Still no improvement from tretinoin after using 2 and half months.

I began using tretinoin 0.025% gel once a week on 11th March 2026. From 12th April onward, I increased the frequency to twice a week and have continued with that schedule until now. Despite this, I’ve developed more closed comedones, especially around my T-zone, mouth line, and forehead.

I read that salicylic acid cleansers can help, so I tried the COSRX Salicylic Gentle Cleanser. However, I’m still unsure about what to do next. Should I wait longer to see results, or should I visit a dermatologist now? It’s been almost three months, and instead of improvement, I’m only noticing more closed comedones.

Tretinoin

Hi, I have been dealing with acne after coming off the pill and feel as though I've tried all the skincare people say helped, and am now considering asking my GP for a tretinoin prescription, and was wondering about people's experiences with it. I do have relatively sensitive skin, which concerns me, but I don't really know what else I can try, so I am just wanting to gauge whether people found it helpful or not, as well as knowing how badly people purged/peeled

random congestion

i recently made the transition to nightly use of tretinoin 0.025% cream as an oily skin type fighting comedonal acne after using tretinoin consistently for 3 months. its been 3 weeks since i started using nightly and ive noticed that instead of my skin getting smoother, im getting tiny clogs in areas that were just clear and i dont think its a secondary purge. im thinking this is because i continued using my 0.5% salicylic acid face wash every morning like ive been doing the past 3 months alongside tretinoin and it was never an issue for me but now i think i cant use it daily now that im using tretinoin daily and i think its irritating me but i dont feel any irritation at all. i just have minimal flaking around my mouth but i believe thats just my skin getting used to nightly tret.

what do i do if i cant drop the saliyclic acid wash because its been useful but feel i cant use it every morning anymore because it may be causing more harm and how do i know if it is or isnt? im scared that not using the sa wash every morning anymore is gonna clog up my skin and using every other morning wont be strong enough. please help!!
