Character and Fitness question about previous bar applications (being denied)
Hi all - there’s a character and fitness question in NJ asking if you have EVER been denied from a previous bar application? I applied to New York a year ago via UBE transfer and needed to get a waiver of the 36 month rule. I got this waiver but NY still initially denied my application because it was past 36 months (sent an official letter and everything). When I emailed them, the person reviewing the application said exactly this “that’s silly, someone forgot to upload your waiver to the system”. I was then proceeded to be admitted. Do you think this counts as EVER being denied? I am learning towards no since that same application was then reinstated but everyone says to over share. The problem is if I say yes, I need to provide transcripts, records, and a statement from the NY bar council (a big headache). Besides, the reason for the initial denial was fully their fault. What do you guys think?
