Dad's Retirement Treat - '24 GT Premium

Dad retired and after years of watching Mustang videos on YouTube, looking at Mustangs in person but having second thoughts, he finally pulled the trigger. 2024 GT Premium in vapor blue, with the bronze package. I think the blue and bronze makes for a killer combo, and the louvers we installed last week are the icing on the cake.

He still watches the Mustang GT review videos on YouTube, but now he's got his very own in the garage to look at and drive after that 👍🏼 the most fun either of us have ever had driving a car, by a long shot.

Looking for advice on pricing. Dealer wants $38,500

2024 Mustang ecoboost premium with roughly 5000 miles. Dealer has list price at 37500 and quoted me 38500 otd. I started negotiation at 32k and went up to 34k but that is my ceiling. Is that reasonable. My personal research and similar spec Mustang pricing says yes but I’d like some more opinions.
For extra context this car was listed at 41500 MSRP brand new. The dealership has had this car for 45 days.

*edit I am NOT interested in buying a GT. My only question is regarding a fair price on THIS car*

Should I Trade My 2024 GT for Dark Horse 2024?

Hey everyone,
Need some collective sanity check on a trade I'm looking at.
I’m weighing swapping my current ride—which is sitting at a very fresh 3,500 miles—for an immaculate, garage-kept Dark Horse with the Handling Package that has 25,000 miles on it. Making the jump also means adding roughly $10k to $15k to my loan.
Here is how I’m wrestling with the math:
The Mileage Jump: Going from 3.5k miles to 25k miles is a big mental hurdle. Even though the car is pristine and clearly well-cared-for, it's still a noticeable jump in wear on the odometer.
The "Build It" Trap: If I stay put, I know I'm eventually going to bleed cash buying the exact things the Dark Horse Handling Package already comes with out of the box—upgraded suspension, wider wheels, stance, proper aero/spoiler, headlights, etc.
The Financial Hit: Taking on an extra $10k–$15k on the loan plus taking a higher-mileage car hurts, but am I just paying upfront for factory engineering and parts that I'd end up piecemealing and buying anyway?
For those of you who have faced a similar crossroad: Does buying the factory spec pre-built make sense when you factor in modification costs, or is taking on more debt for a higher-mileage car a bad move no matter how clean it is?
Would love to hear how you'd break down the math

Is a 150k-mile Mustang a bad idea for my situation?

I’m an international student in the US and will only be here for ~16 months total (8 months here, 4 months back home, then another 8 months here).

I’m considering this 150k-mile Mustang. I know buying a high-mileage car isn’t ideal, but I really don’t want a boring car either. My dream has always been to own a convertible, so please don’t just tell me to get a Toyota 😭

I mainly want something fun and reliable enough to get me through my time here without becoming a money pit. Would you consider a 150k-mile Mustang for my situation? What should I look out for?

Note: I already asked the seller if they have maintenance records and they said no.

Update: Thank you all for the responses! The consensus seems to be that it’s not worth it, especially since it would likely lose a lot of its value by the time I need to resell it.

My dog bought me a Dark Horse!

Dad, sugar momma, wife’s boyfriend, figured the dog was the next natural choice. Sadly not my photo, I can’t imagine an Atlas Blue Dark Horse will be easy to find even if I wanted one

Edit: locked after 10 minutes? Literally being silenced. This is what George Orwell warned us about

I couldn’t resist but taking a picture

I wish my car was cleaner with fewer bugs, but the lighting was too good not to take advantage of.
