GUN SHOW

Crewed by Brother Sergei, and affectionately known as "Gun Show" by the troopers, long range fire and artillery support has arrived. Brother Sergei was a victim of a blast of warp lightning that fried his Black Carapace beyond repair. Unable to make use of his power armour, he has transitioned his heavy weapons specialty to its logical conclusion. Now he crews Gun Show, and continues to lay down heavy ordnance to support his squad. Importantly, the Basilisk is open-topped, so he can't wear power armour. I would lose WYSIWYG status!

This finally brings my Tyrant's Legion up to 1k points. I think I actually am about halfway now; on one hand, I have 100 conscripts to paint. On the other, I have already done the kitbashing, so I can just hit print and get painting!

Another update on my scratchbuilt Tallarn centaur, inspired by the lrdg trucks of ww2. It just needs some clean up and then it’s ready for some paint

Hi everyone,
I'm new to Astra Militarum, and don’t know where to start. I found these two sets available locally. I can't decide which one to get and would love some help to decide.

List isn't very competitive but I wanted to stick with Krieg, and always wanted to paint a knight even if a Stormlord would have fit better. I'm overall very happy with the result. What do you think ?

Played my second game of 11th. Ended the game at 95 to 100. Good back and forth. Best score I’ve ever had.

Ran grizzled Company with purge the foe.

Think I’ll go hammer next time. Not sure what to run along side it. Technically with the “paint rule” I would have fun but I don’t really care for the 10 points from that.

He ran the detachment that made the wounding never being more than plus one.

This is a squad of Hardened Veterans I did for my 4e imperial guard Badab War project. I figured that while most of my force are expendable conscripts, certain human officers have been looking for any way they can to even the playing field against all the Astartes forces arrayed against them.

Pick the best of the best, give them all the training and combat stims you can, and hand them plasma guns and sensible, pragmatic tactics and you have yourself some elite Astartes hunters. I also write a short codex-style fic about their training for a booklet my buddy is making - I've posted that below in case anyone is interested!

Staff sergeant Von Credo’s bionics creaked and hissed as he clunked from one side of the projectorium to the other, his thin hair adhered to his gaunt skull by a layer of perspiration under the ozone heat of the holo.

“Welcome back gentlemen. Ladies.“ He rasped. “Huron Rex!”

The half-empty stands rung out in beleaguered chorus, as 20-something glassy-eyed, unwashed soldiers responded to the call. Gunner Edric glanced across the room, through the flickering holo and the dangling wires of the scribe’s data-loom, catching the eye of Gunner Chance. A lively glint in her eye, gladly reciprocated, was all the indication Edric needed that their extracurricular activities were not regretted, despite the educationals starting at 0500 now.

“The Red Scorpion is a mighty foe, probably spawned from the seed of Guilliman. As with all Astartes, there exist a number of psychological vulnerabilities we can exploit. Broadly speaking, the chapter is compliant with the Codex Astartes, so please review training sessions 1 through 12 between now and this evening. You shall be examin...”

A quiet groan rang around the room, ignored by the Sergeant. Black Team Primus, Edric’s unit, had been tested twice already since the last live fire exercise, on the Raptors and on the Exorcists. Endless iterations of reviewing combat footage, and predicting the next few frames, predicting an Astartes’ next move.

In a battle of reflexes, in a contest of strength, or in a war of wits, a mortal loses every time. The curriculum taught at black site primus, however, allowed a mortal soldier to compete on one single axis – understanding. Understand the Astartes, hunt the Astartes, kill the Astartes. Edric felt a hard poke in his ribs, Gunner Orl’s elbow bringing him back to the lecture.

The holo crackled and shifted, showing the view from a helmet lens, marked V.S. Asurdon. The footage showed the subject and his squad of Astral Claws battling through a confined duct aboard a void ship. After a few seconds, they found themselves frustrated by a single Red Scorpion holding a doorway, with an immaculate display of swordsmanship. After a few exchanges, the Red Scorpion was dispatched, and the holo paused.

“On frame 889, observe that Asurdon offends with a number two cut. This threatens both of the Scorpion’s progenoid glands. This proceeds a number of microexpressions, but the result is that the marine opts for a weak parry, that preserves his progenoid glands, but leads to him being wounded and taken out of action.

The critical flaw in Red Scorpion psychology, ladies and gentlemen, is their obsession with their gene-seed and its purity. This may be exploited during battle, to draw out more predictable outcomes in operaton. Consider double-tapping a downed Red Scorpion, making to destroy his progenoid glands. This will spur his comrades to defend the sanctity of the gene-seed; a predictable response. This may be used to draw them into a disadvantageous situation, and into your plasma fire. Consider this over mess and discuss other opportunities this could open up. We will reconvene at 0700 for an armour study. There are no consistent marks of armour employed here, so we will study on a per-marine basis”

The holo crackled again, giving a preview of the rest of the day’s studies; Eleven individual Red Scorpions, led by Commander Lowen, each of whom wearing a hodgepodge of at least 5 separate armour marks.

It was going to be a long day.

I recently came across u/DrewB222's 1:35 sidecar build from three years back - different unit, different scale, but a strikingly similar reading of what a Guard sidecar should look like. I built my 1:1 Cadian recon bike for regular off-road use with no idea his post existed. He kindly agreed to let me share a few side-by-side comparisons - his original posts are linked below.

Turns out we were tapping into the same lost STC blueprint - just calibrated for different scales.

Coming from the T'au, I'd just sold my army and was thinking about what to do next, realised I had enough bits and bobs from random things to buy the big box and have just over 1k

I played my friends necrons. Didn't kill a single unit of his, wound up in a last stand on his deployment zone, and lost 73-75! I had so much fun! This faction is an absolute delight! Orders are very engaging to hand out, and having a commissar execute the last unit in a squad so you can bring them in in reinforcements is so strangely satisfying.

Can't wait to paint these up and get some more units!

New Guard painter. I mainly paint but occasionally play. I know need tanks at some point. But here are my boys. Artillery, heavy weapons squad, 20 grunts with 2 sergeants and 1 master sergent ( like the idea of a higher nco commanding the 20 man blob), Command squad, and castellen.

Finished painting squad of Krieg Engineers. It's a little rough, but I'm pretty happy with them. Still need to base them, but I'll worry about that later.

What’s up homies. I use to paint when I was in middle/ high school but decided to get back into Warhammer. I’ve painted a unit of Kasrkin, a Cadian Castellan, and now I’m working on my Cadian Shock Troopers. Just seeing what you guys think? I’ll definitely take any tips and tricks. I have been deep diving on YouTube and social media as well. I am struggling with faces a bit and my OCD kills me so it takes a bit longer to paint.
