Rude Nail Salon owner insisted she was losing money on a gift certificate.

This was quite a few years ago, but having just found this sub, it brought it back to my mind. A friend had given me a gift certificate for a local nail salon / day spa. I took a chance and went in to se if they had a walk on appointment for a facial. They didn't have any availability that day, not an issue, so I asked if I could schedule an appointment for the following weekend. At first, the woman helping me ( the owner) was very friendly, polite, and professional. She set me up with an appointment and we were good to go. When I showed up for the appointment, she was at the front desk again. I mentioned I would be using a gift certificate before the took me back into the spa area. Her demeanor instantly changed, and she went off on a rant of how it was wrong of me to not let her know beforehand that I was using a gift certificate. She then went off, telling me that since it was a gift certificate, she was losing money and essentially giving the service away for free, and then tried to dictate how much I had to tip the service provider. I normally would have just left, but my friend had paid good money and I was pissed off enough to stay if only to rile her up more. The facial was great, I tipped 20% of what the service was listed at, gave it directly to the service provider in cash. Then proceeded post a review about the owners rant. Her reasoning made zero sense to me. Needless to say, the salon did not stay open very long.

Employee at high end bag store

im not usually the type of person to talk about these types of things but this one deeply upset me..

my boyfriend and me traveled to a city nearby since they have more malls and a variety of stores to visit, and after a good day of work we just decided to have a little outing and fun.
we decided to go into the high end bag store everybody knows (not sure if i can post the name due to the rules) at this known mall and there was two girls (employees) around our age:early 20s, one was mopping and the other one was standing there, and soon as we walked in there the one standing gave us the dirtiest up and down looks.

Now, me and my boyfriend make good money, we just don’t choose to spend in on super expensive clothes and what not all the time since our goals right now are somewhere else, but god forbid we walk into this store looking like normal people!

as we were walking around the store looking at the bags we were followed and watched from a rather short distance (i understand they want to make sure nobody steals) but i just felt very offended, even when i asked the employee questions about certain items she seemed like it was such an inconvenience!

-i don’t know, but as the manager or sales rep she is or whoever, if you work in a store, you want to make sales and keep loyal and happy customers, don’t you?

we were genuinely looking forward to get a little something (we can and why not) but certainly not now!
might have to just order online because it was a really unpleasant experience.

i just feel that we shouldn’t judge others, what good does it do to ourselves and others? none!
yes, we are making great money but if we choose to dress simple, is there something wrong with that nowadays?

i hope i am not overreacting or anything, i am just a more sensitive individual and this deeply upset me.

what do you think? has this happened to you?

no I do not want to spin your lucky wheel just to order a grilled cheese sandwich

sat down at a dinner spot today scanned the code on the table and was immediately hit with a giant animated lucky wheel spinning on my phone screen. congratulations you won a free drink coupon if you register with your email.

i am literally starving. I do not want to play a gacha mini game or join a lottery club just to see if you have tomato soup on the menu.

what happened to basic utility. last week i scanned a menuforma link at a food stall and it was literally just the food items on a plain page. zero popups zero floating banner ads zero fake discount wheels.

why are restaurant menus turning into low budget mobile casino games. just show me the food and let me pay.

A spot we can call Deluxe 👀

This is a Buy-Sell-Trade store I had an incident at where the security thought I was stealing and had the staff check everything in my hand (I brought stuff to sell) well wouldn’t you know it I didn’t have anything of theirs and he couldn’t let it go (I thought at first he had a problem with me but then I realized maybe he was just having a bad day) As I walked out of the store the security guard insisted on talking and when I turned around he got in my face and threatened me. (Again not really worth my time since I shop here) As I’m on the street and only after I turn my back to him does he insist on following me to my car hurling insults like come on fight me, you a bitch and when I turned around he continued saying do something (while infront of the liquor store a few stores down) as we stood there for a moment insulting each other i realized he’s trying to get me into assaulting him so they could ban me out of the store (for context: i sell often and always had this feeling they didn’t like how I’d say I’d rather keep my items than give em away for such a low price, also I’m a flea market/event seller and I’ve seen familiar faces working there that also resell vintage clothes and I know they hate competition) so instead I walked him back to his job asked the manager to get their security in line (who’s following me to my car) before have to handle it myself. The entire time he’s being unprofessional, loud, and obnoxious to the point where it was embarrassing to be a party to this and the fact he took it to the public street means he has no regard for being a public nuisance. The staff walked him to the back. And the manager walked me outside, apologized for his behavior and said she’ll talk to the regional manager about this.
The Regional manager gets back to me the next day and tells me their staff mentioned I was saying racist remarks towards the security guard who happened to be black (not knowing my family is half Latin-American and half Black) and proceeded to tell me I’m not allowed back at the store and I asked them to pull up the recording of me saying anything racist but lord and behold she informed me they don’t have audio recording just video proof, so they can’t prove I did or didn’t say those things…. at this point it’s a he said she said situation but since that location already had it out for me they just said the staff feels uncomfortable to deal with me after that (also they said they have a witness who said we were being loud but never once said we exchanged racist remarks. Never once have I been more disappointed in the way things were handled; even after verifying that their guard was pestering me she proceeded to say well you probably deserved it by saying what you said, I’m also not okay with how they lied and tried to say I’m a racist just cause i don’t look black doesn’t mean i go around calling people derogatory names for kicks.

0/5 stars
Chelsea was the lady who called me but when I look up the regional manager for the location it says Kyla so IDK how that goes

Beware don’t even try to be a bit resistant at this location if they wanna see your items let em, they have armed staff and they are unpredictable(I work security too I know I can’t pepper spray or shoot someone without a reason and he just wanted a reason)
