PBE - Set 18: Blackthorn + Krug

Hi all! I wanted to make a post on this since I found it helpful in the last game I played. If you place Krug on the Blackthorn space, it dies, breaks apart, and actually still spawns the two baby Krugs! Idk if that's cheesy or not, but it's helpful to not be entirely down a until. At least the baby Krugs can be a bit more fodder to protect the backline. I found they helped with units like Rengar & Kha'Zix that like to jump back there too.

Sorry if this is a repeat post or obvious information - it wasn't to me, so I wanted to share. Thanks for reading! :)

Did they ruin the Tocker's augment pool in PBE?

I feel like the augment pool has been greatly reduced after a PBE patch a day or two ago.

Prismatics are entirely gone and things like the Flora Fatalis emblem are gone too... am I just hallucinating or does anyone else have the same observation? I had a much better experience with the initial PBE Tocker's compared to live because live was always Gold-Gold-Prismatic and on PBE you could get full prismatics.

It was so fun getting deadlier caps or DB as 1st augment

*Please don't judge me, I like playing Tocker's outside of its function as a tutorial because I just like some solo brainless chilling :( Until they bring back the Ao Shin gamemode this will be my only PvE option

Lost round 1-1??

Gave me a single Twisted Fate opener. He rolled a 1 and it looked like it didn’t do any any damage lol.

Screenshot was after the round but you can see I lost 1 health

The Treasure Realms Experience (PBE)

TLDR: Careful how you spend your money y'all. Learn math so you understand the drop rates they're forced to display.

So recently on PBE it appears we were all flooded with treasure tokens. Of course, being a degenerate gambler, I usually have a balance of zero tokens. So I immediately spent ~50,000 of them. That's ONE THOUSAND rolls total, approximately $1400USD worth of RP, if I'm doing my math right (I might not be). Would have spent more if I didn't get bored of clicking through the same screens repeatedly. Didn't hit a single drop, rolling for Aphelios Unbound, Chibi Office Aatrox, and the coveted Prestige Chibi Immortal Journey Shyvana. I guess I can't be expected to hit the prestige, and at some point I gained enough mythic medallions to buy everything.

But damn.

I didn't spend any money on this but I can imagine the pain of even whales now. Good luck fellow degenerates!

Set 17 (Star Atlas)

I finally completed the Star Atlas for set 17. I think its time to finally put TFT down and move on. Im so burnt out with this game. Hardest traits to complete by far were….

-MECH 6

SHEPERD 7

The emblem for sheperd 7 was very frustrating for me personally. Luckily I was able to clutch up last stage with a few last minute adjustments. I hope they don’t bring back another Star Atlas again.

After being a reroll junkie in low masters for 3 sets, I finally locked in and hit GM.

Fuck the Milio buffs, if it wasn't for him being 8-way contested every game I'd still be spamming Ez Cho in low masters.

I made a free coaching tool for drawing over gameplay VODs without the need to upload anything

I built this web app because I got regular coaching and seeing how simple epic pen is and how annoying it is to review footage that isnt uploaded to youtube, i figured i could do better, and so I built this and added a ton of useful features!

You can load a local video without uploading them to the server, or paste a video URL. Then you can draw over the footage, theres a variety of tools, including emotes and the ability to save drawings into save slots for easy loading. The video player has been designed to be customizable to whatever controls you prefer. You can not only change the keybinds but also how big the different skips are, (default is frame-by-frame, 1s 3s and 10s). Another feature is being able to put down markers (and label them), and it will update every second how long ago that moment was.

No account needed, and videos and drawings dont get uploaded to the server, pretty much everything is saved in your browser. You can even install it as an app so it works offline!

It's called Replay Whiteboard, and you can try it here: https://whiteboard.nymphokittiac.com/

I’d especially like feedback from people who do coaching or regular VOD reviews. What features would make this more useful for you? I made this app for Omega Strikers specifically, but made it in a way where it works for any game. Im very open for feedback and would love to hear what you guys think!

Question about pivoting and not forcing comps

This is a bit of a long read so I apologize for that I wasnt expecting this to be this long.

I have recently been forcing one comp and it got me all the way to diamond 2, but for next set I really want to be able to pivot well and not force any comps so I can try to get to master.

The main problem with this that I find is what I will explain here below. I usually play fast 8 because i find I have way more success when I play fast 8 and win streak. But here is what I dont understand about “playing what the game gives you”. If i start the game and I think I am going to play a fast 8 comp, I usually want to win streak in order to perform well, usually when I lose streak and play a fast 8 comp I have a much lower chance of getting top 4. So in order to do this, I slam items to fit that playstyle and save HP. If i start slamming a sol items, for example, i fully cannot switch to something like nova miss fortune or meeple corki, and I may not even be able to switch to conduit zoe because I started leveling and might be halfway through level 6 already and have not saved any of the units i needed to hold for that reroll comp. Another thing, what if i am leveling at at 3-5 i level to 7 but then later on 2 people pivot to conduit sol before i rolled down and now im stuck with 1 sol and no morganas, i would want to pivot to conduit zoe but it is too late because that is a level 6 reroll comp and i am already level 7.

The way I would think you would do it is by not committing to a comp but committing to a playstyle, like reroll or fast 8. But theres also a problem with this. If im playing conduit sol and theres 3 people contesting me, then what am i goingnto switch to? The only other viable AP fast 8 comp is space groove nami and in order timo play that and place well you pretty much need a space groove emblem, which I most likely do not have because I thought I was going conduit a sol.

So how do you usually play a flexible game without having these problems that I am laying out here? Curious to hear how you all work through this. I think understanding this is the last thing holding me back from being a top player because when I know what I am playing and it goes well I always place high. The struggle for me is picking the right comp and being able to pivot effectively when the game gives me something different.

The last patch of each set is usually considered 'fun' patch

And this set, the devs have successfully done so by making those who play Milio feel fun and those who play against him feel unfun
