Is it worth doing a general petition for a Late Withdrawal?

I am trying to see is it worth filing a late withdrawal as I have had issues with this one class and one professor. I was extremely sick this semester and received documentation regarding my sickness and all but one of my professors worked with me. For the first exam, it was completely my fault as a I received documentation late and I also informed the wrong person ( my TA.) I was willing to take the L on that however I was also sick around the time of my final exam, I received proper documentation and followed my professor (has also stated that my documentation was invalid despite being from the campus wellness center) syllabus down to a T but was told to just fill out a grievance and I received an F in the class.

I would like to know is worth doing an appeal and it this the appropriate measure to take?

Badminton class grade

The professor cancelled class half of the time often without notice, never taught us anything, always on his phone whenever he did show up. And I got an A- in his class ?????? I'm actually about to crash out. Is there anywhere I can complain?

Whats the most heartbreaking loss you’ve witnessed as a UNLV fan? (Football)

I’m doing a series where I ask all 136 FBS subreddits on what their most heartbreaking loss they witnessed. This loss could’ve been witnessed from the TV or while attending the game doesn’t matter.

If I had to guess for UNLV, without a doubt the 2017 upset against Howard as 45.5 point underdogs. The 27-0 comeback against Air Force in 2017, or the 41-16 loss to Southern Utah in 2011 after paying them $250,000 to play them.

Recommendations for Upper division BIOL classes

Hey guys, I’m a 3rd year biochem student.
I need to start looking into upper division BIOL classes to satisfy my 10 credit requirement.
I would like to have your honest opinions on a class (and professors) you do/don’t recommend.
I am planning to finish them in multiple semesters.
Rate my professor is not a bad resource but I’d love to hear from you guys.

Usually how set-in-stone are professors about final grades?

Hi all.

Of course, human ambiguity and free will and volition in play, lol - but I’m using the GPA calculator and I’m like a hair off from losing all of my scholarships. I’m drafting an email now to my instructor and seeing if I can turn something in for 50% - literally just the smallest bump. In most cases, do you find that your professors are forgiving and understanding enough to help you out this close to final grades (tomorrow)?

recommended professors for PSY 210?

hi! not to litter this sub with another "which instructor should i take" question, but i genuinely want to get more specific opinions on this. next semester, i have the options of russell hurlburt, joanne ullman, and kimberly barchard, and they all seem to have similar ratings on RMP. i know stats can be ass-kicking which is why i want to know which professor would be a good pick. ik unlv has quite a large amount of psychology majors, so if anybody took psy 210 with any of those professors recently, let me know how it went ^_^

Changing majors?

I’ve been considering changing my major to a BA in theatre arts with the design and technology concentration. I’ve wanted to do something more art oriented and am better equipped with the skills for it, but my main fear is I won’t be able to have a career out of that and my degree would be useless. My other option I was considering was architecture, but it relies a lot on math, which I struggle with
Would a BA be a good idea or worth pursuing?

P.S my mom is also currently helping me pay for college, and I don’t want to lose her support. She got a degree in graphic design but didn’t end up using it and she’s just worried if I switch I’ll suffer the same fate and just waste her money

Advice

I was recommended by my TA for a UTA position but I got a C+ in lecture, should I even try to still apply for the position and ask to be considered despite the B- cutoff? 🥲

Advice for work/school

Hi guys,

I’m a sophomore going into my junior year at UNLV. I just got offered a full time position as a legal assistant, despite working part time at a job I also really love. My current job is physically taxing, requires me to get up early (despite being in CSUN which often has long meetings), and sometimes takes a lot out me but I find the environment very rewarding as it pushes me to want to do better plus I do also have the ability to work more hours, I’d just have to work everyday. It is also a pretty slim chance that I would ever be able to get this job again. The legal assistant position aligns more with my future goals, it is closer to home, and I’d be making more money while working less days (4x10). I would also have room for self expression since I’d be able to wear whatever clothes I want and not a uniform like my current position. I’m just hoping to get some advice about what it is like to work full time while also being a student. My plan would be (if I take the job) to move my classes to online and still be involved in my extracurriculars and of course leave my current job. Please let me know what advice you all have!

TLDR: want advice abt working full time while also going to school

Looking to connect with other film majors!

Exactly what it says! I don’t have a working car right now and I don’t live near campus so I haven’t met anyone in the year I’ve been taking online classes. If anyone is interested in connecting, friendships, and collaborating on projects please pm me! It would be easier to do this in person I know I just don’t have a way to get to campus yet. Thanks for your time!

0% grade for an exam I know I took

Hello, I took my Bio final on Monday at the DRC and yesterday I received back a 0% on an exam I most definitely took. I emailed the professor got nothing back, emailed him again today again nothing back. Called the DRC today went to voicemail, sent a voicemail. He said that he’s going to put whats in the book right now as final grades soon, so I’m freaking out, I took that exam. Is there anything else I can do in the meantime, I don’t want to go through the whole final grade change process? Has this happened to anyone else using the DRC?
