Ruskin’s inter-dimensional “role”

Re-watching after all this time made me understand so much more lol. Until now I thought that Pierre Ruskin was a new character on the roster of repeat characters across dimensions.

But now I’m fairly certain he’s the gunman. In every dimension there is a version of every character. D1 has a school shooter who harms children, and D2 has a Silicon Valley tech mogul who harms children through his app.

I think it’s coming back in November

7 years, 3 months and 11 days from the cancellation of the show on 5th August 2019 would be November 16th, 2026.

The show dropped on Netflix on 16th December 2016. I think it will come back November 16th, there will perhaps be a bunch of episodes or feature-length films (like how stranger things did) released across the month, and then exactly 10 years to the day that the show was released, the finale will drop.

I think it’s all a loop. The ending scenes of the finale will loop right back to OA on the bridge, and the loop will be complete across the span of 10 years.

We know the cast has been in London, Jason literally never shuts up about the show coming back, and the recent posts on Instagram suggest to me that they’re on track. I might be wrong about this but I really hope I’m not.

Would LOVE to finally know the significance of the number 37, too!

Ive been putting off watching the last couple episodes because I know………that’s it! And I will have gone from great excitement and anticipation to sad and empty yearning for more!!!! (I think that might actually be the first time I ever said “yearning” before! lol 🤷‍♂️

If it does come back..

do you think Zendaya will reprise her role?

Obviosuly, I'd watch regardless, but her career has certainly skyrocketed since season 2 aired, so I wonder if she would pick her role back up.

Never realized there was a season 2

Okay so I watched the first season when it came out years ago and thought it was just one season and done. Don't remember anything about season 2.

Time is really limited these days with work and kids I'd like to just jump into season 2 but how much of one do I need to remember? Or what is a good recap

Did Britt just confirm this theory?

"Since there is no time, it is always the moment to correct and begin again."

Is she hinting/confirming that The OA (or someone) keeps repeating the same story until she can correct something?

Keen to share theories on what shes correcting.

I like the idea that she/they need to remember who she/they really are, part of something bigger. Each failure is a step towards remembering how to find herself/themselves.

Through each dimension she merges with other parts of herself, learning their gifts,

- season 2 taught her to connect with animals,

- season 3 will teach her to manifest via film,

- season 4 will teach her to connect deeply with people and put thoughts in their mind via touch (this is why she hated touch in s1, and was able to convince bba or connect strongly with people when she allowed touch).

- season 5 will show her what it truly means to be The OA and how to go back to any time/space she wants. She will realise that that first jump that she attempted at the start of s1 was failed for a reason. It was right where she needed to be to 'get it right'.

Ovaltine Ciphers

I did some reading on Ovaltine’a Wikipedia page and discovered that Ovaltine sponsored radio Orphan Annie (OA) and Captain Midnight. They would frequently give listeners proof of purchase premiums which were usually decoder rings.

wiki link - look under popular culture

Likewise I did a quick google search on Decoder Rings and immediately get results about Ovaltine and the radio shows, in addition to A Christmas Story (one user brought this back up in a separate reddit post about the Braille cipher).

Its unclear to me if the decoder rings use a particular cipher algorithm and if it’s the Caesar algorithm. In general if we use Ceasar 37, due to the math of modulo this would be the same as Ceasar 11… 37.. 11… 7 years, 3 months, 11 days hmmm.

Anyways, I’m wondering if we should be using a decoder ring to decode a message 🤔. Someone also pointed out the photos were from 1959 but I cannot find a specific decoder ring from 1959. The cipher key changes each year supposedly. The one Ralphie uses in A Christmas Story was 1940. Either way we would need a message to decrypt and I can’t think of any prominent seemingly decipherable messages on the show or Brit’s social media page.

If anyone else can feed into this delusion and look for any known ciphers. The braille cipher mentioned earlier doesn’t seem to be decipherable so I’m unsure about that one.

Just some useless trivia i found interesting with my stupid wandering mind, while i kept thinking about this show

1.The OA" is pronounced DOA which is interesting since you know,😅

2.Brandon Perea's French Helped The Original Angel in the show and years later He became Angel in Nope. his most prominent role so far.

must have jumped to our dimension sending Brit some signals so she can remember. 😬

  1. also Zendaya's Fola helped in finding Michelle and years later played Michelle Jones in the MCU also one of her most prominent roles.

as i said, useless stuff LOL. God i wish they continue this show already.

Brendons post from April

Not sure if its worth noting but Brendon Meyer had a series of posts in April where him, Brandon and Patrick were all on a set at a train station and theres a way out sign similar to the “way out” posts that Brit made today. (Liverpool Street is in London)

Edit: rephrase x3 😅

Recent Return Clues? compiled:

- We got Brit posting pictures of London and directly saying "things old and new coming together across the pond" on 7/3 at 11am - 7 years 3 months and 11 days after the premiere of season 2 (The length of time Prairie was captured)

- Jason posts an AI generated photo of him at an airport with flight BA411 behind him

- Brit and Jason unfollow each other, bringing Brits follows count from 371 down to 370

- DB Holland posts a picture with the number 37 on their table at a restaurant with three glasses positioned

EDIT: Just checked again and this new Brit post makes it her 307th post too to add to the above

Ovaltine meaning

Is the Ovaltine a reference to the braille decipher from 9 years ago and the linked comment? Haven't seen this mentioned.

Did y'all notice Jason Isaacs started following IA accounts on Instagram?

Pretty much everything he follows now is about AI. I'm overanalyzing everything right now.

for how long did they plan this?

so i have no doubt this is clearly something and I'm indeed the OA continues in some way hopefully soon.

But I am wondering, what happened in the meantime, is this something that just became possible or was this the plan all along?

Its just a little detail but also too on point to be just random: 7 years and 11 months and 3 weeks after the premiere of season two the date is 3/7 .. and that fact by itself makes me feel like this was always the plan at least somehow.

what do you think?

Why the photos from 1959?

I definitely think they’re signaling something but I’m curious if anyone has any ideas why Brit would post specifically pictures from 1959?

additionally, the “way out” picture makes me think of her line in A Murder at the End of the World - “to finding a way out”
