NOT maxing

Is there any benefit to NOT max out combat stats as an iron?

I do exclusively wildy slayer tasks and have been trying to avoid raising my combat lvl to lower my chances of getting killed. But as my slayer level is improving (87) task are becoming more difficult because monsters are harder to hit and deal damage more often. I guess I'm asking is there any justifiable reason to play as a Ironman pure™ in the mid/late game or am I losing my mind for nothing

A New Way To Play OSRS. Meet A1readyDead.

A1readyDead is my roguelike inspired Ironman. Where you must race to unlock items, quests, and achievements before they are deleted and lost forever.

This is my First attempt at an OSRS video.

I hope you all enjoy.

I need helping naming this mode so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :D

Wanting to create an RS3 extreme one-chunk, wondering what start is most fun or interesting

I know its probably not massively popular here but this seemed like the right place for RS3?

So I'm looking at trying an extreme one-chunk on rs3 (a few exceptions to avoid the most overplayed aspects like inevitably cleaning a dwarf weed in your first chunk no matter where you go)

My three ideas are

Edgeville, which contains the whole dungeon and a 95 fletching req. as well as 89 herb

Dungeoneering chunk, so 120 dg and 90 in most skills within the chunk, as well as ED3 just next door (a bit pigeonholed into it)

Lumbridge starting chunk, which is obviously quite relaxed and a classic but I worry about 99 div and farming (with no real methods exceeding 4 digits per hour) only two chunks away completely killing the fun entirely

Which would you pick if you were going to play? If you have any suggestions I'd love to hear also, especially for chunks that look fun with cleaning herbs as a primary method removed

Best starter chunk if Jaggex made an official chunk mode?

if jagex let you pick your starting chunk, and all the rules that the big chuck accounts follow are in play, what would be the best chunk to start?

you would start in that chunk as if you just left tutorial island, have no quests completed, and respawn in that chunk upon death.

open to any other discussions on the topic or rule/condition ideas or things to consider.

Random One Skill at a Time account

Hi Reddit,

Just sharing the start of my Rng OSAAT account 99Roulette. It's a Hardcore Ironman and if I die, then i stop playing the account.

Spun the wheel and got Woodcutting first. Seemed a little boring of a starting skill, but got to roll with it. Just sharing so that someone that isn't myself knows what I am doing haha.

Progress On My 13 Def Ironman

Hey guys, this is my 13 def Ironman that I’ve been working on for about a year now. I’m super happy with the progress so far, currently working on elder chaos robes and then I’m pretty much done with wildy content apart from KBD slayer helm!

Help me theorycraft a challenging Bronzeman mode

Normal bronzeman rules (and no pvp), but what if all monster drops, items in shops and item spawns were off limits until you've earned/unlocked them via skills first?

If there is no other way to obtain an item, then shops, spawns and monster drops are ok. Think for example, Slayer gear shop and Stonemason.

I'm talking like,

* 86 smithing for rune axe (shoutout Madseason)

* Rake, needs 55 Construction to build a tool store 5.

* Shortbow, needs to have flax farmed and spun first.

* Thieving HAM members becomes the way to obtain bronze pickaxe.

* Leather gear, requires Lunar spell book to Tan hides.

* Egg, build an Oak larder 33 Construction

* Bucket, steal from Digsite workman 25 Thieving

* Plank, small salvage at 15 Sailing (Sailing requires Pandemonium quest, which requires Saw from Tool Store at 15 Constr)

What other silliness in early game is to be expected?

What does BMM unlock for us?

I'm thinking a lot about 10 hp ironman builds, specifically for rushing.
Bronzeman (the bound version) will not get xp in pvp, just like ironmen. So 10 hp builds can be a fun way to go. And since we can buy unlocks on GE, we can risk more things.
So pitch in with ideas. What better than:
Fire surge to gmaul with gmaul, tome of fire and spiked manacles risk?
Or ballista to d knives/thrownaxe?

The most relieved I've ever been to get a drop in my life! All kills done with melee on mobile. Next stop PNM!

Fallen From Grace Completed on the 10HP Defence Pure (No Overheads, No Phoenix Necklaces)

After about ~40 deaths (I'm not very good at the game), I finally managed to kill the Mad Angel during the Fallen From Grace quest! Aside from getting used to the bosses' mechanics initially, most of the deaths came from getting screwed over by the dialogue box that appears when you eat Nightshade, which you need to do to remain at low HP (<3 HP) so you can successfully tick eat the P2 triple lightning attack.

  • No overheads were used (1 Prayer)
  • No Phoenix necklaces were used (1 Magic)
  • No Purple Sweets were used (food sacks work just fine; it just means more inventory management)
  • I didn't use rings of recoil for the quest version (I need to rebuild my stack but would definitely use for post-quest KC)
  • Shout out HardTwiddle for help and theorycrafting!
  • I believe this is the world's first 10 HP iron completion with no overheads and no p necks! Sorry IronFlash, I know you were grinding it yesterday too :S

Rendi's latest video covers the mechanics and the solve for level 3 irons, but I plan to upload a detailed guide + footage of the full kill with some other useful tips/tricks. I'll update with a link once it's ready.
