I like seasons 5,6 and 7, but very annoying with the ending

I like the Lilith and Sanguinista storyline (I like everything about religious zealots). I also like the horrific and emotional plot about the death camp and the Hep-V storyline. I feel like the last seasons are more emotional and dramatic and had even more potential than what was actually used.

What I don’t like is the ending. Bill is so annoying, and Sookie’s story feels like it’s saying that women need to accept “normality” and get pregnant/have children as if that’s the best possible outcome for them. I’ve also never liked Jessica and Hoyt together.

I do like how things end for Pam and Eric, and that Sara Newlin gets what she deserves, but everything else — nah.

Who else feels the same way?

I get so angry over Sookie by the seasons

There's too many instances where her stupidity has come in the way / hurt people around her. What were the writers thinking?

I've been keeping it in but I've reached a boiling point on season 7 episode 7. Where bill is infected with hep v.

Niall, Sookie's faerie grandfather has made it abundantly clear about her royal faerie bloodline just a few episodes ago. In this episode, bill's life is on the line and Sookie's acting like it's so important to her to fix this, when Dr Ludwig mentioned about faerie bloodline SHE JUST STAYS DUMB, EVEN WHEN DOCTOR QUESTIONED HER MORE. WTFFFF UGH

The writers of True Blood

I really wanted to see Sookie Eric Bill threesome or just vampire threesome. Even Alex and Stephen wanted Eric/Bill love scene, but they (the writers or HBO? ) kept telling them NO. Why?

What are your questions about the book series

I’m over halfway through the series and before I read it myself, I was so curious about the books but I wasn’t reading regularly because I couldn’t find the time, then I forced myself to find the time and it’s been such a fun ride. I figured if I was so curious about the books, surely there are others out there that would love to have some answers but may not have the time or enough want to read a 13+ book series.. so I’m making this post!

Ask your questions and I’m happy to answer to the best of my ability!

The responses will not be immediate, I’m gonna leave this here and get a move on with my day, and then I’ll check back later to provide answers.

Please remember I am not finished with the series, so I don’t know how it ends (although I do know who Sookie ends up with). I will make another post when I’m done with the series.

Was not expecting this!

I’m a huge fan of TVD (I’ll be visiting the real Mystic Falls in 3 weeks!!! XD) and I started watching this show because I heard it’s been recommended if you like shows like TVD. I was so surprised to see Lexi and Elijah! I know both shows aired around similar times but who would’ve thought they’d kind of cross over, since I watched TVD first I’m wondering if there were some actors from True Blood that appeared in TVD that I missed! So cool seeing them outside of TVD!!

Discord Server

Hey y’all! I made a discord server to discuss rewatches and reading experiences with the HBO series and the books. Needed a live discussion spot since I have nobody in my circle who is as into the series as I am. 😂

Feel free to join if you’d like 🫶🏼 will give u the link upon request as I’m not sure if links are allowed in the subreddit. Lmk!

Other shows like True Blood?

Are there any other shows that come close to that fabulous mix of comedy, sex, magic and drama? I'd love some recommendations please!

Oh My God(ric)

I’m on season 3 ep 5- trying to avoid the deep dive of this thread to keep from seeing spoilers BUT i wish they didn’t kill godric off. the help he could’ve done w all this tara n sookie madness in jackson is just making me wish he was there to put these elders (the kings, queens, and magistrates) into place (assuming he’s older than them havent quite done a deep dive yet) but Golley am i getting stressed. like for 1 franklin is a fucking nut and 2 so is Russell😫 i will say godrics ending made me sob in a happy way but fuck do i miss his demeanor and control of the nests he oversaw. bleh. just ranting

Plot hole I just realized...

I saw the episode the other day of Jessica being on the news as a missing person and her family doing a press conference to find her. I imagine someone in Bon Temps watches TV... so no one ever said anything or questioned it, including Hoyt's mama 😆

Just started watching. Why are their fangs so stupid looking? 😭

I googled this and immediately saw that they wanted to emulate snake fangs more than canines but they look so silly to me 😭

Looking for a fanfic.

Hi, does anyone know this fan fic and how to find it? I tried searching AO3 and FFN but no luck.

Somehow (Niall? Cluviel Dor?) Sookie gets magicked back in time to do everything over. But, she doesn’t just go back to before meeting vampires. She goes back to before her birth! With her memories in tact! She keeps her telepathy a secret even from her family. They end up moving to Dallas and she runs into Godric. Turns out when he sees her, he remembers the alternate timeline too. They eventually go together to see Eric, and that triggers him to remember too. Lots of other stuff happens, I think it was a pretty long fic.

Thanks for the help.

Tara

Does anyone have insight into what the writers were thinking with Tara’s character arc? She felt completely wasted in the final two seasons. Honestly, if I were Rutina Wesley, I would’ve been livid; Tara was such a powerhouse character who got royally screwed over in the end.
