As the title suggests, I really hope ToC season 4 delivers properly like season 1&2. Season 3 was such a let down with the loss of Kate and the power gaming of Joe only wanting to RP with Ross, noura pretty much being the tarot card lady and kerkovich only being there to bring anarchism to the story.

I want actual horror, actual cooperation with all the players without one just saying we're doing this. And for the love of god, no more weird sexual scenes with noura. That was so fucking hard to watch and she was clearly uncomfortable.

1 Month and some change on from the Naish ralley the guy's Mothership oneshot of The Haunting Of Ypsilon 14 still leads the pack at just over 23k views!

Currently in the lead at 23205 views with Delta Green coming in at 18671 views and in 3rd place at 17056 is Shadow Dark.

I just wanted to comment that this is a great result, especially since it's in the live section of their channel which generally gets less views than their main video feed, it's actually beating almost all of the Call Of Cuthulu live shows and even the Star Wars games which has almost double the time being out.

I know I've said this a bunch of times as being a big fan of Mothership but I'll say it again! Mosh would be an excellent choice for a series and it should be made right now! Instead of being locked behind one of the highest tiers :)

I think it wont just be a great series, it's a good business decision! There is hardly any competition between some of the biggest groups out there that are playing this game that's anything more than a oneshot. A short run of Orphans or Decagone or perhaps Dead Planet or Another Bug Hunt would really corner the market on this, they should definitely consider it. Troy or anyone from the GCN reading this, get on this as soon as possible!

As many of you are aware, in the bant of an episode of Blood of the Wild, Jared created a mess making, no pants wearing, third person speaking character with the intent to be purposefully off-putting and loathsome.

It worked so well that Reddit’s automod now occasionally flags mention of his name as harassment.

This is apparently very inconsistent (we had a post about this character just the other day where almost all the comments were allowed). But if the automod flags something as harassment, we as mods cannot even reinstate the comment.

So… yeah, if you mention this particular character by name and it gets removed, know that it was probably the automod and that you didn’t actually break any rules. Unless you did, in which case shame on you.

Feel free to nominate appropriate pseudonyms that will hopefully fly under the AI overlord’s notice below.

Hey everyone,

I'm a longtime fan of the GCP. Been listening since Giant Slayer. I love the cast's sense of humor, it wouldn't be GCP without some good laughs.

Having said that, this campaign started with Troy publicly making a commitment to more dramatic stories, more dark gritty moments, and more sincere characters. It's been less than a year since the start of the campaign and it seems apparent to me that Troy has lost all interest in that commitment.

Every opportunity for a dark gritty moment is it undercut by banal jokes and a wink at the audience. Every time a new NPC has a chance to inject drama or sincerity they do the opposite. NPC's are treated as one-dimensional humor that only serve the purpose of removing drama and sincerity from the moment. The only NPCs that were played with any level of sincerity seem to be >!Reeve Winters, Regina, and Regina's companions.!<

In the last episode, for example, >!Matthew is trying to investigate a murder and can't even get started because there is nothing but jokes and deflection in response. "Can I inspect the body?" is followed by jokes and jokes and jokes...!<

Or before that moment when >!Sydney is getting frustrated because she is trying to do a serious scene and getting nothing but jokes in response. Troy says something like "Look at her face!" to which Sydney responds that she was trying to roleplay a serious scene. Joe rolls his eyes and comes back with some line about how her character can't be serious because his name is "Saint Anthony". !<

I mean really guys? Really?! Is this the kind of story we are telling with Shadowdark? I fully expect >!Saint's trial to be adjudicated by Reeve Winters and more one-dimensional NPC's the cast will be laughing at. I won't be shocked when the judgement is handed down by someone named Ser Fuzzy Dorito Chipington and then carried out by another NPC named Mick Jagger. I won't be surprised when Saint is executed followed by a slide-whistle, vaudeville routine, and Troy saying "Oh and Saint shit himself after he died and everyone laughed."!<

Can we PLEASE just have a sincere moment for FIVE MINUTES?! The show literally started with a commitment to dramatic tone and serious characters. I've been watching since Giant Slayer so I didn't expect that to last but I thought we'd hang on for at least a year.

I have to say I have just been hugely dissapointed in Troy's total disinterest in any kind of dramatic storytelling or sincerity in role play. It's like EVERYTHING HAS TO BE goofy silly all the time. Why would I want to be invested in your world, setting, or characters if EVERYTHING is just a slide whistle and a wink at the audience?

At the very least, at least everyone on the cast is laughing. I'm glad they're having a fun time. I came into this show expecting what they promised at the beginning: More drama, more sincere characters, and more dark gritty storytelling. We have gone so far in the complete opposite direction I wouldn't be surprised if >!Reeve Winters!< is the last serious NPC the party finds outside of a dungeon for the rest of the campaign.

Honestly, I hope >!Sydney's next character is a silly bard with a funny name that takes absolutely nothing seriously.!< It seems like that is the only kind of character that is going to get any traction at all from Troy and the rest of the party.

I'll start by saying sniffling is a pet peeve of mine, but holy hell is it bad in Blood of the Wild. I don't know who is doing it, but it is constant throughout some episodes. For an audio-centric medium, it just really amazes me that whoever is doing it cannot control themselves or actually mute themselves when they do it. I'm also surprised that the sound engineer does not mute it post-episode. Someone needs to mute their mic and blow their nose.

I've had to stop listening to some episodes because it's so bad. I didn't listen to A Fire Goes Out because it was really bad all throughout.

Anyway. Love the show, love the cast, love the characters. Great podcast. I try to listen to it every day and it has actually helped me get through a lot of unhappy times, so I'm very thankful for that. Keep up the great work (but maybe work on the sniffling).

Being in Europe I didn't watch much of it live as I need to be in bed way earlier than it was all on, but listening to the pods it was a such a good load of content, and a reminder of how good the players and DMs can be. I was expecting to have favourites, but every piece of content but one was so good I will listen to them all again.

I couldn't get through Delta Green though, because I have no idea why you'd play a one shot during a fundraiser and not engage with the plot at all, let alone play a gross sleazeball. Maybe it's just that I'm a middle aged man, but it felt embarrassing to listen to and I stopped about half way though.

The two shows either side were particular highlights though! Brindlewood Bay was anarchic energy in a really fun system, and Haunted City made me realise I need a relisten of the whole series.

If you've not checked any of it out, I really recommend (almost) all of it!

Let me explain. I've been on vacation with my family for the past couple of weeks and I've been spending time with my 3yo nephew. He's super energetic and loves chasing people and being chased while running around like a maniac.

With the recent posts here about ranking various aspects of the GCP and voting on which is the best in each category, I was reminded of the epic bant topic of Goochie. You could call it the ongoing saga of Goochie and his girlfriend.

I may have made a mistake, however, in that I incorporated Goochie into the chase game with my nephew where I do the Goochie voice and chase him around saying stuff like

"oh noooo it's Goochie!"

"Uh oh, Goochie made a big mess"

"Goochie is going to catch you!!"

I swear it was an innocent error of judgement but now my nephew loves it and asks me to be Goochie and cackles as I chase him while doing the voice.....am I......becoming.... Goochie!?!?

I don't know if I can live with the terrifying implications of the choices I've made.....

HELP ME!

I know it's late, but, I think it's unfortunate they didn't get to tell the whole story. After they announced the cancellation it felt like the crew finally relaxed and the show really took off.

Now that some time has passed, I find my self still being compelled by the story more than most of the other shows.
