Alts all the same, profiles with links to chat sites

Each account has it's own sub, for different fashion styles. Each has a post linking to external chat sites.

Stumbled upon these, one showed up in the feed, which led to the others popping up. Once I saw one dupe, I wanted to see how many I could find. Managed to find 5, but I'm betting there's dozens.

I guess profiles like this keep reddit alive with the traffic and clicks.

One other that I can't direct link since I called it out on another sub, sirrupaws

Karma farming by stealing other people's years-old comments

Can't take credit for catching this one, a reply caught them, but adding it here for discussion.

Multi-awarded comment from six-figure karma account with hidden comment history today:
https://www.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/1ti6j05/comment/omsnvgw/

Seven-year-old comment they copied:

https://www.reddit.com/r/youtubehaiku/comments/b0szs3/comment/eihq7zf/?share_id=FAEKLMbAHOjHGgwCZHaV9&utm_content=2&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_source=share&utm_term=1

Bot, or just someone who has a lot of time on their hands to karma/award-farm?

AITApod seems to be entirely a bot network

I filter most of these text based subreddits, but new ones pop up from time to time.

All the posts seems to be by bot operated accounts attempting to hide their post history.

For at least current top 2 posts, I've made comments highlighting their nature, here and here.

Laughing Emoji 😂 Skull Emoji 💀 Commenter Bots

It's kind of depressing just how many bots you can find with such a simple search term:

https://sh.reddit.com/search/?q=😂+💀+subreddit%3AAskReddit&type=comments&sort=new

It's by far the most obvious searching on r/AskReddit, with nearly every single match being from a bot account. Broadening it to all of Reddit does tend to pick up far more other random matches from actual people, but it still ends up picking up plenty of bots on a range of other random subreddits.

One does wonder what LLM + prompt they're using that it's so desperately wanting to cram those 2 particular emojis into the responses (in either order).

1 Sub and 14 Moderator accounts ...all compromised

Sub-reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/HowToDraw101/new/ BANNED

Moderator Accounts (hacked / stolen / purchased):

Installed 2025

Installed 2026

The live stream links / comments being posted by them are mostly being locked and stickied by these accounts. The usual suspects are also contributing to this petri dish.

Admin has been advised about both the sub and Mods ...if my strike rate is still up there I'm hoping for a pleasant outcome before the week is out!

Reddit adding the new "App" tag to spambot accounts

I just saw this for the first time. Here is a run-of-the-mill AI spam bot account: https://www.reddit.com/user/RiftJukebox/

Sometime recently, it's been given the "app" tag that indicates the account is automated, essentially outing it as a spam bot hooked into reddit's API.

Have other people noticed this happening? I'm curious if this is a random blip in the new system or if it’s foreshadowing that the larger rollout will start impacting the spam bot accounts.

Title: Another suspicious Storefamee promotion account

Been noticing an account repeatedly mentioning Storefamee across multiple unrelated subreddits in a way that feels very inorganic.

The pattern is usually:

- generic “helpful” engagement

- smooth pivot into recommending Storefamee

- very repetitive tone/phrasing

- little meaningful activity outside those mentions

Not posting this as a witch hunt, just documenting a pattern because it started standing out after seeing the brand brought up over and over in threads where it barely fit the conversation.

Account in question:

https://www.reddit.com/u/AcceptableShock8691/s/y0hiilZDmJ

A few examples:

- repeatedly inserting Storefamee into ecommerce/product discussions

- similar recommendation wording across different subs

- activity pattern looks more like promotion than normal participation

Could just be an overenthusiastic user, but it reads a lot like stealth marketing/astroturfing to me.

Sending nudes to every guy that upvts (my auto reply is on) just say yes

Jk. But seriously, has anyone else noticed these post titles blew up with so many accounts using copy and paste variations of this.

Also, for the record, Reddit doesn't have Auto-reply

I have clocked one ring in particular that follows a very distinctive pattern. A couple of weeks back they spawned alts for all of these accounts. They use AI for their faces. They will obscure their faces in real pictures. It's pretty obvious these women aren't "18F".

The blonde one, lowelltwyla, is especially much older than she wants to advertise on here. You can tell by the skin condition swap and bad bleach blonde roots showing(Example from today here). She's at least mid-20s to early 30s. The redhead, there's 2 accounts for, has self harm scars on her legs. If you look through either accounts posts, the scars migrate higher or lower on her legs. Her skin tone and facial structure (what you can see of the face that's not fully obscured) both are different between real and AI pictures as well as the shade of red her hair is.

A lot of times the AI pictures will have what looks like fingerprints either in the upper right or lower right corner of the image. It's AI artifacting of some sort. Also the profiles are all set up almost identically.

The fingerprints in question

One of them posted on Russian a couple of weeks ago and quickly deleted and reposted the same post in English. So now we know where the spam ring is based out of.

Anyways. The accounts in question. You'll see where their behavior and posting patterns are identical:

https://www.reddit.com/u/Differaaa/s/voVDbzq3j1 - this is the OG of the ring.

These ones may not be part of the same ring but it's the same model and she follows the exact same account behavior patterns. So it's an honorable mention:

Bot posts and likely subreddit takeover attempt

So on the art sub I moderate there have been a lot of repost bots appearing as of late. Even if they get by the filters, it is really easy to catch them (I won't say how I know, I think at least one of them is following me around).

Last night I had a repost, followed by three new accounts commenting approval, followed with a DM to the mod team (which is in fact just me). The modmail was offering a brand new moderation tool. And that would be a hijack attempt for sure.

Reposter that caught my eye: https://old.reddit.com/user/fickereljeecje2

Commenters:

https://old.reddit.com/user/fatteredluncqtured

https://old.reddit.com/user/Sselmaxx

https://old.reddit.com/user/goibledswopcorn6

Wording of the DM: Hey mods! I'm building a mod tool and wanted your opinion on it! Could I have a lil chat with someone?

I'm leaving out the user account of the DM for now.

Just wanted to get the info out there so someone smarter than me can give it a look.
