Tandem bike options?

Tandem bike options?

Just got back from vacation, and my kids loved using one of these tandem/tag-along half bikes.

It got me thinking that this could be a great way to extend the useful life of our Urban Arrow. We have three kids, and our oldest is 8, so we're starting to reach the point where having everyone in the box isn't going to work forever.

Has anyone successfully attached a tag-along like this to an Urban Arrow, ideally with a rear-rack-mounted connection rather than a seatpost hitch? I'd love to hear what setup you used and how it handles.

Obviously I'd take it easy with a kid riding back there. The use case I'm particularly interested in is school drop-off: tow the kid to school, then detach the tag-along and secure it alongside the Urban Arrow for the ride home.

Seems like it could add several more years of usefulness to the bike if there's a safe, solid way to do it.

New UA w/Dropper Seatpost

In case this helps people since I didn’t find the answer until I tried it, we had our local dealer install a OneUp dropper seatpost so that me (5’2”) and my partner (5’11”) can both ride our kids to school comfortably. The components are not cheap ($300) and the dealer charged a lot to install it ($200), maybe a non-specialist shop would’ve been cheaper. A wireless dropper seatpost I could’ve installed myself would have cost the same as all that. Cheaper dropper seatpost exists too but we went with a known name.
