New to TikTok Shop — 8 sales my first month, but I feel like I have no idea what I’m doing!

I’m pretty new to TikTok Shop and have made around 8 sales in my first month, which I’m excited about, but I honestly still feel like I have no idea what I’m doing lol.

I’ve been looking through my analytics and trying to understand what I should actually be paying attention to — clicks, CTR, conversion rate, GMV, which videos/products to keep pushing, etc. I’d eventually love to turn TikTok Shop into a significant source of income/full-time job, so I really want to learn how to approach it strategically instead of just posting random product videos and hoping something sells.

For people who have been doing this successfully for a while:

What metrics do you pay the most attention to?

How do you decide when to keep making videos for a product vs move on?

How many videos do you usually test before deciding a product isn’t converting?

Do you focus on a few products at a time or test a ton until you find a winner?

And is there anything you wish you knew when you were first starting?

Literally ANY advice is appreciated. I’m super new to this and genuinely trying to learn as much as I can.

Issues opening a Tik Tok Shop - $90M Amazon Seller

As the title says, I'm a high revenue Amazon seller. Have generated close to $90M in revenue on Amazon in the past 10 years, and am currently doing over $1m/month in sales there.

I figured I'd want to test some of my products on TTS to see what the hype is about, but every single time I go to create an account it gets suspended.

I've tried appealing multiple times but it's always the same response. "We can verify your identity", or more recently "Risk and safety concerns".

Some background:

I have a NY based LLC and have had it for the past 10 years.
Have gone through 1 corporate name change, but have all the IRS documents to support it and all current IRS paperwork is in the new name as of 5 years ago.
US Citizen with US passport and NY drivers license - both have been submitted to TTS multiple times
Have a physical warehouse in NY - proof has been shown to TTS appeals in the form of a lease.
Have provided any type of personal and business verification they've asked for, mortgage statements, video verification, utility bills, invoices from suppliers, everything.

I have nothing to hide, and nothing should be unscrupulous about my paperwork or my business, yet I've never been able to get approved.

I've just used up I beleive my 5th attempt of opening a new TTS account. I believe you have the ability to create up to 5. Each time has been a different email and phone number according to what I've read on the matter.

At my witts end with this. It's getting to the point where I'm thinking of just creating a new LLC just to sell on TTS, but it would be an absolute nightmare for me. Any one have any suggestions?

I might attend a trade show next week where TTS has a booth literally just to speak to someone about my issues. Is there any support channels for high volume sellers? or does anyone have ANY advice for me? I've been through the ringer countless times with Amazon and their requests, so I think I'm pretty well versed in preparing these documents correctly, but I'm clearly doing something wrong.

Sent 100+ affiliate invites on a new shop, 0 responses. How do you break the cold start?

Hey everyone,

Just launched a shop selling what I think is a cool and unique product. I’m stuck in the classic cold-start loop with only 2 sales and low visibility.

I sent 100+ targeted affiliate invites to micro-creators (5k–50k followers) in my niche, but haven't gotten a response yet.

Two quick questions for experienced sellers:

Is this normal for a new shop? Do creators auto-ignore invites if you lack enough sales?

How did you get your first 5–10 sales & reviews? GMV Max ads, direct DMs, or something else?

Appreciate any advice!

Absolute corrupt fraudulent support

I don't need to explain my story. But tiktok shop should be avoided at all costs. You can find the same items on Amazon usually for the same price. Even if you are paying an extra 10 dollars it's worth it than having to lose your money dealing with this fraudulent shop and it's customer service

Payout Marked as Paid but No Deposit

Hey everyone!

I've been using TTS for about 2 months now. My payouts have been initiated every monday like clockwork and in my account by Tuesday morning for the last 5 payouts. I checked this morning and it's marked as paid, but nothing in my checking. Should I be worried about this? Thank you!

TikTok shop offering unsolicited discounts.

TikTok has recently been giving customers crazy coupons/discounts on my products which is really affecting my gmv. I’m having $20 products people are buying for a dollar and even had a few $7 items literally sell for 1 cent. Is there any way I can stop TikTok from giving out these ridiculous coupons?

Does Zendrop work with tiktok shop?

I've only recently heard of TikTok Shop and have thought about starting one alongside my regular store. I'm already using zendrop for my other store and just want a clearer picture of how it could work with tiktokshop. I wanted to know this first to know if I can use the same system for both of my stores instead of having to relearn new stuff.

Has anyone used the two together? Can I even connect it to that, or am I just fully misunderstanding how it works? Any explanations and details would be very much appreciated.

How to stop TikTok siding with buyers

I’m having multiple people claim their package was delivered but they never received it. I deny the refund becuase it says dropped off at mailbox. But TikTok always sides with these buyers even though they are clearly lying. I had another person cut out cardboard and say this is what they sent me in the bag and then I also lost money their it’s so stupid how do you guys keep TikTok from always listing to buyers blatant lies?

Our Shop went from 50 to 0 orders

When we first launched we were easily getting 50 orders a day. TikTok was apparently boosting us since we were new. Then they wanted is to pay for ads. We did. Cost around 3-4$ per order and we would get 15-20 orders. Our videos would get 1k views before ad spending which would then get them to around 15-30k views a bunch of likes, a bunch of followers. We grew to 2k+ followers.

After a few months sales went down to maybe 5-9 orders a day.

Now if we launch a video it’ll get 1-5 views and if we pay for ads it’ll cost $12 per order. Our product is 20$

Essentially our TikTok is dead. No videos are being promoted. Every day we’d get likes and follows even without posting content —residuals. Now nothing. Been weeks since we got a follower and likes.

No violations ever. We took a break from posting but that’s it. Now it’s just dead. We reached out to TikTok and they said everything working fine.

Anyone got in this boat and was able to remedy it?

Using a TikTok account manager (UK)

Hey guys,

So I’m running a collectibles shop on tt mainly pokemon tcg.

I’m looking into running the suprise sets auctions but for the life of me cannot work out what the actual eligibility or requirements are. I’ve read that people work with TikTok account managers and then subsequently get access to the suprise set auctions.

How do I go about locating a TikTok account manager that has relevant experience in this field ?

Is it worth using a TikTok account manager ?

Any experience or help in this field would be really appreciated 🫶🏼

Tiktok Slash & Free

Does anyone know if the tik tok slash and free is legit? I already picked my three items and it says I can get it for free but as the price goes down it says I have to get other users to click the link so the price can get down to $0. I already got 4 other people to click the link and used my other tik tok accounts but the price is taking forever to get down to $0. How many other people do I need to get to click the link and will it actually get down to zero? Also how long will it take them to send me the products?

Beginner Need Advice

hello! i’m wanting to start doing tiktok shop affiliate creator and made a brand new account to try to get to 1k to be able to start. does anyone have advice on how to grow the fastest? i’m doing the follow for follow but i keep getting capped at how many ppl i can follow in a day. i started yesterday and am barely over 100 followers now. i guess at this rate i just need 2 weeks of doing this method. also does anyone have general advice on how to start? i’ve been watching youtube videos on how to start tiktok shop in 2026 and its the usual pick trending products and make good content etc but what else is there? i personally messaged some tiktok shop creators who i loved their way of promoting the products clearly and aesthetically and they’ve shown me their estimated commission and it’s actually insane how much they’re making so that’s why im motivated to just try it out instead of just dismissing it and thinking well i will never earn that kind of money cause who knows!! im currently unemployed (24) and while i am job searching, i still have so much free time to just do/get/make stuff and have been getting really interested in creating content and making side income so thank you in advance for any advice on this journey!

Question about TikTok Shop Books and Author Credentials

I recently bought a parenting book called The Parent You Aspire to Be by ‘Miles Carter’ through TikTok Shop.

The book itself caught my attention, but when I started looking into the author, I realized there is almost no information about him as a person. I can’t find a normal author bio, background, website, interviews, social media presence, education, career history, etc. The publisher’s page basically just lists his name.

I’m not necessarily looking for him to be a psychologist or have any particular credentials.

I’m more curious about the bigger picture:

Is this common with books being sold through TikTok Shop? Are there authors who publish books under a name but have very little public presence or biography?

For anyone familiar with self-publishing, TikTok Shop, BookTok, or the publishing industry:
Is this normal for newer/self-published books?
How can you tell who is actually behind an author name?

Does TikTok Shop make it easier for relatively unknown books/authors to get traction?

Have you come across books where the author has essentially no online footprint?

I’m genuinely just curious because I’ve never encountered a nonfiction/parenting author where I could find so little information about the actual person behind the book.

How do solo sellers prepare for a sudden spike in sales?

I’ve been selling on TikTok Shop for a bit and the thought of actually going viral freaks me out.

I personally ship products for my tiktok brand and I am usually busy and my sales are decent. The thought that scares me is if a video suddenly blows up, I’m not sure I could handle the orders, shipping, customer messages, or restocking fast enough.

Feels like one big hit could mess everything up instead of help. Anyone else feel this way? Is it better to just stay small and consistent or should i prepare myself for the big day and start outsourcing the fullfillment part?
