What is Cap'N'Co Industries?

Cap'N'Co Industries is a mid sized simulation community created by myself a few years ago to find more people like myself to play games with! We focus on quantity not quality. This means the more the merrier! We have had this philosophy for the past 4 years and it seems to have provided us with some great times xD. We have won competitions in the past on games like Railroads Online & Star Citizen for our cinematic creations and creativity! We also enjoy listening to all kinds of music from 80's Rock to D&B to vocaloid. We would like to welcome anyone new or experienced to our community. We are a community of many games, so join and find a community not just a railroad.

^(Other 'tisms' include: Model Trains, Photography, Memes, Trucking, Shooting, etc etc.)

Cap'N'Co Railroads

>^(Runs officially on Wednesdays @ ~17:00 - 23:00 GMT & Saturdays @ 14:00 - 23:00 GMT. With shorter sessions throughout the week.)
Cap'N'Co Railroads, the official railroad, runs a railway in North Carolina between Sylva & Kirkland Coal Mine & Alarka, running light freight & passenger services. We own a mix of American & imported UK engines. The current operations consist of supplying the locals with box cars and providing Kirkland with an ungodly amount of coal cars! So we are looking for shunters, main line engineers, and crew members.

CommoneWealth Oil Company

>^(The server is run on AU times most afternoons.)
CommoneWealth Oil Company a partner railroad running between Sylva & Alarka; Mostly going for that busy branchline feel. We have plenty of local trains being run with the heavy mainline bulk hauls; and the pass being handled by our lovely DMUs. Day to day ops include shunting the various locations along the line. there is always something to do so we are always looking for engine crews shunters and yardmen to help out.

^(The Railroads is modded with a few train & map mods. We are happy to teach how to install these and have file packs with everything we use. Throw me a DM if you want a mod list prior to joining.)

Norfolk And Western Recruitment

Now Recruiting – Norfolk & Western Railway Operations Group

The Norfolk & Western Railway Operations Group is a semi-realistic railroad operations community focused on organized movement, clear communication, and purposeful train handling. Our sessions emphasize real crew roles — dispatcher, yardmaster, conductor, and engineer — with no AI usage.

Every train has a job. Every move is coordinated.

We’re looking for members who:

Enjoy team-based operations
Are interested in dispatching, yard work, or road service
Appreciate structure, professionalism, and level-headed communication**
Are reliable, patient, and open to learning

Experience is not required. Whether you’re familiar with railroad operations or just getting started, training and guidance are provided.

If you’re tired of unstructured sessions and want a coordinated, realistic operating environment** where roles matter and crews work together, you’ll fit in here.

Select mods are in use on this save
Regularly scheduled operations sessions - Sessions are generally two times a week. Lasting anywhere between three to six hours.

Did the tutorial but unsure what to do now

I see a few pieces of advice but I dont see anything in the contracts and nothing is happening with the cars. Everything just seems idle. It said passenger services weren't profitable but am I supposed to start there?

Fly-by night Freight

One hot summer night on the Lehman & Everton, an extra hot shot freight was received at Bryson interchange Bound for Asheville. No. 11 "Izzy" had just returned from an evening excursion run from Logansville. Being readily available and given the ok from management, she was quickly refueled and put on the front of the train, all the old lady and her crew had to do was make it to Sylva, and stay ahead of the night express delayed at Hemingway.

One of the cleaners had hopped in his car and high-tailed it down just past governor's Island, almost to the bridge, and managed to capture the moment the engine came flying past.

Metric System?

Is there any way to change measurement units to metric system? Settings or mods?

Scrappalachia Tender Issues

Hey Railroaders!

I've been doing some searching to try to find an answer but no luck yet.

Does anyone happen to have a fix for a tender remaining behind after a locomotive has been scrapped with the Scrappalachia mod?

I vaguely recall reading about it being an issue with molded locos but I can't seem to find the post anymore.

Any help would be very much appreciated!

Edit:

SOLVED! Uninstalled he C&O T1 mod. Tender is gone. Reinstall with no issue. Mod must not be compatible with the Scrappalachia mod. Thanks for the help everyone.

How long does a day take late game?

So I've got about 20hrs played and I haven't even unlocked my first piece of track yet! I've bought just one train and a few more wagons. It takes me like an hour or more just to do one day even on my tiny track between Whittier and Ela.

I love Steam trains, so watching them is fun, but I can't help but feel like I'd burn out from moving all the wagons on a full line. How long does that even take??

We have operating sessions every Saturday, 1:00 to 5:00 PM EST.

MRR only requires you to have a microphone and some way to hear others talking. We can teach you everything else.

IN SEARCH - Buildings with Interiors

Hello Railroader! After the release of my latest short-film, A FIRE WITHIN, I have begun the production process for the next installments and currently, I am in need of help. There has been a LOT of additions to the modding community and so much of that has been helpful with getting custom assets, props, scenes and more. However, for the sake of the story, I require certain indoor scenes. After searching Nexus, I have come to the realization that the number of buildings with flushed out interiors are very little or non-existent.

For the sake of the film, I am in need of a bar-scene, and a house. I have been opened to the ASLW DMU mod, which has a cafe-car and editable menu, as well as other passenger car collections that have a kitchen and dining car. Those help with the bar scene or creating the illusion of one, however, I am need of a building that conveys a house. I do not know of any mod to fill this gap and wanted to reach out and ask for help.

To add, I know the station at Ela or Wilmot can be entered, as well as certain industries found on Nexus. I already used this in the series and to avoid repeat scenes, I am asking for other suggestions.

Is there anything to answer this problem? If not, what about using rolling stock to create the illusion of one?

Any insight, discussion, or feedback would be greatly appreciated! 🚂
