Is this a tornado?

I don’t know much about how tornadoes look on radars but what I do know is that 180kph winds is very strong. Can someone confirm if this is a tornado or not?

alternative angle of the Didsbury Canada EF-4 (1/07/2023)

the didsbury EF-4 was one of the strongest and most photogenic tornado's in Canadian history. it ranks top 10 in the most powerful tornadoes in the country.

it holds a particular meteorologic record in Canada.. it lofted a 9-10 ton (9,000-10,000 kg) combine harvester 100 meters. it also effected approximately a dozen houses with 3 them being completely destroyed.

fortunately, this tornado killex zero people and only injured one. a woman was seeking shelter in her basement when the 600 meter wide tornado went by her house, the house collapsed ontop of her and caused some head and midsection injuries.

the unique appearance of this tornado not only made it look otherworldly.. it also made this twister appear bigger than it actually was. the tornado measured under 700 meters wide with 275 kilometer per hour winds.

the dust Field gave the tornado an appearance of that, of a multi mile wide beast due to the MASSIVE amount of dust that was picked up and thrown out of its windfield. the links below provide 2 different perspectives of the tornado.

This Tornado Wasn't Supposed to Be There | The Ghosts of Kansas

One of the questions I get asked most often is:

"Have you ever had any close calls storm chasing?"

The answer is complicated.

On June 20, 2026, a brief tornado touched down just west of my position and began lofting debris from a nearby farm directly across our path. Minutes later, I found myself taking some of the strongest straight-line winds I've ever experienced in a storm. It threw me off the road several times.

So...no, usually not. But sometimes 'The Giants" remind you who's in charge.

This 2-minute sequence is one of the most intense scenes from THE GHOST OF KANSAS.
