OUT OF STATE OR CANADIAN ADOPTION IS POSSIBLE - cost is typically around $600 USD (give or take). The fee includes transport, boarding, full medical, spay/neuter, and a health certificate.
We are a volunteer network dedicated to helping at-risk dogs. We are not affiliated with BARC. We connect at-risk animals at the BARC shelter with the adopters, fosters, and rescue organizations needed to save their lives. We can help coordinate out-of-state adoption through approved 501(c)3 rescues. 9/29/2026: This dog greeted me at the kennel door with a fast wagging tail and wiggly body. He let me leash him and walked Simi loosely to and from the potty yard. Inside his kennel he can be seen waiting by the kennel door for interaction.
10/1/2026: Move adopt in the am, has been nonstop vocal in kennel since.
10/3/2026: Was a bit vocall in the am but once Volunteer rook out for a long walk, dog came back to kennel and was quiet and relaxed in kennel. Greets me loosely at the front of the kennel door with a waggy tail and soft open mouth.
10/4/2026: dog walked semi tight to the run and when i placed her in the run was vocal and when i brought her back she walked in and lay down.
10/5/2026: Stands at the front of the kennel door, wags her tail with a soft open mouth. Easy to leash and she walked out on a loose leash. In the runs she remained relaxed and walked back to kennel on a loose leash. Has been quiet and relaxed in kennel.
10/6/2026: Began to vocalize in the am. Once I leashed up and walked out dog walked on a loose leash and was wagging her tail with a soft open mouth. I offered her a larger kennel to see if it would help. She has been quiet and relaxed in her kennel.

9/28/2026: Weighed 55.6 lbs. Normal exam. Vaccinated (Rabies, DA2PP-V, Bordetella), dewormed and given flea prevention. Heartworm test: Negative.
