I'm playing 3SRW on original hardware, doing a casual playthrough for my first run before I use a walkthrough. I unfortunately failed to save Gato earlier in the game, but I didn't really think anything of it at the time. But now I'm on the mission "Nightmare of Solomon", and the Galgau just isn't dying. I've spent 50 turns on it so far and I can't tell if I'm actually putting a dent in it.

I was under the impression that it has 24,000 HP. I know about its beam coating, so I haven't been healing it. I've had Nu Gundam and Psybuster hammering it with funnels since around turn 4, and Hyaku Shiki, ZZ Gundam, Psybuster, and Nahel Argama all using map attacks whenever they can. I used units with Flash to draw fire until it ran out of its big attacks, and now I've got Daitarn in melee range soaking up its melee hits (and counterattacking for additional damage) while the rest of my team flails at it with whatever they can bring to bear. Based on how much damage Psyflash and Highmega Particle Cannon do when I can see the numbers (700-1000) I estimate I must be dealing somewhere around 2000 damage per turn just from funnels alone... so why isn't the fight over yet?

I have of course looked up every bit of information I can, and I see that I really should have saved Gato so I wouldn't HAVE to fight this beast, but none of the FAQs or walkthroughs mention anything about it otherwise.

(Side question, potentially related: Why does Daitarn have more HP at the start of the turn than it did at the end of the enemy's turn? I didn't think units had passive healing...)

So, it has been some time since the last DLC. What are the chances for any more to drop? I have been trying to save up money for SRW Y and I want to try and factor in the DLC cost. (I can only afford to buy two games a year so it is a very important decision) Or perhaps is there a new OG game on the horizon?

So I just noticed when someone on the team has an innate skill like Potential it has L* and the level number. When I buy the skill there's a + 1 after.

Does that mean its Level 1+1 after I buy it?

Are they in the business still, at all ? Any of them ? Every time a new SRT game comes out, i take a look at some attacks...and those guys either dont get it, or dont care at all, it's all very bland and gets blander with every new title. I'm not even asking for great sakuga, but i just look at posing, key frames, the overall idea and direction...it's just bad.

Like in one of the games they added Rein Weiss, and instead of it having afterimages which you can barely see - it just makes many copies of itself. Who approved that crap ? They cant even copy\paste properly. I'll take the OG2-type animations, even in 4 fps, over any recent SRT title.

Playing SRW X has been fun at first I thought it was the weakest story out of the ones I've played (Y and 30) but as time moved on I started to fall in love with the story. While there's still some weak points in it it's still an amazing story.

been wanting to play an og game and wondering how to get dark prison

Hello! I just started getting into SRW. I tried getting into the series for a long time but all my life but it kinda just never clicked. Few years ago I got 30 and was really disappointed on how easy it was, even in the hardest difficulty, and ended up dropping it.

Recently though I got Y because of the Kamen Rider W dlc and I'm hooked af. 200 hours and still counting, just loving every second of it. It's still kinda easy, but at least I feel it still requires some resource usage and minimal strategy, so I'm ok with that.

Probably not playing the most recent entries next, eyeing OG PS2 or W right now, but I'm still curious what are the general opinions on the most recent games, especially since I loved Xelguard and would like to play X in the future because of it. Also considering 30 got really bashed, I wonder if those games are similar to it.

Hi guys. I just realised that I have been playing SRW since very long ago.

I understand Chinese and have very very basic Japanese reading skill over the years of Japanese famicon games.

My first was in 1993 with a bootleg version of the 2nd Super Robot Wars (第2次超级机器人大战), bought it for family gatherings so that the kids have something to do when we drink.

It was just a bad imitation of the original but it got my older nephew interested and so I bought the original Japanese cartridge to try, planning to surprise them. In the end I ended up liking the game so much.

Same for my final fantasy and dragon quest journey. All started as toys for my nephews.

What was your first super robot war game?

As a reminder, I'm going to do a barebones summary as to what happened in the game to encourage y'all to read the actual posts. I put a lot of time into this line-by-line translation, you know.

Chapter 1: The Mysterious Invaders - Colonies start exploding on Mars as aliens descend onto Earth. The first to respond is Big Falcon and their defender, Voltes V.

Chapter 2: Trider G7 Appears! - The EDF's Far East Branch forms the Daiku-Maryu Squad and contracts Takeo General Company for assistance. Their first mission is to repel aliens at Izu.

Chapter 3: Photon Power Laboratory - The Daiku-Maryu chases the fleeing aliens to the Photon Power Lab, which is also under attack by Kikaijus.

Chapter 4: League Militaire - The EDF gets an SOS signal from a transport plane fleeing an alien- and BESPA-occupied Europe.

Chapter 5: Ryusei Date - While the Daiku-Maryu Squad heads to Europe to see exactly what's goin on, the aliens launch an attack on Big Falcon. Their only hope is an experimental mech and its very annoying pilot.

Chapter 6: Point Kasarelia - Having arrived at Europe, the Daiku-Maryu must not participate in a battle against the League Militaire and BESPA's Yellow Jackets.

Just started playing last weekend. I'm always doing the extra and the side missions before doing the recommended and starred missions.

Just got Ryoma and Shin Getter Dragon last night.

So far, I am using the main protagonists from each series. For the OGs, I'm using the main character, Grungust, SRX and Cybaster.

Haven't done much mech upgrading but I gave each units that I usually deploy with 5 upgrades on Sight. Playing on easiest mode.

Hoping to recieve pointers/tips on the final list of units that I should focus using and upgrading until the end.

I saw someone mention on Twitter about a og Gaiden translation patch, either in the works, or already completed. Couldn't find much more, not in Akurasu, or otherwise. Anyone know anything? Or was it fake?

Okay, so I loved how SRW30 decided to celebrate 30 years of the franchise by having protagonists from all over the history of the franchise guest star in the game by showing up from other dimensions. It was a really cool choice! What I liked even more was that they came from different games, so the Masaki and Ryusei weren't both from, say, OG. I'm trying to remember who came from where, however.

Ryusei was Alpha, Gilliam was 4, Irm was F? Besides the ones who were exclusive to one game/timeline, where were some of the others from?
