Palmstreet: Fix the Notification Settings

I’m not a 2 year old who enjoys pressing imaginary buttons that lead to nothing. 🥸

I have respect for the thing you have built. Your platform runs admirably well, in spite of juggling massive logistical hurdles under the hood. That being true: making it so adjustable “settings” tab has zero impact on received notifications isn’t a glitch, or a back end oversight, it’s a straightforward way to farm customer fatigue.

I’m sure it’s boosting your engagement/sales metrics in the immediate term. It’s also going to cause user phase out over time.

You team will inevitably start to/likely is currently wasting significant man hours trying to determine out why retention isn’t where you want it. This is why. Fix this problem, that number will go up.

I swear on my mother, UX career, and plant jesus- I just want the notifications I signed up for.

Winning higher than your bid

In a busier live, I swiped on an item at $46, but ended up being the winning bidder at $51, even though I didn’t bid $51.
In another live last night, a bidder indicated that she swiped at $26, but ended up being the winner at $61. It happened to another bidder a few minutes later.
My bid was close enough that I didn’t fuss about it, but I can see where this could be a big problem if there was a wide disparity like last night. Why is this happening and can anything be done about it?

Scale

I bought a $60 plant on Palm Street and it came with scale. The seller said, “on no! Sorry this happened to you…clean it off with your fingernail”. Is this right? Should I be spending time treating an active infestation?

Issues with seller

Hi everyone. So I had ordered a veitchii from TidalTropicals about a month ago and the plant was advertised as being a juvenile plant in a 4" pot. After reaching out to the seller twice about when I could expect my order they finally sent it on June 16th. I paid for 3 day shipping and it arrived June 22nd (carriers fault, not theirs). When I opened the box I received a small 1" plug in a 4" pot and the plant was totally dead. I reached out to the seller and they issued a partial refund. When I asked why it was partial they said that they only had to refund the price of the plant and that most sellers would not even issue me one. They also said it was my fault for not getting upgraded shipping. I reached out to support for a full refund and they are having me file a claim because the carrier delayed shipping. They aren't acknowledging the dead or misrepresented plant. Does anyone have any experience with something like this? And am I being completely unreasonable? I want to continue using the app but I'm tempted to dispute this with my credit card company and I've heard Palm Street does not take kindly to disputes. I just wanted a full refund as I paid more for shipping than for the actual plant. Sorry for the rant I'm just at a bit of a loss because I've only ever had good experiences prior to this.
