First Warning show
For free. By the bay. Tough to beat.
The Rady Shell in SD has an open promenade, and I'm not a Yungblud fan so this worked perfectly. They sounded incredible, tight 30-minute set. Can't wait for a headlining gig (hopefully) soon.

had a nice empty room to jump and dance and thrash around in and I put on HYCAD, Que Mas Quieres, S!CK, Ego, DISCIPLE, and Narcisista. It felt like being in a rage room.
Eddie Trunk was warned!
I feel like one of the few The Warning fans who have no knowledge of nu-metal or any of The Warning's influences, like Muse, etc.
What are some good starting points for diving into nu-metal, Muse, or any of The Warning's major influences?
Question for the guitar/gear people here — does anyone know the actual specs or origin of Dany’s baritone strat-style guitar?
I’m especially curious whether it’s:
- a custom build vs production Fender model
- standard Fender body or something custom
- scale length
- fret size/radius
- neck profile
- Seymour Duncan pickup model(s)
- bridge/trem setup
- string gauges/tuning
Basically wondering how much of it is an off-the-shelf baritone vs heavily customized. Also curious whether there’s anything reasonably close that can be bought without going full custom shop. 🎸
Does anybody have one?
Kind of a dead audience I think but a good show and probably one of the best Scream of Destructions.
This is after Pa'l Norte.

Vamos The Warning, ¡hora de conquistar al mundo en Español! 🤟⚡💥
I just finished watching an interview by Rick Beato of Geddy Lee. Roughly 30 minutes in they start talking about how each of Rush’s albums were different, sometimes very different. Geddy talked about how they would lose fans that didn’t like the direction being taken. It would also bring new fans to the band. His take is that this ebb and flow of fans will happen and that an artist needs to hope to find the fans that just want to stick with them and see where they go. I’m paraphrasing and perhaps not capturing exactly what he said, but I couldn’t help but think about some of the discussions I’ve seen here and on other platforms regarding The Warning. I know I’m one that wants to see where they go…
I'm being completely honest here, and I know some of you might not like it, but that's okay. Musically, I really like "Ego." It feels different, with a strong nu-metal vibe similar to "Sharks," mixed with a cool Latin groove.
I especially loved the breakdown with Pau’s screams that part is fire. What I'm not feeling are the lyrics. It’s another “narcisista” song? Another track aimed at the haters. It doesn’t really sound like the storytelling style the girls usually bring. I get that "Kerosene" was based on the producer’s personal experience and wasn’t a direct diss from them, but "Ego" comes across the same way like another diss track.
The one upside for me is that I’m not a native Spanish speaker, so the lyrics don’t hit as hard. To my Spanish speaking friends: does "Ego" actually say something deeper or different than what I’m hearing, or is it pretty much what it seems?
New favourite Dany pic 🤘🏻
The most straightforward interpretation of "Ego" is that it's a straight-up "diss track", but imo the song is way more nuanced than that.
Firstly, the "diss" itself (the one originating from the band, rather than a general narrator) can be interpreted as targeted either towards haters and critics (along the lines of Narcisista) or towards obsessive fans who constantly scruitinize and/or project their expectations onto them. These groups do share some similarities, but are not identical.
Then some lines are quite defensive, rather than combatative, in particular:
>Ya lo intenté, ya me cansé - I already tried, I'm tired of it
Si me odias a mí, yo no quiero vivir así - If you hate me, I don't want to live like this
Mi voz se pierde en la lucha - My voice gets lost in the struggle
So within the overall response to the external hostility there's tension between reactive outward aggression and an expression of inner exhaustion / emotional detatchment.
>Yo no ladro, yo solo muerdo - I don't bark, I just bite
No es mi culpa que siempre gano - It's not my fault I always win
Yo no lloro, sólo cobro - I don't I cry, I just get paid
Which shifts the tone of the song from a straight-up "I'm the cool level-headed hero of the story dissing you" towards "Look at what I'm having to use as a defensive mechanism, see what this prolonged conflict has turned me into".
The key line "a direct attack on the ego" doesn't necessarily mean the song is an attack by the band on the ego of the sources of the external hostility directed at the band; it can also mean the reverse, i.e., the song is about how these sources are attacking the ego of the band.
Looking at the song from a general narrator POV, the narrator may be outwardly displaying strength and dominance (attacking others' ego), but this comes with internal emotional strain and hardening (which is the result of the narrator's ego being attacked).
So a more complex interpretation of the song is that "winning" against external attacks of the kind described doesn't come with internal liberation, but quite the opposite - one's own ego becomes one's trap.

Last Week, 'Kerosene' was at #15.
Hi all, relatively new fan here. I was wondering if anyone has been able to buy resale tickets for the the Skater's Palace show in Germany. They were sold out super quickly, and haven't seen anything come up on Eventim or Fansale.
Or, if anyone has experience with this venue and/or Eventim; is it normal for resale not to be open yet a month and a half before the show date?
I just really want to go and see them live, and this location is my best shot 😄. Any help or insight is welcome!
Edit: clarified the venue is in Germany.
I love the riff, Im a sucker for their Spanish songs, I love how nu-metal it feels, and ofc the star of the show…
PAU’s WICKED SCREAMS. absolutely incredible. I was kinda iffy on their last two singles but this one song was enough to convince me that yep, this new era is gonna be incredible.
its an immediate s tier on my tier list
