I posted here back before the caverns show giving away a test print I did for it. I got such great feedback I figured I’d share a couple prints I did for the Gizz show this weekend in forest hills. If you’re going I had the foresight to print some extras I’ll be bringing with me Friday night! Oh and it’s fluorescent ink so it glows under black/blue light. Good luck out there y’all!
Levitation has announced its first date in South America for 2027. They have also stated that there will be dates in Buenos Aires and Santiago as well. Tickets will be on sale on Wednesday at 10AM BST
Heathen Axe fucking ruled!
Super obvious what’s happening here /s
I kinda think there was like an oscillating fuzz built into his guitar or something because there was no visible distortion pedal and he was using all four knobs of the guitar, no matter which pick up he was using, to change his tone do feedback/oscillation shit. But really I dunno.
Been trying to figure out the lyrics to THE BRUTE ON HIS KNEES for weeks now and there’s a few lines I can’t decipher. Any other ears able to help me figure out this ear worm?
“Blinking blindly …. ???” (Sounds sort of like “high on horse”, probably rhymes with “off course” in the next line)
“There’s not much I can say …. ???” (Sounds like “to right the path we stayed while lying, sun is dying”
My full interpretation is below
ALSO: ANYONE HAVE AN EXTRA TICKET TO ONE OF THE SF SHOWS??? I would gladly reimburse
Thanks in advance!
THE BRUTE ON HIS KNEES
in C minor
Cm - Eb/Bb - F7/A
I stood as if to leave
F - F7/Eb - Bb/D
And it felt so far away
Cm - Eb/Bb - F7/A
Blinking blindly high on horse
F - F7/Eb - Bb/D
Your balance broken and off course
G7/B - Cm
There’s not much I can say
A/C# - Dm (+ descending riff, or + a short D major at the peak of the guitar solo)
To right the path we stayed while lying, sun is dying
A - Gm - A - Gm
I don’t want to destroy you
I la’d a lullaby
The willow weeping cracked a smile
I want to break and cry
As the time fleets far away
There’s not much I can say
To right the path we stayed while lying, sun is done
Gm - Cm - F - Bb - Eb - Ab - D
Ahh
His head left his body
And the blood sprayed on the clowns
He fell down to his knee
I felt excitement in the crowd
What a stupid thing to see
What a violent life we lead
While drifting way off course
I don’t want to destroy you
Ahh
I held him in my arm
And my heart was full of song
Swaying softly in the breeze
His balance broken and off course
La La La La La La
Not finding anything at first glance. It wouldn’t surprise me if he hasn’t, but just curious as I love that synth sound.
I think he has.
Live at the Broad features the band at their creative and improvisational live peak in my opinion.
Every performance is tight while keeping that loose improv kraut-rock infused style that they’ve experimented with on albums such as Face Stabber and Panther Rotate.
Every track features its own unique sound with a hard rocking monstrous 22+ min jam of “I Got A Lot” and a spaced out synth drenched opener of “Don’t Blow Your Experiment”.
This show is an excellent snapshot of the band that displays just how versatile they can be.
