Wonderkid Wildly Worsening

I have this player who when I signed 1.5 years ago could only play striker. Throughout his first year I retrained him at CB so that he was natural by the end of his first season. Now, it is January of his second season, he has been a regular starter this year but has randomly began worsening drastically. He has not had any injuries, has good morale, is playing well and receives solid if unremarkable training ratings. Has anyone seen this before and could offer solutions as to how to prevent this spiralling.

Never buy a house from these guys: it was missing the roof, I can't find my bathroom through any of the doors and everytime I open the cupboards, everything has moved around without me doing anything!

For legal reasons this is a joke about football manager and not an insult towards this estate agent, who I have no actual experience with.

Thought i would give my wonderkids a game

Played a friendly and said let's put the kids in. They are 2-2.5 stars so not even that bad. Guess the 4 that were my wonderkids
