo APR to still be able to finance at 0% after all), making my effective price when spreading that $500 out over 36 months ~$50 a month.

As for the plan specifics:

  • You get 500GB of premium data (yes, looking at the terms, it's definitely QCI 8 - no blurb about deprioritization during congestion and 5G UW is advertised, which Verizon doesn't do for QCI 9 plans) before a throttle to 4Mbps.

  • You get 10GB of hotspot at high speed and then it's throttled to 1Mbps.

  • You get 2GB of high speed data in Mexico and Canada plus unlimited talk and text as well as texting to 200 countries.

  • You get satellite texting.

Interestingly, the terms at the bottom the plan page seem to suggest that you get 5G SA enhanced performance via network slicing for streaming and video calling like Ultimate does as well. I don't see that anywhere else though so it's probably an early plan details error.

There are early upgrade programs available as well to get you to get your device from Verizon. These programs are $35 a month for phones up to $830 and $50 a month for phones up to $1200. They allow you to upgrade when trading in your device. You have to have the device for at least a month and pay off a third of it then you return that device to Verizon and buy a new device at full price and they waive the remaining balance on the old one. This is a rather niche option and it hikes the price back to what a single line of the premium postpaid plans was basically but it does exist for those who see value in it. The thing is, it already doesn't cover the S26 Ultra today as it starts at $1299 and Apple will be hiking prices this year or next as well so it prices out the phones that power users actually want.

Smartphones are getting too expensive. The carriers are having a hard time squeezing more pennies from people to cover all of their subsidies. The future is one where you buy your phone separate from your plan and I'm here for it. It will drive prices down for those of us who need single lines and force people with multiple lines to pay their own way like they always should have. This plan is a great start. If we can truly get to a point where consumers are used to paying full price for their devices again, it will finally bring more phone models to the US market as they won't have to compete with carrier subsidies anymore either.

Pre-Paid Starter Monthly. Speed Throttling?

I recently switched from an old T-Mobile prepaid plan to their newer ones starting this month. I got the Starter Monthly plan. I read "Unlimited 5g Data, 15gb premium" and in the small text that I may notice slower speeds when the network is busy.

Today I got a text informing I will be throttled at 2G 128kbps speeds. I called 611 and they confirmed I will be throttled at 128 kbps after the 15gb, and then tried to upsell me on the next plan higher.

Am I nuts? For others on this plan, is this actually the data speed I'm going to be capped at? Or is my service rep (hopefully) stupid and incompetent, and I'm not actually getting bait and switched from deceptive fine print, because I feel tricked.

Helium customers: Welcome to US Mobile

https://preview.redd.it/bcui5aa9ci5h1.png?width=1440&format=png&auto=webp&s=6f9471aa5b359a17fb5bdd10bfa51c7eb3d2b6e8

If you haven’t heard the news, Helium Mobile has been acquired by Noble Mobile, led by Andrew Yang.

First, credit where it’s due. Helium took a real swing at reimagining wireless with a decentralized network powered by customers. That’s the kind of ambition this industry needs more of. Over time, they evolved into a more traditional MVNO, but the willingness to experiment deserves respect.

Noble Mobile, the acquiring company, is bringing its own twist to the market with a “data deductible” model: pay $50/month and earn money back for unused data. It’s an interesting idea and I genuinely love seeing companies challenge industry assumptions.

But when you run the math, even customers who maximize the rebate can end up paying more for a few gigabytes of data than what our customers pay on US Mobile’s Unlimited Starter plan.

Innovation is important. Value matters too.

At US Mobile, we’ve spent years building something different: A best-in-class customer experience. Access to all three major networks on one plan. Integration with Starlink. Industry-leading flexibility. And international features building toward One Global Plan.

All of this has been built with constant feedback from the best customers in the world.

We’re grateful to everyone who keeps pushing the industry forward. If you’re a Helium or Noble customer looking for a plan that simply works — with more choice, more control, and more network flexibility than ever before — we’d love to welcome you to US Mobile.

We’ve put together exclusive offers just for you, only until June 11:

Proton has some incredible infrastructure

Just upgraded the Xfinity from 120/24 to 1170/117 today and decided to see what WireGuard looked like.

I have to say, I'm shocked. When I had fiber I only saw over 1Gbps on the browser proxy extension. This is like 95% of my downstream and 97% of my upstream being available when using WireGuard. Absolutely nuts.

How is US Bank when it comes to personal spend on business cards?

Just got the email today that my AMEX Business Amazon Prime card is going to US Bank today and what the final rewards are going to be. I am not sure if I'm going to keep it. AMEX didn't care one bit about personal spend so it was a nice secondary Amazon card but 99% of any spend I'll put on it will be personal so I'll just axe it now if US Bank is going to hassle me over it.
