Metal Roof Versus Polycarbonate Roof?

I busted the front left corner of the OEM polycarb roof on my KRX1000 over the weekend bad enough that it must be replaced. The same OEM roof new is about $550 delivered so no bueno for me.
I am hoping to get feedback on whether the metal/aluminum roofs get hotter and are the louder/rattle? Do they add actual strength to the roll cage? Does anyone add some sort of heat shielding? Anyone running the metal roof with the skylight like THIS? Does it leak?
Are the aftermarket black matte polycarb roofs more flexible and giving?

What’s the entry level gold standard for piddling?

I’ve been shopping casually for years (looking for a deal), but haven’t developed a brand preference. What’s the consensus on the best UTV for yard work/ gardening on a larger property, when you don’t necessarily need a major work horse?

2026 CF MOTO U10 Pro Highland XL First Trail Ride

Hey everyone! I’m following up on my post the other day about taking delivery of this UTV.

I took my family out to Barnwell Mountain to test the machine out and get a feel for its strong and weak points as far as trail riding goes. I don’t intend to do any crazy rock crawling with this machine but I do want to be able to ride trail systems without worrying too much about beating it up.

My first impression is very positive. The AC kept us cool all day in 102* heat with high humidity, the speakers were good clarity but could be louder due to engine and drivetrain noise, and the machine was overall successful on the trails we rode.

We stayed on easier trails this go around. I mainly wanted to do a shakedown and get familiar and comfortable with it so we didn’t touch anything over a blue. The suspension from the factory is really plush and comfortable but it does rock a little more than I would like. I read that can be fixed by adjusting the factory settings a bit. The major issue I see with this machine is going to be ground clearance. There were a couple of times where the break over angle was not enough to clear a big rock or root and had to get creative on the small width trails to get through. I assume portals and big tires would probably fix this although I’m not interested in going that route at this moment.

I did bring out the winch once, which worked flawlessly, but I did notice that the winch hook is very small so my normal shackle from my jeep days was too thick for it.

We aired down to 16 psi to be safe. We were solo on the trails so I didn’t want to blow a bead and be by myself to come up with a fix. At 16 psi, grip was impressive and only spun in a couple of slicker moments.

A few people at the park wanted to check it out and were impressed with the fit and finish for it being $10k cheaper than comparable competitors. So far, I’m very happy with the machine and the purchase and hope to get a lot of work and play out of it in the future.

Teryx4s or pioneer 700-4

Looking at 2021 or 2022 pioneer 700-4 and teryx 4 s model.

Both have accessories I want like roof and winch.

Mostly easy trail riding with family. Some more rocky trails plus snowplowing in winter.

I like the idea of beltless with honda but seems teryx wins everything else ? I know teryx is loud I'd be doing ear plugs I guess.

UTV Theft Deterrents

Just moved to a smaller community and we bought a side by side that you can drive on the roads throughout town.

The problem is even without the key you can shift the UTV into neutral (don't have to have your foot on the brake), take off the parking brake and push it around.

What is the best way to stop this? I know if someone is determined enough they will find a way to steal even if you have measures in place, but what measures would you suggest to make it harder to do?

Wisconsin Eye Protection Requirement

I just found out that the state of Wisconsin ATV/UTV regulations added this:

No person may operate or be a passenger in an ATV or UTV without wearing glasses, goggles, or a protective face shield, unless the vehicle has a windshield.

Sxs soundbar or nice rugged outdoor Bluetooth speaker?

I have been looking at soundbards on Amazon and YouTube but almost every video is a paid ad. I was hoping to get real people opinions who have checked out both in person. I am thinking something like a W-King x20 for 200 or so might sound way better than most of these utv soundbars, what do you think?

My new buggy just got delivered

Hello everyone! I just took delivery of a 2026 CFMOTO U10 Pro Highland XL.. phew, that was a mouthful. I had it tinted and being that this is my first utv, I decided on the 5 year warranty and the lifetime battery warranty. I’ve been on Dirtbikes and in sports cars my whole life but this is my first utv so I’m looking for some advice.

It will mainly live on my small property helping with fence work, clearing land, filling feeders, and whatever chores we have going on. I used to have a jeep that we would take to the offroad trails around us so I also want to do some trail riding with it sometimes.

I’m curious what upgrades i should be looking into first. I plan to do the break in as the manual states and change gear oil and engine oil at the 20 hrs. Does anyone have experience with this model?

TIA

🛑 UTV Race Shop (Pflugerville, TX 78660) is a horrible company to order parts.

🛑Just a heads up. UTV Race Shop is a horrible company to order parts from. Their website States hassle free returns. But as soon as you order a electrical component and try to return it they will tell you that they will not accept it even if it was plugged in once or installed. How crazy is this I tried to return a part the same day and now I'm stuck with the $200 part that I don't need because it was a blown fuse. When I spoke with Brian via email he was unprofessional and rude. Horrible unprofessional people.

From Product Manager:

"Electrical parts must be returned in like new condition. If you have plugged in the part, we will not accept the return. Write (order #) on the outside of the shipping box and ship to address below. Once we receive the part in original packaging in like new condition we will issue a refund."

Do UTVMA helmet holders work?

Anyone have experience with this product? I can't find much info about this product from users. We have a 3 year old who we'd like to drive casually with but are aware of how dot approved helmets are a bit too heavy for the necks of children that age and can cause strain and injury. He'll be strapped into a car seat with a 5 point harness. Many ppl counsel just using a bike helmet or full face BMX helmet.

New riding places HMT

Looking for some recommendations on where else to go on the Hatfield McCoy trails. For the last 2 years we have gone down and stayed at the devils backbone resort and rode the Devil Anse, Bear Wollow, and Rock House systems. We’ve gone and seen the things around like the swings, waterfalls and the surrounding towns. But I know there are so many other places and systems to ride and wanted to get some insight on where else to go and systems to ride that have cool things to see and lots of interconnecting trails. We just don’t wanna ride the same trails and see the same things every year. I’ve heard good things about the Pocahontas and ivy brach systems so lmk.

UTV buying guide?

I found a good deal on this UTV at a dealer about an hour away from me. That dealer has this new Yamaha Wolverine for $12,400. Today after work I went to a dealer down the road from me and they had the same Utv listed for $16,800 out the door. I told the salesman they were way off on the pricing and he said he could beat that offer and came down to $14,820 out the door. I’ve never bought new from a dealer but what kind of markup can I expect from the dealer at $12,400 with tax, title, fees etc? And yes I’m trying to get hold of the dealer with the lower price.

Best sport sxs to get?

Trying to decide what sport side by side to get, i’m looking at side by sides specifically a 2 seater 1000cc one and kinda on the smaller side so i can ride it on wood trails along with mud trails like the lake houser park, obviously something reliable too but i do understand stuff will break. the rzr 1000s seem like the best choice but ive also seen some of the older can am 1000s that are the smaller side but seem very top heavy. but the newer can am’s are huge compared to rzr’s. Also open to any recommendations with other brands

Can anyone tell me about this or where to find parts?

It runs currently. I bought it to help move hay and fencing supplies around the farm. And old fellow around the corner bought himself something new and sold this to me fairly inexpensive. But it looks like they either went out of business or the company was bought or something.

I know it'll need some work, but haven't been able to find much online about it.

2020 Mule SV 4x4 FI

I picked up a 2020 Mule SV 4x4 FI from some people I know. They didn't use it a ton and it has 115 hours on it. I knew it wasn't a speed demon to start with, but understood top speed to be 25 mph. I recently used phone gps to see how fast top end was and it couldn't get above 21 mph on flat road. Anything that I can do that is easy to get a few more mph out of it?
