This series is amazing

I just finished season 2 and I can’t believe how good it was. I was stunned. I watched season 1 when it came out and I kinda just ran through it with a little bit of interest but not much. I was completely glued to the screen from beginning to end of this season. So much scheming, so many intricacies and so well written. Fasbender was acting his ass off. The nemesis — Viking was extremely well written . I really hope they keep up the good work next season bc that was fantastic.

Am I stupid or did we not get the Russian leak solved on Season 2?

Henry’s mole hunt starts because some details of operations in the Ukrainian theater were leaking, right? This wasn’t explained… or did I miss it?

S2 Finale left me in a pickle

I have not seen Le Bureau, and when The Agency came out I figured, oh great...I'll just watch this instead. Im hearing that it hews pretty close to the original. But okay, now we have this cliff hanger damn it. And I'm not even sure The Agency has been renewed. I'm tempted to watch the original but I'm afraid it will reduce my enjoyment of The Agency.

Burning question: who compromised Leo Kravitzky?

I feel like they never got to resolving that. And we know it isn't Martian since his betrayal had nothing to do with the Valhalla arc. Can someone enlighten me?

Ending with NIN Hurt was a chef’s kiss

As someone who grew up on John le Carré’s novels, this series is just amazing—it perfectly conveys that blurred line between lies and reality. It captures the constant tension of the main character never quite being able to grasp who he is or believe that what he feels is real.

Possible SPOILER

And ending the series with “Who the fuck am I?” followed by Nine Inch Nails’ “Hurt” was brilliant. That feeling that perhaps, now, he would finally be just himself after all.

I really hope we see more Michael Fassbender/David Fincher/NIN collaborations in the future! The Killer was not enough

Danny’s conversation with Dr Blake gave me chills (S02E04)

I wasn’t particularly invested in Danny early on. She felt fairly standard at first, almost like a familiar type of character you’ve seen done a hundred times before, so I didn’t give her much attention. I was quite dismissive of her in the beginning.

As season 2 has gone on, that’s changed completely. The writing around her and the way she interacts with other characters has slowly added depth I didn’t expect. Small choices, reactions, and shifts in how she handles pressure have started to stand out more, and it’s made me reassess her entirely.

Now she’s become one of the more compelling parts of the show for me. Not because she suddenly changed into a different character, but because I think I initially underestimated what was already there and how much the show was deliberately holding back and revealing over time.

Starting Le Bureau from season 3?

I’ve heard season 1 and 2 of The Agency follows very closely the same seasons in Le Bureau. Will it be easy for me to follow Le Bureau if I just start with season 3? For those who have seen all of Le Bureau, does its season 3 resume right off the bat from the events of the end of season 2 in The Agency?

The Agency-Season 2

Season two started a bit slow. In fairness though, these shows that have so much time pass between seasons are apt for that because it takes time to reorient to the vibe of the show and its characters. Outside of binging the prior season to refresh, and no one wants to do that. All this being said, this show, this season, rolled like a slow locomotive reaching top speed the last several episodes. Great tv. Jeffrey Wright(a favorite of mine) was superb with his crotchety exchanges, Michael Fassbender was his usual steely self. I don’t want to forget Saura Lightfoot-Leon, a star being born before our eyes. In summary, the entire cast delivered.
Ps. Clayne Crawford, who I remembered from “Rectify” was a deadly force in his role as “Viking”.

season 2 is homeland post season 1 absurd

I’m falling a sleep on episode 9 or 8 season 2.

the writing is weak, and nothing makes sense if you know how CIA works in season 2.

season 1 is this well written slow burn, season 2 assumes the viewer doesn’t know how the real world words and is mindless action and dialogue you can skip that doesn’t move the plot.

season 2 is the CUA being incompetent on levels not based in reality

owen they basically used him as bait with no support absurd.

Season 2 is 🔥🔥🔥

I don't want to ruin anything for those who haven't watched it yet, but damn did they weave some beautifully tense plot lines.

Espionage and organized crime are my lifelong fav genres, and this is almost up there with Gomorrah.

Gremlin acting

Gremlin and Popeyes acting is so bad it detracts from alot of that story arc in the show. The rest of the acting is pretty great though, particularly Martian and Ogletree. Really enjoying this show. Why can’t we get more spy thrillers!

Viking and chess timer clock

Love this show, it is excellent. Small nit though:

after how careful/smart Viking is, and given he already suspects Martian to be CIA rat, is it likely he just accepts the presence of a timer clock without inspection?

Especially given how close he will be to it? At best it could have GPS, at worst, well…

Just seems obviously unlikely, given his suspicious characterization so far.

Shows to scratch the itch while we wait for S3

I recommend:

- The Americans (particularly if you are old enough to remember the Cold War)
- Fauda
- Deutscland 83
- Babylon Berlin
- Teheran
- Berlin Station

What else?

This show is phenomenal 👏

Season 2 has literally blown me away. I'm on episode 8 and I'm gutted that it's nearly over 😫

It's just the best experience to get a show that totally clicks for you and exceeds the expectations you had from the actors and the premise. Love it!

Love Naomi's laser fire retorts

If only this could have been said to the powers that be irl:

"Everything in Iran is nine-dimensional chess. You move the wrong piece at the wrong time and it gets taken. And you don't even know who took it."

Why does the sister know Russian?

That's not convincing. In The Bureau the brother and sister of course knew Arabic. Edit: I know I wasn't particularly clear here, but I don't find it convincing that her brother has been some sort of deep agent for the KGB, has told her, and on her own she's gone off and learned Russian presumably to join him at some point when a CIA agent happens to show up that she can drag along with her? That plot line makes sense in the original because you have a sister who wants to join her brother in the Islamic State, but by introducing the KGB angle you've complicated things unnecessarily by making Viking a bigger deal than he was in the original. And that's reflected in the unbelievability of the sister knowing Russian and somehow being a KGB adjacent accomplice.

i'm glad to see lord grantham has adapted to the modern world

I've finished season 1 and enjoyed it, but mostly i'm just happy to see that after so much resistance to things like toasters and having to get dressed without a valet, lord grantham has finally come around and adapted to the modern world by becoming an MI6 agent. good for him!

seriously, it's all i can think about when his character comes on screen!

What am I missing? Is it just me?

I am on S2 E8 and I’ve never been more confused by a series. I know the general concept of what’s going on but the little side stories are very much complex and quite frankly very confusing to me. I am having a difficult time keeping up. Is it just me?

For example, when Osman meets with Dalaga, who was listening?

Why was Saeed so interested in Samya? Why did he have to get involved?

Idk, so many questions. I’ll probably have to restart it to get a full picture of what is happening.
