TDH has joined The Fellowship!

TDH has joined The Fellowship!

Very excited for them! It feels like they've had some really rough experiences with management in the past, so here's hoping this is a fresh start!

Sunya is one of my top 5 albums of all time

I don't think it quite beats out Act Iv, but they're tied for sure. They're just so different.

But this post is about Sunya. Giants was the perfect single for it. The orchestration is so invigorating - I love the direction the band is taking their style and also this concept album series in. Casey's voice sounds phenomenal. The worldbuilding is great, the lyrics are awesome... I can't find a song on it that I don't like.

I'm seeing the Chicago concert next month with my partner (who introduced me to TDH) and I'm so incredibly excited :)

Sweet Naivete

"Expecting conversational"

Brain inserts "Expecting Patronum" like from Harry Potter... EVERY TIME...

Anyone else have some placed-in lyrics or misheard lyrics?

Go Get Your Gun (Pillar)

I feel like this will come off as shilling for the band, but I can’t stop cheesing over how insanely good the “Go Get Your Gun” rendition on Pillar is. The song kicks off and all I can think is “wait, have I forgotten how this song goes?”

It’s a completely fresh take that’s both familiar and exciting. There’s a degree of smoooove that these gents pull off that’s simultaneously insulting and unbelievable. The kind of stuff that has me shaking my head “no” while smiling ear to ear. Watching “The Tank” piqued my curiosity enough to jump onto Pillar for these lovely nerds, but GGYG made it all worthwhile. The whole dang thing is excellent. Thank you for all you do, TDH ❤️

P.S. The monochrome to color moment was excellently timed.

Youtube reviewer claiming Casey lectured him in DMs

Randomly watched a guy's YouTube video who claims you "ass-blasted" and "lectured him" over Instagram DMs because he didn't give a fully positive review of Sunya.

Is this guy just engagement baiting or did you actually give him a talking to?

I personally don't care if you did. It's not going to keep me from your music or supporting you guys, but it would certainly save me from ever clicking on his content again if he's just trying to stir up drama.

Not going to name and shame as I ain't trying to start a witch hunt. Find it yourself if you're curious.

I made an edit/AMV with Shake Me (Awake)!

Happy to finally have this out! This was a huge labor of love. This song fit the goofiness and earnestness of this series perfectly to me and I absolutely needed to match them up as best I could.

The Color Spectrum songs that could have been a part of The Acts

I remember seeing titles and lyrics from TCS that reminded me a lot of the Acts, and Casey even stated some of the songs could potentially be a part of the Acts as well. So I wanted to see which ones seemed most plausible.

We’ve Got A Score To Settle hearkens to In Cauda Venenum's line "When we settle the score"

Mandala reminds of The Lake And The River and His Hands Matched His Tongue with the line "So the veil can be lifted and the well will overflow"

Mr. Malum seems to be an early draft of Mr. Usher

I remember someone saying Home and A Beginning sounds familiar and are both about death, so maybe that one?

I swear there were more but I may be forgetting some lines and which songs have which.

Do you guys have any songs you think would fit, or could have been, in the Acts?

Remember that time we helped Casey make a song with Pillar?

I think it was on Pillar...? Casey had fans collaborating on a song during c-word era, and I remember absolutely loving the finished result once it was completed. The problem is, I can't seem to find it anymore no matter how much I dig around. Does anyone know if that track is still available somewhere for fans to listen to, or has it disappeared with some of the older Pillar content?

So.........how was The Wife so oblivious to the fact that Hunter wasn't really her husband?

It's not like they're twins. They're half-brothers. There's no way they would look so much alike that she wouldn't be able to tell. I don't care how much Hunter crafted his look after The Son. Did she just give in immediately to the fact that The Son was dead? Or was she just that naive?

So when do we get a pixel art "The Indigo Child" video game?

Every time I listen to any of the three releases in this TDH universe it just screams badass, highly stylized pixel art isometric video game, with 2D side scrolling transitional levels. The narrative is deep but open-ended. A lot there to play with.

The shear scale of Tower darkening different parts of the city at different times of the day. NPCs whispering about the prophecy. Escaping Antimai to see the vast Wasteland to be chased and hunted by Marauders. Having the ship as a home base hub, where you prepare.

It could be a game where you play as one person, or a game where each chapter you play as a different person in the Indigo child universe.

Citizen in Ring 8

A Officer of the law possibly in a conundrum about the deeds he must do challenging his morality

A mother trying to hide her son from authority

The scientist escaping Antimai

Fighting/running from the Marauders

Shopping at The Bazarateria and navigating the chaos

Flying in your ship dodging lightning in the Stormlands

I'm just straight riffing here, but It sure is fun to think about. It would make such a good game!

My Bitter Suite search for a CD copy of Antimai

The Dear Hunter has easily become my favorite band in these last couple of years. I, like many, first discovered them through a song from Act IV. Thus began the rabbithole that lead me to now, where I am insufferable to all my friends and loved ones since I never stop playing TDH and never shut up about them. I eat up their music and sing along to it like a greedy Smiling Swine. Hell, I'm surprised I haven't been Evicted for playing them too loud in my apartment.

I've been trying to own more physical media so CDs have been showing up to my house a lot lately. Got Acts IV and V and I got Sunya when I saw TDH in Portland a little while ago. But my goodness, Antimai and the rest of the Indigo Child saga has gripped me, and yet...

There ain't a CD of Antimai anywhere to be found. I read somewhere that there was a supply shortage when it came out, which tracks because Covid and all that, but goddamn does it sadden me that I can't bump Ring 5 when I'm having A Night on the Town in my car without streaming it.

Is There Anybody Here who knows a place where one might aqcuire a CD of Antimai?! If All Goes Well, I'll get my hands on a CD sometime soon. Perhaps they'll rerelease it and I can grab it upon The Revival of the printing someday? I'll lead The March to the store if that ever happens! Maybe all I need to do is be The Squeaky Wheel and Wait until then.

I don't want to read the Writing on a Wall that there will never be another release of Antimai...I would climb to the top of a mountain for a copy because, for me, it's just that This Beautiful Life is less beautiful without that disc in my cold, Red Hands.
