Reliable Engine

I've got this pitster pro 200cc that I'd like to get going for my wife and kid. Currently the gy6 style engine needs a piston, head etc. But I'd rather put my money into a better built, more reliable engine. Wife doesn't want to play around with a gear shifter or clutch and it needs reverse. I like the older honda engines but they are hard to find (especially for cheap), how would you set this up? What would you try to drop in to pull small loads, cruise back roads and have decent power? I'm not sure if I want to go down the road of making it shaft drive but I'm comfortable fabricating the frame to make something work. I'd eventually want to add some electric drawing add-ons so a strong enough stator would be something to keep in mind as well

Electric Crew UTC with Bed?

I'm looking for a lithium 4 seat UTV with bed. I can only find this HuntVe Electra, but it's a small company and I'm concerned about service/warranty. Basically, looking for an electric version of the Polaris Ranger Crew XP 1000. Anyone aware of one?

Tool suggestions

Just picked up this ‘23 Fugleman, mostly for farm work, and I want to start collecting the tools I’ll need to maintenance it myself. Let’s assume I don’t have a wrench to my name. What should I pick up first?

UTV mounted sprayer - need suggestions

I have a 2023 Mule Pro-FXT and a 1/4 mile gravel driveway. I also have a Honda Rancher 4wheeler. Bermuda and weeds have started to overtake the gravel so I’m trying to reclaim the driveway and also have a system for keeping it maintained. Looking for suggestions on the best mounted sprayer to use for either vehicle. I see ones that spray at a wide angle but I do want to be careful with all the landscaping in front of my house. Maybe I could use a spray wand for those areas so that overspray doesn’t nuke the plants? Any advice is welcome.

Florida Street Legal UTV ? Switching from a golf cart

Our "street legal" golf cart gets too much use and abuse so we are wanting to switch to a UTV . I know UTV/OHVs are not able to be registered in FL unless converted to a LSV. Is there a way to modify and classify as LSV for registration purposes and then flip a switch to let it unlock its real potential when offroad? We aren't looking to cruise normal roads at 45+ mph, but the trails and canals we visit and fish on require us cutting through a few neighborhoods.

Toddler seat

Wondering how others have strapped in young children when UTVing! We have a north star and want to do some very easy trail riding with our 1 year old but the harness seat is still too big. Anyone find a decent solution for a car seat?

Rev and Then Jerk Into Gear

2015 Polaris Ranger 900xp

I bought this ranger about a month ago. Motor and everything is super healthy, everything works great expect for whenever I put the machine into reverse I have to rev it up before it will engage and then usually jerks backwards once as it reverses.

It will also do this if im in high and I get on the throttle from a dead stop. It will jerk forward but then drive great with no issues.

The machine by far does it the worst when its the first time driving it for the day and seems to get slightly better and it fully warms, but it definitely still does it even when fully warm. I put a brand new oem belt in it last week hoping that was the issue but no luck.

Any thoughts in what this could be??

Edit***
I figured i should mention, when i say rev it up then it engaged into reverse, i mean i have to hold some rpm for 3-4 seconds and then it clicks in and jerks back. Whenever i shift into reverse i do hear something from the motor area click in, same for high gear. So i think the transmission is engaging but just not for sure

Frustration incoming, not finding what I need anywhere

I've been slowly upgrading my side-by-side and I'm honestly getting frustrated. Every time I find something that looks decent, it either has terrible welds, questionable fitment, or the reviews are full of people saying they had to modify it just to make it fit.

I'm mainly looking for things like bumpers, rock sliders, skid protection, and a few other trail-oriented upgrades, not flashy stuff, just parts that are actually built to take abuse. Am I expecting too much, or are there still companies making heavy-duty parts without charging crazy prices?

Where did you buy parts that have actually held up for you after a season or two?

Just to add, I don't mind buying them from multiple places, even online maybe. I already got a bumper from Rogue powersports, but finding anything else is just a pain really. Probably will wait for sales like some of you recommended here haha. Thanks everyone for your answers

2025 Honda Pioneer 1000-6 vs. 2023 Can Am Defender Max xmr HD10

Hey y'all,

Looking for some feedback between a brand new 2025 Honda Pioneer 1000-6 vs. used 2023 Can Am Defender Max xmr HD10 with 185 hrs and 1,200 miles. The Honda is $22,300 OTD and the Can Am is $19,500+ tax, title, registration (so about $20,300).

Which one would you buy and why?

Which UTVs are best for trails and streets.

We just moved up to northern Wisconsin and are looking into getting a UTV. We would like a 4 or 6 seater to just cruise around the area and hit some trails nearby. We wouldn’t be doing anything too crazy. Lots of used ones around here. Also what should I be looking at when purchasing used. Thanks!

Pro UTV racing.

With UTV's being relatively new, are there factory side by side drivers or even privateers making a paycheque?

With the industry catering to older consumers are the drivers also older?

Kind of curious about it as I was always into dirt bikes, rally cars and monster trucks myself.

Any ideas where to find a mounting bracket for a kemimoto soundbar?

Need some help. I bought a used Kemimoto soundbar (16 inch RGB) for my dad's Honda Pioneer. It works great but did not come with the mounting bracket. I would like to mount it to the tube/roll bar. Any ideas? I contacted Kemimoto and they were no help at all. Thanks everyone

Outside Storage

I recently made the mistake of going into my local powersports store, and now I can’t stop thinking of this Honda Pioneer 520. I don’t really have convenient garage space and my shed is too small too. I do have some space behind my shed, but I’m not sure if storing it outside would be okay. So, I’m hoping the folks in this sub might be able to offer some advice. Thanks!

Canam Defender HD9 DPS went out.

So power steering went out and shop is telling me its gonna be $3,000 to repair. Part number given was 709403212. Its for a 2021 Canam Defender HD9. Everything I'm seeing shows it for newer model. Can find one on ebay for $900, for what seems reputable source. https://www.ebay.com/itm/137186990031

Anyways, any thoughts on this? Is this just overcharged part type shit? I'm somewhat okay at turning a wrench, is this a repair I can do myself?

Also see something like this? https://circuitboardmedics.com/2016-2025-can-am-atv-utv-dynamic-power-steering-dps-module-repair/?gad_source=4&gad_campaignid=21737373093&gbraid=0AAAAAD03_45sZj6y66qDyP13RaPaD1JO7&gclid=CjwKCAjw0o3SBhBVEiwAh28-jYVX7o7A5HJrXbDjWsrJQmhRPBDf_VxEVgqu1keqmByMPC9cz_ER7RoCtAAQAvD_BwE

Could really use some input! Thanks!

How strong is a 500/550 engine?

Looking to buy 1st Utv for my property. Running up hilly trails with wife and dog on board , occasional firewood, dirt hauling. Just wondering if a 500/550 engine is adequate.
