How do you number your locomotives?

I just saw a video of Hyce explainig the many ways railroads have numbered their locos, and thought I should do something like that to mine. Currently I'm between two systems:

  • A "role & type" system: 3 digits in which the first denotes the type and the intended role ( 1 road, steam; 2 road, diesel; 3 shunting/switcher, steam; 4 shunting/switcher, diesel ) and the other two go in order of adquisition
  • A "class": 3-4 digits. The first one or two denote the class of the loco ( just numbered each class in from top to bottom as is currently in the catalog ) and the last two, much liek in the other system, go in order, but for that specific class.

But while I flip a coin to decide which one I go for, I was curious if and what others have done to number their locomotives.

How should I organize my passenger trains?

I'm still kinda new to the game, so I'm still a bit short on engines I feel ( the starter Mogul and Ten Wheeler, an P-18 Pacific, a Switcher and my workhorse Mikado ), buuut I just got to the coal mines at Alarka Junction and got a T5 contract with the sawmill, which has increased my daily incomed a lot.

Which means that it's time to... how to expand the fleet. Which brings me to the title question.

Currently I'm making good with the small Pacific in a commuter service from Sylva to Alarka and back, at morning and at night. But for what I've been reaserching about ingame mechanics and engine stats, I keep seeing folks running express trains — I suppouse that means stopping only at mayor stations. So I'm thinking how do I intagrate them, or if I need them at all.

My plan at this point, looking that I'm finishing the rail to Nantahala and the Alarka Branch, is:

  1. Safe money for a P-43 Pacific and a A-26 Atlantic, and at least 5 steel coaches for each
  2. Set up an express thru Sylva-Dillsboro-Whitter-Bryson-Almond
  3. Keep the P-18 in commuter service from Sylva to Bryson with it's 3 coaches and 2 Pullman Open
  4. Get one of the starter engines in captive service on the Alarka Branch
  5. Set the Atlantic on a Nantahala-Almond route

I think it's a nice plan given I'm stopping at the feet of the fucking wall that is the western part of the map until better motive power it's procured. But I think I'm missing a few data points to carry it out.

Like, who should depart first? how much separation between the commuters and the express' departures should I leave? how will passengers' behavour by two trains heading in the same directions but at different time impact their profits? is this even an good set up to start with lol?

[TOMT] An early 2010s animated movie about a group of alien or furry kids involved in a futuristic hookey-like tournament that for some reason also involves saving the world, or something like that.

Ooof this one is an old one.

I remember seeing it on theaters and was one of those that, you kinda get flashed with one of those MIB memory-eraser thingy inmidiatky after. So what I remeber of the plot it's spoty at best and out of order, but it's being so long that it'll be worth the try.

Also, I saw another posts here about this same movie, but it never recieved an answer.

The thing begins with the main protagonist skatting his way through a futuristic skyway, weaving between traffic. Then he gets chased by the police, cuz of course, little wreckless shit, but manages to evade them and gets home, where the police is waiting, with his dad. Cue the "I'm dissapointed in you/I raised you better that this" moment, after which he gets his skateboard thing taken away, and at some point the father enrolls him in that hookey-like sport.

But it wasn't anything high-end, IIRC the only thing going for that class was that the trainer was a sort big name in the sport or somthing, and they didn't had, like, any trainig facility at all. This is, I think, where we meet the rest of the group, of wich I remember nothing except the lil' one that wasn't very good at the sport but was good moral support, maybe. Cue the Training montage and surface level character interactions that I don't remember.

Another plotline is that there is this championship of the aformentioned sport. We are introduced to the CEO or Showrunner of this sports league(?), and his obvioulsy evil brother, who owns a team in the league. I don't remeber if their motivations were exposed at some point, but the evil brother needed to win, as he had some kind of plot to take over something. More on that later.

Somehow, the protagonists team get to big leagues for their age group and eventualy face off againts the evil brothers team. What happens during the match it's gone to me, and problably wasn't important, because the BBG puts his plan in action, and shit gets way out of hand.

First he takes down his brother with a MIB-looking thing that turns him to stone. Then, don't ask me how, he becomes a giant cloud thing, that then starts petrifying the crowed, including the protagonists father, and possesses his own team to make them win to complete his plan for... something? But anyways, with the rules out of the window, the match kinda turns into a brawl, and before the protagonist coudl socre the winning point, he gets a helmet-to-helmet collision, courtesy of one of the last standing evil players, and gets knock-out cold. So it fell to the smallest player and worst player to try an make the final point, which he does in an epic slow-mo shot. This kills the evil brother, and returns everyone and everything back to normal. FIN

So, does anyone know what the fuck I hallucinated like 12 years ago?
