Ik zit bij huisartsenpraktijk Binnenstad. Ik moet voor een kleine behandeling(oren uit laten spuiten) 8 dagen wachten. Ik ben nu praktisch doof en als ik het uit laat spuiten dan lost het probleem zich vaak snel af. Ik moet nu naar een particuliere organisatie en 75 euro betalen om deze behandeling te laten uitvoeren.

Waarom betaal ik voor een zorgverzekering als ik er niets voor terug krijg? In de richtlijn staat dat je binnen 3 dagen een afspraak moet kunnen inplannen.

Ik vond hem in de buurt van De Glint tijdens het wandelen..

I've already registered but they always have the same ads on the site and they all say they're available (no one has answered me yet tho- I know that’s normal) but the supposed thing is to look for their apartments in other ways? Someone has already managed to stay in one of the apartments they always have on the site?

Sorry if this is not the best place to ask this, but I would really appreciate some local perspective.

My spouse and I are two Brazilians currently living in Germany. We are 29, married, no children, and we have a dog. We are researching a possible move in the next 18–24 months and trying to understand what would make more sense for us long term.

One realistic option would be moving to the Netherlands, most likely Utrecht or somewhere in the Utrecht/Amsterdam region. We would both keep our current jobs, but under local Dutch contracts, so we would be employed locally, earning locally, and paying taxes in the Netherlands.

We are especially interested in Utrecht because it seems to offer a good balance: more livable than Amsterdam, well connected, international enough, and still close enough to Amsterdam/Schiphol.

However, I’m trying to understand how realistic this is in practice.
My main questions are:
- How difficult is it to find housing in Utrecht or nearby towns as an international couple with a dog?
- If one of us works hybrid in Amsterdam, is commuting from Utrecht to Amsterdam realistic long term, or does it become exhausting/expensive?
- How much should we realistically expect to spend on train commuting if going to Amsterdam 2 times per week?

For context, we are not looking for nightlife or a super busy lifestyle. We care more about a pleasant neighborhood, good public transport, parks/nature, places to walk our dog, good infrastructure, and a place that feels comfortable for everyday life.

We are also considering Stockholm. It seems very appealing in terms of nature, quality of life, public services and overall lifestyle. But the Netherlands would probably be an easier and cheaper move from Germany, and Utrecht seems like a very practical option if the housing and commute situation are manageable.

Has anyone here had to choose between the Netherlands and Sweden, or between Utrecht/Amsterdam and Stockholm specifically?

Would you say Utrecht is worth the housing/cost-of-living challenge, or would you personally choose Stockholm if quality of life and nature were important factors?

I used to be part of a writing group that met once a week for two hours of focused writing, followed by a drink and a chat. It helped me make consistent progress on my novel, and I'd love to create something similar here in Utrecht.

The idea is straightforward: meet once a week on a weekday evening for two hours of focused writing, followed by a drink and a chat. The goal is simply to carve out dedicated time each week for our writing projects while writing alongside like-minded people.

Everyone is welcome, whatever you write and in whatever language.

The exact day and location will depend on what works best for the group, but I'm hoping to start in September after the summer holidays.

Ik wil binnenkort (opnieuw) gaan starten met rijlessen en ben daarom benieuwd of jullie nog tips hebben voor rijscholen waar jullie goede ervaringen mee hebben gehad (of goede verhalen over hebben gehoord van anderen), die ofwel in Nieuwegein gevestigd zijn ofwel (ook) leerlingen uit Nieuwegein aannemen. Vanuit een eerdere rijles ervaring zoek ik vooral een instructeur die geduldig is, duidelijk uitlegt, goed op de hoogte is van CBR ontwikkelingen, zoveel mogelijk maatwerk levert en zich ook echt aan afgesproken lestijden houdt. Een schappelijk tarief (voor zover dat tegenwoordig nog kan) zou een pluspunt zijn. Ik hoor het graag en dank alvast!

Hoi allemaal,

Wij zijn op zoek naar ervaringen van jonge gezinnen in Galecop in Nieuwegein. Zoals voor veel starters is onze huidige woonplaats helaas niet betaalbaar voor ons.

Wij wonen op dit moment in Leidsche Rijn en zijn erg tevreden over de voorzieningen hier voor jonge gezinnen - zowel voor kinderen alsook voor jonge ouders. Daarmee bedoel ik dus niet alleen kinderopvanglocaties, scholen en speeltuinen, maar vooral ook kindvriendelijke horeca voor ouders, de bibliotheek, sportlocaties en parken.

Afgelopen week zijn we naar Galecop geweest en de rust en woning beviel ons erg goed. We weten ook dat de verbinding naar Utrecht erg goed is. Alleen merken wij als ouders met fulltime banen en zonder hulp van familie dat de invulling van onze vrije tijd samen (sporten, ergens even koffie drinken, wandelen) zich vaak moet beperken tot activiteiten op loop- of korte fietsafstand. We twijfelen of Galecop/Nieuwegein dat te bieden heeft.

Ervaringen hiermee worden erg gewaardeerd!
