Fire in Surrey right now. 140 and 100a. (6am)
Fire trucks are already battling the blaze. They arrived not too long ago.

Nothing to reflect upon.( Seemed like a cool pt.2). Mostly likely always, someone is worse day than you.
Stay safe out here.
I realize im guilty myself of only posting news etc. We've been getting out more lately and thought Id share a few of my son's favorite art/views in the city center area. Feel free to suggest spots if you like! Cheers
Could anyone recommend an IPTV service for Surrey/Delta. I'm paying over $300 a month now for cable, Netflix, and Prime but still find it hard to find anything worth watching. I've heard about IPTV, but know very little about it. Thank you.
Hi! Our family (2 adults, 4 kids) are planning to move here soon. Could we live in South Surrey without owning a car for about a year or would it not be feasible if we want to go to downtown Vancouver from time to time?
Crossing the street at the intersection (104 & 144), waited for the light to turn green and the walk signal to appear, enter the intersection and some stupid fuck in a minivan turns and swerves around me and 2 other pedestrians who are crossing and proceeds down 104 towards Whalley. Didn’t get a look at the driver but did flip them the bird 🖕🏻 Already been hit in the past and that was hell. Sorry not sorry for rant
Speed limit is 50 and people are casually going 70 plus in both lanes. As soon as I get on the bridge I move to right lane so that speeders can pass from left but still some MF is tailgating me. If you are getting late to work then wake up early mfkers. Why are you making driving unsafe for others?
This morning, I was running late for work and was supposed to catch the 5:45 AM bus. Unfortunately, I missed it and had to wait for the 6:00 AM bus. At the time, I felt very frustrated and stressed about being late.
However, when I stepped outside around 5:50 AM, I saw that there had been a serious accident on the very road I take every day to get to my bus.
It made me realize something important: if I had left exactly on time, I could have been on that road when the accident happened. What felt like an inconvenience may actually have been a blessing and a form of protection from God.
Sometimes delays happen for a reason. What seems like a setback may be saving us from something far worse. Every day is a blessing, and every obstacle may carry a hidden purpose.
Missing Chihuahua (Cash) went missing from the area of 157 and 97ave. He slipped out of his harness and took off. We spent hours looking for him to no avail. Please message if found! Thank you!
How are people currently finding out about summer programs for their kids?
I work for a non-profit doing kids camps and we are trying to find ways to reach more people in Surrey and let them know about our program this summer, we have a bunch of free spaces to give away and it’s really a great program.
I won’t mention the charity name because it is not my intention to advertise here, I would just really appreciate any tips people have about where they look for this information for their own kids and families.
Hello. Our contract agree with 50% utility (Hydro, fortis and water bill)
december bill is easy to read and clear. I need help reading the new bill for Apr 29
For december Bill Total Bill: $175.72 for 126 days (July 16 – Nov 19).
Daily House Rate: $175.72 ÷ 126 days = $1.395 per day.
we moved in: Oct 15 – Nov 19 = 35 days.
Total House Cost (during your stay): 35 days × $1.395 = $48.81.
Our 50% Share: $48.81 ÷ 2 = $24.41 water
April bill is 117 days = Nov 19 to Mar 16 (or Nov 20?)
my question is why does April bill says 2025 and 2026? Since I move in Oct 2026. We should just pay the 2026 amount right? I think the landlord hasn't pay 2025 bill is my interpretation correct?
Thank you
Hey, I want to start training for triathlons again. I have a nice dropbar road bike. I live beside newton exchange. I was wondering where there are nice places to bike and train? I'm looking for nice paved paths with no rocks preferably. Maybe a neighbourhood area that I can do loops? The times that I can bike I usually go to ocean park but the times I don't have the car available I would like something local. Anything helps! Non busy roads also work. I do not like riding on 64ave since the lanes are quite narrow.
I rent on the 32th floor of a high-rise managed by a management. 6 nights ago around 3 am a pipe was burst at the 13th floor and caused flooding downward. The fire alarm went off, water was shut off, and elevators were completely out of service. I have a herniated disc and back pain and couldn’t safely walk down 32 floors by stairs, so I missed 2 scheduled work shifts.
Water was back after a day. Elevators are working since yesterday but only by calling to a security number, telling them your floor and security being in the elevator with you. You can’t call it yourself from your floor. It isn’t causing big delays right now but it still feels like a restricted setup.
The amenity floor is also closed with no ETA. It includes gym, bookable rooms etc. Amenities aren’t specifically listed in my signed lease, but they were advertised in building materials/listings and showings.
I emailed management when the elevators were fully down, but they didn’t replied to me still.
Has anyone dealt with something similar? Mainly trying to figure out what my next steps should be and whether it’s worth asking management for a rent credit or compensation.
I genuinely feel for the people who’s apartments were flooded but also trying to understand my options since it's sad for this kind of issue to happened in a relatively new build...
If you’re heading home to Surrey from White Rock in the next few hours, avoid King George. couldn’t see what was the cause clearly, but traffic is backed up all the way from the hill down to Art Knapp nursery and people are turning around where possible. Lots of flashing lights, so presumably a large accident.
If you’re already stuck in that, ugh, I’m sorry.
