Smurf: Rescue in Gargamel’s Castle had us dodging danger, avoiding Azrael, and racing through Gargamel’s spooky castle to rescue Smurfette—all on the humble Atari.

For many of us, this was one of our very first licensed video games, and just hearing the word “Smurf” instantly brings back memories of Saturday morning cartoons and hours spent glued to the TV.

Simple? Yes. Frustrating? Definitely. But we’d happily play it all over again.

Based on The Purple Smurfs comic arc, it starts with everything normal, until suddenly a purple fly bites one of the Smurfs and turns into an insane, monster like, Purple Smurf, and the infection starts spreading

With only Papa Smurf and a few others unaffected, they must go on a whimsical death defying adventure find the cure to turn them back to normal, coming across cool fantasy creatures and crazy monsters on the way.

Little do they know, half of the purple Smurfs are on their tails to zombify them, while the other half of there's just sorta F-ing around with the human village and gargamel's layer

I don't care if Smurfs already has 4 movies even though so many other cartoons have double the amount, I love them and Peyo deserves something good for once!

Paolo Buglioni (born in Rome in november 2 of 1950) is the last surviving voice actor for Gargamel in the 1981 historical series of The Smurfs, both Italian and non-Italian. All the others have died (including Gastone Pescucci (1927-1999)), the first italian voice actor, under whom Buglioni studied for the role, and Claudio Sorrentino (1945-2021), the second italian voice actor). This makes him the only voice actor for the character to have reprised the role in the 2021 series (Clumsy Smurf and Brainy Smurf do not count, as they have their historical Italian voice actors, Fabrizio Mazzotta for Clumsy who also voiced Krusty the Clown and Marco Guadagno for Brainy who also voiced Arnim Zola in MCU) and he was chosen by the Peyo Company itself
