Really liking the T028 leather on my tropical T023.
Thought I’d try out the T028 brown leather strap I had lying around and it really makes the dial pop..

Wanted to give the watch a vintage look.
Purchased a vintage style bracelet, swapped on the original curved end links from the original bracelet, and added some curved spring bars. BAMM, it worked out.
I really enjoy my Thorn watches, and haven't had a single issue with any of the four (touch wood).
I'm seeing a lot of comments on here from people who've encountered issues and received what can only be described as bad customer service, however, which disappoints me a lot as someone who's been a vocal brand advocate.
There was a post here from the brand recently, apologising for issues and asking for feedback, but that's not enough.
I can't help but worry that Thorn is going from the hero of the affordable vintage homage world to the villain.
I know y'all are going to hate it, but I heavily hate how there is no OTF adjust on the standard bracelet. I also hate that I cannot put on a different bracelet due to the lug holes being slightly moved on the V2.1.
But I really love and enjoy this watch and want to wear it, so I had a spare rubber strap hanging around and gave it a shot.
Thank you for listening to my TED Talk. Have a great day.
Took my T020 up the mountain on a nice Victoria Day holiday in BC.
Anyone ever have any issues with their GMT T023? I recently bought ia GMT “new” from an eBay reseller and it’s been nothing but issues. Admittedly I’ve passed the return window, but only by days at this point. The GMT function never set right - quickset date was just fine, along with time etc. Sometimes when setting the time, the GMT will follow the hands, others will not budge. It also appears to be catching on the 2o’clock as well.
I’ve taken it to a watchmaker and he quoted me £400 to repair as he’d have to disassemble completely.
Thoughts?
Just came in today. Thankfully super fast shipping. First thorn and I can absolutely understand the hype behind the brand!
I’m in the honeymoon phase. Hopefully that this will be a nice addition next to my SN0138.
I think this is the strap it will live on for a few days, to see if I can come to like the bezel.
Almost nothing out there on this watch so I’m going to try to give my feedback along with answer some of the questions I had before buying basically blind.
First off this watch is killer! The Sunray grey dial is great. The fit and finish is fantastic and the titanium makes it super light weight. The bracelet also may be the best thorn I have.
I think the best way describe this watch is a Frankenstein of gmt master (case shape and movement) a yacht master (bezel and dial) and a sea dweller ( valve, wr rating and thickness). It’s really a cool marriage that wears nice and is super unique.
Observations: the watch wears a little tall but nothing crazy. It looks more like 12.5 -13mm thick than the advertised 14.
The rehaut: it’s really not that deep. I’m not saying it’s shallow by any means but the pictures make it look like a canyon, I can assure you it’s not that deep. My black bay smiley definitely has a deeper rehaut than this watch.
I’m really loving it and am glad I took the chance. I’ll upload more pictures tomorrow when I have time to get some good sunlight photos. But for now I’ll upload a few i took in my office. My wrist is 7inch for reference
Just got mine in today and have been excited for it. When I opened it I was instantly bummed.
The bezel looks like closer to a ghost, not what I was expecting.
It looks over aged/sanded. Anyone else’s like this? Is it just me?
I would greatly appreciate feedback.
On my V2.1 the endlink failed today, just had it on my wrist. One of the rings attached to the link fell off. My V2 with solid links still going. Really disappointed..
First the movement failed within a month. No response from the website so i ordered a new one and replaced myself. And now this.
Boat lift/doc day at the lake. Works great underwater.
The smudge is mud or something on the crystal
Did they stop selling these ?
Hello,
Has anyone found endlinks compatible with an Oyster without this offset?
Comparison between old version (without offset due to the offset hole) and new version received.
Thank yu
Just thought I should share pics of my collection of thorn's I've got since January this year.
It always shifts to being top heavy. I have spent countless hours adjusting the bracelet. I love the watch but it really makes me not want to wear it. Best solution I’ve found is a leather strap.
I baked the dial and hands. Used coffee. Tumbled the case. Minute hand got messed up. Kinda dig it
