Helmet help!

Getting the Tdub in a couple weeks and can't decide on helmet type. Gonna be trail riding with my 8yo mostly so off road hwy use will probably lean 80/20 trail. Should I go ADV or just MX. He is using his MX, but this will be my 1st bike in about 15yrs so I I've gotta get new gear.

Slow-verlanding

Got this bike 6 days ago. Loving it so far.

XR650R, KDX200, and now a TDub.

In the first 50 miles, I understand why folks love these little bikes so much.

Got it for work. Itll probably get more miles than all of them. The trail builders dream bike.

Sometimes it's a good idea to listen the the little voice in your head

In this case that little voice was saying "maybe don't try to go through there"

Tall Rider Upgrades in progress

I’m 6’5” 275 lb and this is my first motorcycle. After a few rides and my motorcycle rider course I realized I needed to either make some changes or get a different bike. Decided to go the modification route as that is half the fun of owning a motorcycl IMO. Rox risers got my bars up and forward, Bradley lowering pegs gave me a little more leg room and Bradley’s HD rear shock and fork spring upgrades are in progress. I’m looking forward to having a plucky, easy rider that I can manage my height and weight on 😎

Any other tall/big guys out there on these?

Tire question

I am not being sarcastic and I'm learning as I go. I grew up riding Honda crf 100s in pretty open pastures with easy truck access (in the event they quit running). So I was originally going to run these tires until they were fubar and split open, because they have tubes. But I talked myself into ordering tubes, tires, and the rim strips for replacement today. I've dropped close to $300, and as someone who is teaching myself to work on bikes via YouTube, I am wondering if I made the right call or if these could have more life in them. I just don't want to be stuck on a trail in a national forest with a blown tire. Did I make the right call in choosing to replace these? I will largely be trail riding in North Georgia and Southern Tennessee, so there is a little bit of Rocky terrain. The tires at Likely original as the bike is 09 and so are the stamps on the tires. They do hold air and I have driven around on pavement for probably 5 mi on them.

Sorta official part of the club

Finally was able to pick it from and immediately started on trying to get it to start.

Let me preface this by saying I have never fully worked on a bike before but I am more mechanically inclined

Managed to get the carb out and that’s sitting and an ultra sonic cleaner right now but the little diaphragm thing with the spring was all dry and cracking, how would I go about getting a new one of that assuming I can manage to clean out the jets and don’t need any extra parts to get the carb working properly.

Tmr I’ll take the carb out of the cleaner and see if anything else needs to be replaced but for now it might just be that diaphragm looking thing.

Other than that tho she does have a seized petcock, need for new fuel lines and filter, bad tires, gotta get a new battery, and no key right now(the family I got it from are still trying to look for it so hopefully they can find it)

I am still looking into your suggestions from my last post but for now priority is to get her running

Loving the milk crate!

Custom rear rack + milk crate= game changer. From picking up groceries to hauling 10L of spare fuel. 👌

GA mud is no joke

I did a guesstimate on how deep the mud was. Been enjoying the hell out of this bike. She has gotten me in and out of the worse situations and keeps chugging along.

Officially joined the club

I finally picked up the 2014 TW200 with 50 miles on it from my Toyota shop owner in Denver. It's like... brand new! 🤗 Thanks for all the advice and help offered prior to me picking it up. Im sure someone here knows, but is this rear rack from the factory?

Joining the club

So I just recently was offered my grandpas 1987 tw200 that’s been sitting for a little bit.

I’m obviously going to take him up on that offer and it’s going to be my first bike I’ve owned.

Other than fixing it up and getting it clean does anyone have any suggestions on things to do/check/get for it?

I haven’t looked super far into the tw200 yet so figured this would be a good place to start, and if you guys want I can post pictures when I go and pick it up and then get it nice and cleaned.

Initial Thoughts on 26 Tdub

So I went into my local dealer yesterday and sat on a Tdub for the first time because I am thinking about getting one. My honest first thoughts were that the seat is too hard and the handlebars are too low. I’m sure there are riser kits for the bars and aftermarket seats that are softer. Can anyone make some suggestions with links to good products?
