Grail Acquired!
Picked up the watch I’ve been wanting for several years. I originally went to an AD to get on the waitlist, but after seeing one in person I knew I couldn’t wait. Went grey and got it for 19k which is about $450 less than retail. I figured why wait when I can find this reference slightly cheaper from a grey dealer. Also traded in my old 90s Datejust which I’ve had for nearly a decade. It was kind of sad to see it go, but couldn’t be happier to finally have a Bluesy!
First big boy purchase to celebrate a great financial year.
Been a dream since I was a young man to buy one, I was considering buying vintage but couldn’t come to terms with 36mm. And of course, a great cigar to celebrate.
Made the call
Finally purchased my dream watch for my 40th celebrating last week. I work in the auction industry so getting access to luxury items was never an issue, however being able to afford it was. I basically have been saving up my Christmas bonuses and any tips ive acquired over the last few years. I was gifted a vintage 1601 two tone when I first started and also traded it in. All in all added 10k of my own to make it work. I probably won't ever make another purchase like this again knowing there are far more responsibilities that technically should come first. However, I dont want to live life in regret. I use to fall asleep watching YouTube reviews on the batman ha now I fall asleep looking at it and my wife thinks im crazy. All I know is I worked my butt off for this and when you set a goal and work towards something it feels so much better. I know im not the person who probably should have this watch on this sub, but there are many out there who deserve one. So for those I just want to say keep grinding and staying positive. You can make anything a reality. 🙏💪
Got the call!!
Really excited for the Wimbledon. I had originally been waiting for the fluted bezel and Jubilee bracelet, but once I tried on the Oyster and smooth bezel configuration, I knew this was the one. It feels more versatile and sporty than I expected.
Got the call!
34mm Candy Pink OP for the Mrs. Maybe I can get away with wearing it too?
Yachtmaster Rhodium 40mm. Got the text.
3-4 month wait. 55k spend prior to this. Only one other Rolex (JC Deep Sea) from them. I wore my Speedmaster in to pick it up, pic for comparison as I believe it's the same diameter.
Thrilled. Didn't even have to size it. Fit right on (7.5 inch wrists). The grey with the blue seconds hand go perfectly together.
Unsure what to get next. I have a Deep Sea, GMT Master Sprite, and now this. I kind of like the Polar Explorer II but I also want to save up and seriously consider H. Moser and Cie.
Got my first Rolex a few months ago...and now the rest of my watch collection is collecting dust. Anyone else have this problem?
Got my dream watch from the AD (SUB DATE), and now the rest of my watches are collecting dust. I gave my Tag automatic chrono to my brother on his birthday, and gave my Mont Blanc automatic chrono to my old man on his birthday. Im left with the speedy pro and smp300 which I do daily sometimes but when Im wearing the Omegas I wish I had just worn the Sub. Don't know what it is but when I wear the sub it's a different feeling, like having a porsche 911 turbo on the wrist. Anyone gone thru this when leveling up your collection? I almost want to get rid of the 2 Omegas and get another Rolex or perhaps a used AP or VC. I didn't think the gap in watches would be that big but after wearing it...I don't want to wear anything else.
First Rolex
Got the call from the AD and barely see myself ever taking it off. Love the watch.
First Timer
Took a second but I’m happy that I got my first allocation. I was skeptical about the classic submariner until I saw it in person and I’m all cheese now that it’s on my wrist. Cheers all!
First Rolex😁
Hey guys! I’m extremely happy to share that I just bought my first Rolex today as a university graduation present to myself.
I actually got extremely lucky as I first registered my interest with the AD back in October 2025 but after that I didn’t hear anything. I’d seen a lot of advice online saying it’s worth booking another appointment to show that you are still interested, so that’s what I did.
When I got there, I got the usual run down about how they can’t guarantee a timeframe because allocation is out of their control. Then the sales rep said “One sec, let me check something”. Next thing you know she comes out with the watch I was after. It turns out it wasn’t actually my reps allocation but they had one in stock so she asked if she could allocate it to me, got the green light, and I was able to buy it there and then.
I live in London so initially I was very scared to wear this out but I purchased insurance so I’m definitely going to get my moneys worth!
Help with Kermits
Found these kermits, all naked, 16610T, I notice 2 have the same bezel and 1 has a lighter green - what can you guys tell me about these? Whats the difference between the 2 greens? Do they look correct? I think i see maxidials on all of them… what can i offer for these.
A Blur To See The World Around You
Was hiking up on a glacier in Iceland, and sitting down taking a break and taking it all in. For a second I saw my watch in front and thought it would make a great photo for this forum but after a few shots in focus, I admit I didn't like the world beyond blurry and the watch in focus so reversed it and it stuck in my mind that the freedom and fortune we have to own a Rolex pales in comparison of the freedom and fortune to travel and feel smaller in such a larger world. It was complete silence up there and really struck me that my Rolex deserved no headline here, but this beautiful glacier and opportunity to feel the bigger world around me did. Let's all focus on the beautiful things in life and just put our ownership of Rolex in perspective.
Roatan, Honduras
I spent a full week in Roatan and after seeing so many dive shops decided to get my Open Water Scuba Diving Certification. It was such a fun process and I had a great time seeing so many fishes, eels, and turtles. I figured it made sense to go with my Submariner. Cheers! 🤿🇭🇳
First Rolex
I’d been eyeing up a subtle tool/sports watch for a while and was flip flopping between an omega aquaterra and the explorer 1.
On a whim I made an appt with my local AD and tried on a few from the collection (explorer 1 36mm and 40mm, explorer 2, airking, a couple of date justs).
There was something about the explorer 40 that just worked for me.
I hadn’t bought anything from that AD before and was expected a little wait, but to my surprise he offered me an allocation there and then!
I couldn’t be happier. Stylish, subtle and robust.
