Toyota Crown owners: is it actually worth it?

I’m looking for a comfortable and reliable new sedan, and the Toyota Crown Crossover caught my attention. I’m just not sure if it’s worth the price or if there are better alternatives. I’d appreciate opinions from owners or anyone who has test-driven it. What do you like and dislike about it?

Looking to diy a thinkware u3000pro using the OBD-II, but I have read in general that constant OBD-II caused some problems for cars? What are your experiences and how long have you been using it?

Is it a good deal Crown Sedan Limited + Tech package

I’m being offered $1500 below invoice price.
MSRP is $51134 for limited with tech package
Dealer is offering for $45866 as it is on the lot and they want to move it.
I like the car and it’s the color I was looking for.
Should I go for it? Wondering if the deal is too good to pass up. I don’t need a car immediately can wait until August or September.

[Question] Seeking advice for 1996 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon E-Four (JZS153 Sedan)

Hi everyone, I’m the owner of a 1996 Toyota Crown Royal Saloon E-Four (JZS153), and I’m finding it a bit difficult to track down specific information and community support for this specific configuration. I’ve realized that my car is a Sedan (framed windows), which seems to be much less common in the enthusiast space than the ubiquitous Hardtop models. Most of the information, parts compatibility, and aftermarket support I come across online are strictly for the Hardtop trims, which makes identifying parts for my build a significant challenge.

I love the car, but it’s definitely a "deep dive" project given how different it is from the standard Hardtop community. Any leads on where to find more information, or tips on navigating the differences between the Sedan and Hardtop, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

1998 Toyota Crown · Royal Touring

I’m currently thinking about buying a 98 crown for a daily and want to know what the community thinks about it. I’ve read previous posts and see the normal “it’s a 30 year old car it’s gonna break” and how parts can be hard to find but I work on my own cars and I have a 02 is300 and 99 gs300 also with the 2jz-ge so I don’t see it really being a problem to work on. I’m just a little nervous. I’m young and never had an imported rhd car or even driven one but I’m super interested in the car and think I would love it.

This is amazing for a full size AWD sedan

24 Limited with tech package so it has the 21' wheels. Currently averaging 40mpg and I don't use eco mode.

I am considering purchasing a used current Crown

What are the concerns or issues with 2023 to 2026 models? Most of the used Crowns have had to be realigned by the current or past owners. This has been seen even on low mileage models. I am mostly interested in the Limited Edition.

De-badged look

Here’s pictures of what it looks like without the front emblem badge. For those who are curious. I liked it even though I have the Crown emblem.

Replaced Toyota badge with Crown and added black door handle covers to match the trip. Looks great!

Tint shop got water in my dash, now getting “Braking Power Low” and “System Malfunction” warnings. Anyone dealt with this?

For context I’m driving a 2023 Crown Platinum, 32k miles in Arizona.

Got my front windshield and side windows tinted yesterday morning. Picked up my car yesterday afternoon and immediately noticed water dripping on my feet under the dash on the driver’s side. Before I even got out of the parking lot, these two warnings popped up back to back on the cluster:

•	“Braking Power Low - Visit Your Dealer”
•	“System Malfunction - Visit Your Dealer”

Today, Check engine and hybrid system malfunction lights are on now, 24 hours later.

I reached out to the shop yesterday and they told me the car stays running during install so they can roll the windows up and down, and that the battery was probably just “a bit low.” They said park it in the sun and it should dry out and be fine by tomorrow. Well it’s now tomorrow and the warning lights are all still on.

Has anyone seen these warnings triggered by water intrusion or electrical issues? Trying to figure out how serious this is before I take it to the dealer tomorrow. The tint shop has it documented in text that they acknowledged it wasn’t “normal” so I’ve got that at least.

2026 Toyota Crown XLE Lease in Arizona What’s a Realistic Good Deal Right Now?

Planning to lease a new 2026 Toyota Crown XLE Hybrid AWD in Arizona and trying to figure out what people are actually paying right now.
Dealer near me is advertising around $449/month with about $4k due at signing for 12k miles/year. I’m trying to compare it against a RAV4 Hybrid and CR-V Hybrid lease.
For anyone who recently leased a Crown:
What monthly payment did you get?

How much down?

10k or 12k miles?

What’s considered a GOOD realistic deal in AZ right now?

Is it worth it over a RAV4 or CR-V for daily commuting and comfort?

Trying to avoid overpaying and understand what numbers dealers are really accepting right now.

Suspension kit for Toyota Crown Athlete G

I used to own a Toyota Crown Athlete G 3.5 (GRS214) in Japan. Before moving to the USA, I bought a brand new KYB Extage complete suspension kit (EKIT-GRS214 (springs + shocks/struts)) but I sold the car before I ever installed it.

Now that I’m in the US, I’ve heard that this kit might fit some Lexus GS models here, but I can’t find any definitive information online.

My Crown had the factory electronically adjustable sport suspension (Toyota AVS). From what I understand, the GRS214 shares a lot with the Lexus GS platform, but I’m not sure which exact USDM GS would be the closest equivalent.

Does anyone know:

Which Lexus GS chassis/model is mechanically same with the GRS214 Athlete G 3.5, and whether the KYB EKIT-GRS214 suspension can bolt onto a US Lexus GS?

If so, would it only fit AVS-equipped Lexus GS models?

Price

Looking to buy a 2026 toyota crown limited. Currently it’s at $51,000 I was wondering how much I can get off the car. It’s been on the lot for 130 days and has not been reduced in price. I was also the first person to drive the car and put 5 miles on it.

I have 2024 Crown Limited and I would love to know if there is a film that can go over my infotainment screen to reduce/eliminate fingerprints?

Why are Nightshades Discounted?

I am strongly considering a 2026 Crown and all the dealerships within 90 miles have a black Nightshade immediately discounted 3k while leaving the Limiteds at MSRP. Isn't the Nightshade a better package/better return or is this just an anomaly of where I live?
