Should I push my test back? (25th)

VR/44 DM/35 QR/36
35/44 (A) 30/35 26/36
41/44 (B) 26/35 32/36
37/44 (medify) x 30/36 (medify)

I am really worried about DM. My scores are VERY shakey on Medify.

Mock A QR was a flop because I skipped two entire sets because I didn't understand them. I understand them now.

I've not yet done Mocks C and D.

First Medify Mock: 20/47 and Ran Out of Time — How Can I Improve in 33 Days?

I just did my first mock on Medify DM and ran out of time. I’m quite slow when answering questions, so I’d really appreciate any tips on how I can improve my speed and overall score. I scored 20/47, and I have 33 days left to prepare. I really want to make the most of the time I have left and improve as much as possible. Any advice on what I should focus on would be greatly appreciated!

Help!

Hello! I'm a UK applicant, and yes, I did intend to put the Australian med school tag. From what I've understood about you guys, is you prep for a year because your cut offs are a lot higher than us.

I am applying to medicine next year, and will require a very high UCAT. I scored 2270 b1 the first time I did it, which, in the UK was a 93rd percentile score. However, I would like to target much higher, i.e. 2400+, as grad med is a lot more competitive.

I wanted to know how you guys build your preparation up for a year. Do you balance it with work/school? If so, how do you? And how do you prepare?

Please help me out here!

Thanks!

Interstate Undergraduate Unis

I am a Queensland student living in mm2 (not eligible for the rural scheme though) but my school and residential address has been in mm2 for the past 3 ish years so Idk it might be of some help.I did apply for qtac equity scheme related to this so.Anyway my predicted atar is 98.65 and ucat was not as good( barely competitive, around 70th according to last years stats). My parents still want me to apply interstate even after I have told them with my horrible ucat it's not really going to make a difference but still I'll try to make them happy. What universities should I apply too. Any ones that weight the ucat lower? have more quotas for regional/rural kids( even though I barely qualify as one).

Also on UAC, for JMP it does not specify the campus like it does for qtac. So how do you specify which campus (say JMP) you want as your preference.

What Are My Odds? [Non-Standard Transfer]

Hi, I am a metro applicant from WA (domestic + metro + interstate). I am currently studying overseas, but I wish to transfer to any of the non-standard-entry medical schools:
- UNSW
- JMP
- WSU
- JCU
- Bond

My stats are 99.50 ATAR, 2320 UCAT (790 VR) & 668 SJT in 2026 UCATANZ, converted GPA of ~6.5/7.0.

What are my odds as a domestic, metro, interstate candidate?

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

Chances for QTAC Medicine/Dentistry as a WA interstate applicant? UCAT 2180

Hey, I’m a Year 12 student from WA applying through QTAC for 2027 Medicine/Dentistry and wanted some realistic advice about my chances and preference list.

I’m currently aiming for around a 94–95+ ATAR and scored 2180 UCAT ANZ. I’m a metro WA/interstate applicant and don’t qualify for rural entry schemes.

My current QTAC preferences are:

  1. JCU Medicine – Townsville
  2. JCU Medicine – Cairns
  3. UQ Medicine – Provisional Entry for School Leavers
  4. Griffith Bachelor of Medical Science → MD pathway
  5. JCU Dentistry
  6. Griffith Dental Health Science

I know JCU has a strong rural/regional focus and that my UCAT may make UQ difficult, so I’m trying to work out where I realistically have the best chance.

Questions:

  • With an ATAR around 94–95+ and UCAT 2180, do I have a realistic chance at any of these as a metro interstate applicant?
  • Should I add/remove any Medicine or Dentistry courses available through QTAC?
  • Would you rearrange these preferences to maximise my chances of receiving any Med/Dent offer?
  • Does preference order actually affect whether JCU/UQ/Griffith considers me, or should I simply rank them by which course I would prefer?
  • Is Townsville or Cairns JCU Medicine more favourable for interstate applicants, or are they essentially the same for admissions?
  • Would JCU Dentistry or Griffith Dentistry be more realistic for my profile?
  • Are there any other Queensland Med/Dent pathways I’m overlooking?
  • And would changing my JCU application around would give me a better chance?

I’m aware Bond Medicine opens later, so I’m also planning to consider changing my QTAC preferences when Bond applications open.

Would especially appreciate advice from recent QTAC/JCU/UQ/Griffith applicants or interstate students. Thanks!

Am I cooked??

Heard that med school entry requirements throughout Australia have been inflated and it’s getting me nervous

I myself got a 98.40 atar and a 2300 ucat + 4th quartile Casper in WA

Wondering what my chances are for an interview in WA or even interstate for either med or dent as a metro applicant.

Cheers

I'm not really interested in going through postgrad/gamsat pathway bc i'm just not sure if i'll be able to get a good enough score on that if i can't even get a good score on the ucat lol

but anyways i'm just looking for some advice on where i can apply to now/if i should even bother applying (for context i am in nsw)

2026 Preliminary report is out

Damn everyone is doing really well, I think people can expect percentiles to increase from the looks and cutoffs for uni might be higher due to the higher scores this year. (Increased by 20 points from last year median )

I need help to get better at VR and D.M pleaseee

So my exam will be in about three weeks, and I still don't understand why do I get bad marks at the VR and D.M ones... I watched all sorts of videos on ytb, I checked the tips from the medify app.. and still nothing.

English isn't my first language, but I speak fluent English.

And my last score at the mock exam was 565 for VR, 515 for D.M, 465 for QR, and 4 for SJ...

And I want to apply for Birmingham uni, Southampton uni, Leicester uni and Oxford (even though I'm 100% sure I won't be accepted at Oxford..)

So I would love some advices to get better at it, and uni recommendations, thanks in advance !

UCAT postgrad?

Guys if I graduate from my bachelors degree this year and want to apply for med next year (undergraduate med degree not postgrad med), am I still able to take the UCAT with a bachelors degree in my hand or do I have to take GAMSAT now?

Bad ucat score

Currently a first year biomed student and got a 98.85 ATAR last year. I sat the UCAT this year but underperformed A LOT 😭 so now I’m kinda unsure what to do from here.

I’m wanting to get into either med or dentistry, so I’m wondering what my best options are. Should I just stay in biomed and sit the UCAT again next year? Or should I look into other pathways/transferring somewhere?
I’m also considering taking a gap year but I’m not sure if that’s actually worth it or what I’d even do during the year.

For anyone who’s been in a similar situation, what would you recommend? Would really appreciate any advice !!
