Allen drinking and driving

I'm sorry, how has this not been discussed more? Allen goes out drinking with Madison, then drives home and justifies it by saying he felt ok and he knows his limits? And he says it's his life and he can make his own decisions?

Sorry, when you drink and drive, you don't just risk your own life. You risk the lives of everyone around you. Allen fucking sucks.

Match Married Meet channel

I just bought my first "Smart" TV and it has a list of streaming channels. I feel like I may be the last one to know this, but Lifetime has created a channel of just Married at First Sight. It's not just a rerun channel. They've actually edited out all the annoying parts that drag everything out. It's not an on demand channel. You can't pause or fast forward or pick the season you want to watch. They're playing the Nashville season right now, but they interjected some of the Washington DC wedding moments, but not the whole episodes kind of like a promo for what they'll stream next. It's called Match Married Meet by Lifetime.

It's a Vizio so I wasn't expecting free channels like my ex got on his Samsung. It's kind of nice. Am I the last one to know about this or are some of you grabbing your remote right now?

Does anyone else think that David wasn’t completely in the wrong?!

From day one Michelle treated David like crap! The way she fixated on him renting at his parents house to the cold comments and treatment she gave him. It’s like she held herself on some pedestal…A person can only take getting treated like ish for so long before they loose interest. I believe that Madison and David commiserated together and that’s where they started to bond. If anything I think Madison is more f-ed up for dragging Allen along. She knew she wasn’t attracted to him since day one. She had the responsibility to be honest with him. Same with Michelle, she never once acted like she really wanted to be with David. Even if he never cheated, I know for a fact she wouldn’t stay married to him. Now wonder why David fell for Madison. He was being emotionally abused and needed someone to show him some attention. Too bad it ended up with someone else on the show but the heart wants what the heart wants. As soon as they felt that way with each other, they should’ve came up with a plan to tell their partners. But again, my opinion, Michelle deserved it! She is as shallow as they come.

Married at First Sight isn't worth it anymore.

My husband and I watch Married at First Sight regularly and I cannot watch this show anymore. Too many episodes in each season. How many times can you rehash the same content? Your so called experts match couples that have no business getting married in the first place. It's for the drama of the show. You lost two viewers tonight.

Cheating should have consequences

I feel like David and Madison’s story should have not been focused on in the show. The drama leading up to the big blow up and the search for truth sure, but MAFS giving them lots of couples time in the last episodes where it was almost like they were a couple selected to be together was just… weird.

Sure, some part of me was interested in how they ended up but I think the show is undermining its purpose by switching gears like that and pushing their cuteness and falling in love.

What they did was slimey af and shouldn’t be rewarded.

Maybe it’s an unpopular decision but I feel like they should have been shamed (as they were) and then only shown as it pertained to the group activities.

Dr Pia is a hack

Seeing how Dr Pia handled her convo with Emem is giving Tyra Banks on Americas Next Top Model. The fact that he called her an Asshole and that wasn’t handled seriously and then put onto Emem to fix is sick. This show is hard to watch with these “experts” convincing people to accept mistreatment so that the season can carry on.

Does MAFS only recruit people who love drinking?

I honestly think this is a gateway question. The show revolves a lot around social get-togethers with alcohol. They even have their own golden cups/glasses.

The honeymoon, socials and retreat seem more entertaining and interesting when people are drinking and more likely to say stupid/provocative stuff.

Do you think they screen applicants and only accept moderate to heavy drinkers?

Have there ever been contestants who do Not drink?

Making Sense of David and Madison, take 2

They fulfill a deep need in each other. (Spoiler: the needs are dysfunctional.)

David is grandiose with a self-image that exceeds the facts (30s, still living in a sloppy basement at his parents). He does whatever he has to, including deceit and lying, to maintain the image of a successful, desirable male. He is delighted to have found an attractive blonde-haired woman that accepts him and reinforces that image.

Madison is unsure of her worth as a person, and especially as a woman, and seeks external validation for both. She overreacts to negative suggestions about her character (her indignation at Allen’s observation that she acted like a party girl) and invests a lot in outward appearances (makeup, false friendships) in order to maintain a protective façade. She is delighted with David’s male attention, even if based primarily (solely?) on her physical appearance.

They fit each other’s warped psych needs like matching puzzle pieces.

What do you think?

[And please, no "you're excusing them" vibes. None of this excuses the lying, deceit and hurt they caused. In that regard, I don't really care how damaged they are. I would be just fine if they were excluded from the company of decent people.]

Season wrap up

Okay, I can’t help but wonder if the entire Emem and Brandon situation was all for the camera’s and attention. I truly don’t feel like the truth was told between her and Ike. I wish everyone all the best but I definitely feel that Brandon capitalized on the moment to get the most attention from the views.
Plus Pastor Cal wasn’t having any of it and neither was Dr. Pia.

Allen’s inbox post-show

mild SPOILER VIBES

I gotta imagine it will be stacked. Hopefully the right person DMs him and he can move on from this BS.

Bring back the rubber chicken and goofy clothes!

Do the experts watch couples daily life footage?? I feel like they have no idea what couples real issues are, who is being honest and who is being an ass.

Frustrating experts gives no help. Gives generic advice and horrible matching. Especially Ikechi, the experts doesnt see how much of a dick he is.

Season 18

This is my first time posting here.So i'm not sure if i'm doing it right or not.But i'm watching this season, and I just have to say those two white "blonde" chicks are such b******. They get nice guys and they totally screw with their minds. It's no wonder why the 38-year-old isn't married. And madison isn't much better. And she certainly is not beautiful. She's okay maybe pretty but she's far from beautiful. and Allen is just an adorable sweetheart. He is very nice looking! And David is awesome too!

Alan season 18

I get David and Madison lied, but I like them as a couple, and i think they are a good match. I am glad they were in some ways unapologetic about their relationship while apologizing for lying.

Michelle was upset because she was lied to and so was alan, but it was very clear they were not going to end up with their partners. I feel like this is not a 20 year relationship it is a person they married at the altar and they were together for two months and it was going no where. Not an excuse for cheatinf, but I would say it is "cheating lite".

Also, anyone get the vibe alan is a little strange. He was always bringing up sexual talk with Madison or with the group. Madison was already not feeling him and that would just make it weirder and more uncomfortable. Also Alan breaking and burning things I hope production just told him to do that because the reaction was on par for Alan, strange.

If you were on MAFS, what would you want AND not want to hear from your spouse at the alter?

What would you want to hear? What would you NOT want to hear?

Yes: You're very handsome!

No: My ex's name is tattooed on my chest

David and Madison Had It Planned from the Start

**David worked to scotch the deal with Michelle from the very start.**

That’s why he told her he smoked and lives in his parents’ basement as soon as they left the wedding festivities. Then, when he and Michelle went to see his place, it was a mess. Not cleaned up at all. Any guy who wants to be with a new woman cleans up his place for the first showing even if in a basement. From there, it’s just a matter of wife-beater t-shirts and dirty fingernails. That, and feigned emotional tone deafness. (“I know I’m a great guy! I don’t understand why Michelle isn’t into me?”) Together, that would irretrievably turn off any decent woman.

And all Madison had to do was never warm up to Allen. Besides the wedding kiss, she never touched him.

Madison and David acted to get together from the start. And that is why he had refused to talk about the timeline of events.

Thoughts?

Finishing this Chicago season

I’m thinking too much into this BUT…did they just put two Latinos together and automatically think it would be a match? Sorry but that is exactly what it felt like! She wasn’t traditional Latina compared to Juancho. I don’t think he explicitly stated he wanted a Latina, did he? But Karla’s spirituality was a turn off to Juan. They were different, but I think they were paired because they were Hispanic and that’s it. Am I missing something?
