So basically im gonna come to tbilisi around mid august to EU, its my first time ever going abroad let alone study abroad. Im not a very social person but im trying to get out of that type of mindset.

Is there any tips or advice or just any information i should know about tbilisi and georgia in general as in food, culture, dating, EU, just anything and everything. For reference im middle eastern so im pretty sure things are different from here and id like to know what everything would be like.

Landlord trouble

So I just wanted to share a problem and wanted to know your views on it I rented an apartment and then after sometime I want to leave it I informed the son of the owner because the owner didn’t know English quite well. She only communicated in Georgian and the owner’s son was first of all not OK with it, but when I showed him the agreement that I can leave whenever I want so he just sent me to pay some bills that were remaining and I left. I told him before leaving and I paid rent on time and even I lost $300 because I left the apartment because I paid the last month rent and now the owner is calling me messaging me and giving me threats that she’s gonna beat me and she’s saying that she wants me to pay for seven months as stipulated in the contract and what not.

Need honest advice from Indian MBBS students in Georgia (especially TSMU/University of Georgia)

Hi everyone,

I'm an Indian student planning to study MBBS in Georgia next year. My first choices are Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) and the University of Georgia because my long term goal is to pursue postgraduate training and build my medical career in UK.

Before making such a big decision, I'd really appreciate honest feedback from current students or recent graduates.

I have a few questions:

  1. Have you personally experienced racism or discrimination? If yes, how common is it?

  2. Do you generally feel safe living in Georgia?

  3. How is the quality of teaching and clinical exposure?

  4. Are professors supportive of international students?

  5. If you could choose again, would you still study at the same university? Why or why not?

  6. Is there anything you wish someone had told you before moving to Georgia?

  7. Would you recommend Georgia over private medical colleges in India if someone plans to settle in the UK?

I'm looking for honest experiences—the good and the bad. Thank you so much for your help!

Medical School In Georgia?

Hey everyone, I'm from the US considering medical school in Tbilisi, Georgia and would love some insight from anyone who has experience there.

A bit about my situation: I already have a bachelor's degree (biology and psychology double major from a US university) and I'm looking to start as soon as possible, ideally this fall. My end goal is to practice medicine in the US, so the USMLE/ECFMG pathway matters a lot to me.

I've been looking at TSMU, DTMU, TMA, and European University Tbilisi. They all seem to be WDOMS listed and ECFMG eligible, but I'm struggling to understand the real differences as an international student, especially one coming in with a bachelor's already.

A few specific questions:

  1. Which school would you recommend for someone specifically targeting the US Match?

  2. Does having a bachelor's degree open up any accelerated or graduate-entry tracks?

  3. What's the international student experience actually like day to day?

  4. Any red flags or things you wish you knew before applying?

Any advice from current students or graduates would be hugely appreciated!

Confusion with University fees payment

Hello
I am a student at TSMU.
For the upcoming semester, I will be paying my fees via BOG. Is it possible to transfer the fees payment from my BOG to the uni TBC? because I do not have a TBC account, and I already have the required amount in my BOG account, so I do not have any other option.
Could someone please confirm if this is possible (i mean the transaction)?

Transferring Abroad

Hi everyone,

I'm currently a 3rd-year medical student studying in Tbilisi, and I'm looking into transferring abroad without losing too much progress or having to repeat years.

At the moment, I'm considering:

- Romania

- Italy

- Bulgaria

- China

Has anyone here transferred to any of these countries? Which one is the most transfer-friendly for medical students and gives the best chance of keeping credits and continuing from the same year?

I'd really appreciate any advice, experiences, or recommendations. Thanks

rascism

I've never hated a place this beautiful so much — only because some people have made it so hard to even live here. They’ve been rude, mean, and racist.

It’s so hard for me to believe that in 2026 people still choose to be rude and cruel instead of being kind. I always wonder — how hard is it to be kind?

It’s honestly sad how easy it is for people to put others down. I don’t think it takes more than a few seconds to make someone’s day, but so many people still choose to spread hate instead.

I don’t know if some adults in Georgia realize that at the end of the day, we’re just students who left everything back home to come here, study, and build a future. A little kindness could make life feel a little less lonely and a little easier.

I hope one day the students who come here leaving their homes will feel at least a little closer to home because of the people around them.

They think racism is fun on the way back people are calling my friend blackie, ni*** etc

TSMU-MD vs KWU

Making my final decision so requesting input.

Ken Walker University vs TSMU-MD program.

Academically I‘m an average student & plan to write USMLE.

Does KWU help w/USMLE prep like it advertises?

Is TSM-MD as tough as Reddit makes it sound?

Does TSMU help with USMLE prep?

TIA
