Does anyone know how you would remove the modem in a 23 Taos?

I have a 2024 Taos SE and the city mileage is not as advertised. It’s supposed to get 30mpg city, and I’m lucky if I get 24. I use regular gas per the manual. Any thoughts or ideas? Is there an eco mode I’m missing?

I have a 25 Taos SE Black which has Lane Assist. When enabled, the vehicle bounces off the lane markings like a bowling ball with the bumpers down. Honestly looks like a barely in control drunk driver.

I’ve read the term lane centering in connection with my Taos. This sounds like the bowling ball is going down the middle of the lane, no bumpers required.

Are these really two different things or just two similar things going by different names?

I’m getting TERRIBLE fuel mileage, like a 5km drive will run me 20km worth of fuel. I don’t drive it hard, I let it warm up, and I keep it maintenanced. My car will run anywhere from 12.9-40.9L/100km when it should be from 7-9. For reference I have a 2023 VW Taos Highline AWD (~72—-km), and I’ve already taken it to VW to get looked at and they said they couldn’t find any problems. Some days the car will run perfectly and fuel little to no fuel but other days it will run horribly and guzzle fuel. As a comparison my 3/4 ton Duramax Diesel truck runs at about 16L/100km for average mileage. Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem??

Just to add here as an edit: this car has never had any issues with anything ever, never needed repair, just bad fuel economy. The lowest I’ve ever seen my mileage after 3 years of owning it new from the dealership was 7.2L/100km.

I know they're tiny but they look expensive. Anyone buy a new set for their Taos lately?

Hoping someone can help me. I'm having the worst time finding a cable to connect my Samsung s25 to my 2022 Taos- every one seems to have issues and cut out. I kind of need Android Auto because I use maps a lot to navigate for work. I've learned not to use long ones; read the reviews carefully for another shorter cable and it worked fine for 2 months before crapping out. Bought the same kind and it won't work at all. I've had this car for about 8 months and it's the first time I've had a vehicle with Android Auto.

I have a 2022 VW Taos that I bought new and it currently has about 46k miles, only ~3 months outside the 4yr/50k warranty. I recently got a low coolant warning, check engine light, and failed emissions. The dealer diagnosed a leaking head gasket and failed EVAP purge valve, quoting about $3,500 for the head gasket and $750 for the EVAP repair. I took it to an independent VW/Audi specialist who confirmed the head gasket leak and showed me TSB 15-23-01 regarding known head gasket leakage issues on early Taos models. Both the dealership and VW corporate denied goodwill warranty assistance, partly because I didn’t do all maintenance at the dealership, even though the vehicle has been maintained and is still under 50k miles. Pretty frustrating dealing with a major engine issue on a low-mileage vehicle that appears to be a known problem. Curious if others have had success getting VW to help cover this repair outside warranty.

I bought this car as certified pre-owned about two years ago. Fastforward to the end of last year they had to replace the head gasket and now I have another check engine light - turns out it needed an "ECM update and the Evap system check" which they had to replace. I'm not a car expert but this feels like this is too much engine related issues for a car that is only 3 years? Any advice here would be super appreciated

New here, I was thinking about buying this car. But I am worried about the software problems I heard. Anyone have any experience with 2026 Taos?

So everything I preset for the left and right of the speedometer were completely blank today. I had compass on the left and I had to mileage data on the right. Both sides were able to reset all of it back to the way it was. Maybe this was the first step before it goes completely blank as the recall supposed to fix.

I'm thinking about buying a 2025 Volkswagen Taos S and would love to get some honest opinions before I move forward.

1. Is this a fair price for a 2025 Taos S with this mileage?
