Radiography GPA

I'm on schedule to finish the radiography program checklist with 45/48 points (just missing the 3 from being previous year alternate). I haven't taken the TEAS yet but I'm sure I'll do fine on it, but my biggest concern is GPA. I transferred all of my courses from my degree at UCF, giving me an overall GPA of 3.55. I have a 4.0 program GPA, but do they focus on the overall GPA? Do we know what the overall GPA of those accepted was this year?

I can't really do anything about it, but it won't stop me worrying this entire upcoming semester.

I'm confused with my History assignment and don't know how to proceed.

Well, I'm taking United States History up to 1877 and I'm really confused on how to proceed with my 700 word essay. It's asking questions for me to answer in essay format about a certain person that went to court. I get that much but every single question is about the hearing.

How can I explain this to those reading this? It feels like this assignment would have more to do with going to school to become a lawyer and the question is extremely about that more so than about history.

I get that history contains court cases that were significant but I'm having trouble seeing this assignment as a history assignment. I legitimately feel like I took the wrong class and am somehow actually studying law. Specifically law.

I'm just confused about it and there are other things that are making me feel uncomfortable about it to the point I can't do the assignment. I tried to move forward and listed all the questions it asked for in word, separating them with large spaces between questions, and answering them with the intention of erasing the questions and connecting the answers somehow but it wouldn't work. There wasn't enough to make 700 words and it just wouldn't flow.

Not sure what to do. How would you proceed from this?

What is the best VC campus?

Hi everyone, I am an international student who is looking forward to studying at VC. I would like to ask for some advice regarding the enrollment process. While filling out my application, I faced a question about choosing a campus. Since I am not familiar with any of them, I would be glad, if you could help me with this choice.

Valencia to UCF CS via DirectConnect?

Hi everyone,

I’m looking to transfer from Valencia to UCF for Computer Science and I’m still trying to understand how DirectConnect works.

Does DirectConnect basically guarantee admission to UCF as long as you earn the AA from Valencia, or does it only guarantee general UCF admission and not necessarily admission into the actual CS major?

If anyone here personally went through DirectConnect with the goal of getting into UCF CS, I’d really appreciate any anecdotes, caveats, or things you wish you knew earlier. I’m new to the Florida CC -> UCF transfer system and just trying to understand the real process before investing a lot of time into it.

Also, about the CS Foundation Exam: is it purposely designed to weed people out, or do most serious students pass within the three attempts? How risky/difficult is it realistically?

Any advice from people who’ve actually done this would be really helpful. Thanks.

HSC1531/Medical Terminology

How do/did you guys study for this class?

I'm taking it online at the moment, there is no communication from the professor whatsoever, and I have no idea what to expect on the upcoming midterm exam.

Is it mostly forming words and identifying prefixes/roots/suffixes? Or do we actually need to memorize all the various diseases, surgeries, and medical procedures for each organ system/specialization? Seems like a lot to memorize if that's the case.

Just talking

Does anyone else feel like anatomy and physiology just isn’t for them? I study for hours, but I can’t seem to memorize all the names of the bones, muscles, structures, and terms. It feels like as soon as I learn one thing, I forget three others. I’m starting to wonder if I’m just not cut out for healthcare, even though it’s what I want to do. It’s honestly making me question everything. Did anyone else feel like this in A&P and eventually get through it, or is this a sign that maybe it’s not for me?

Previous Anatomy students - what teachers to take and who to avoid?

Ratemyprofessor didn't prepare me for this professor's style. So many emails from my classmates about how there's so much to study in this class, but no clear focus or goal. We all feel overwhelmed. I'm in Jennifer Odom's A&P I class, and I wouldn't recommend this class to anyone.

Main Points:

  • weekly tests that are the biggest part of your grade
  • huge amount of shit to study that most likely won't be on the aforementioned weekly tests
  • no idea of what you're going to be tested on. often footnotes of the textbook will end up a testing value
  • lecture "materials" that are screenshots of the textbook and lecture videos that cover huge swaths of information (created by the professor or a youtuber), whereas the test is looking for super specific "what ifs?" that are not addressed in the textbook, homework, labs, etc.

We are told by our professor to start study groups, utilize the ttoring resources available, but if we don't know what we're expected to know or even have a hint...... it's moot. We will just be studying the same huge amount of information with no clear directive, and we can do that on our own.

I will most likely be retaking this class in the Fall with a different professor if I can get in. But I'm asking here and elsewhere on who to take to actually learn this material. I look at this class as an intro to A&P I because I can't imagine taking this class and feeling prepared for A&P II.

For reference, I study 4.5 hours a day. I read the textbook like a book. I'm consulting all available materials. I make notes, have note cards, and even extra anatomy books. Still get a 50% average on every test so far. It truly feels as if I'm studying for nothing.

Dental Hygiene/Radiography/Sonography Points + ATEAS

I know this gets posted all the time in this sub but I was wondering what points you got to enter either of these programs + gpa + ateas scores. I know the requirements change every year and it gets more and more competitive so Im curious how this most recent cycle went and what you guys got to get accepted. Thank you so much in advance + it would really help if you added how you studied for the ATEAS if you received a high score on it. I really want to be as prepared as possible and I know the requirements are pretty similar for the program minus one or two classes so Im curious to know how it went and what month or day you heard back as well.

VNZ 🇻🇪

Hola

Sé que Valencia tiene muchos estudiantes latinos, entre ellos venezolanos. Quisiera aportar mi granito de arena. ¿Saben si aquí están aceptando donaciones, medicamentos o voluntarios en alguna organización o comunidad en Orlando?

MAC-1105 is suddenly brutal

I was doing well and suddenly I'm hit with 3 different lessons I'm just not grasping at all. I feel like it should be extremely simple but I just can't understand it. I've read through the lessons multiple times and watched the instructional videos but when I got to the assignments it's as if nothing in them even was gone over in the videos or text.

Does anyone know what I can do to remedy this situation? I'm low on funds so can't get someone to teach me. I'm going to fail if I can't get at least a 75% on the midterm and the final. So stressful.

BSC2085C, When is the best time to look if people dropped the class.

Nothing shows up when trying to register, so I am assuming it's booked up. When are the best times to keep checking if someone drops it?

Question About CS A.A. Transfer Program

Hi,

I wanted to ask if the Associate in Arts (A.A.) be completed fully online while taking the Computer Science transfer courses? If completed online, is it considered exactly the same as the in-person A.A. for transfer purposes?

Are there any caveats or important things I should be aware of regarding transferring into a B.S. in Computer Science at a Florida university?

If anyone knows about how this plays out if trying to convert from an E2 to F1 status and whether the online option would mess things up that would also be helpful to know.

Thanks

Prof. Mestre/ Fin. Aid

I went into this, not expecting an easy a but thinking OK I’ll try my best and I should get a good grade just to see that your best effort and work is literally not rewarded with this professor. I reviewed her feedback on a recent assignment and saw that she’s literally just marking answers wrong just because, even if you went exactly by the textbook and have the technically right answer. She post assignments at odd hours with even odder due dates. She contradicts herself in the instructions and then penalize you for it. I’m so disappointed. I did not expect this to be easy and I didn’t go into it with an entitled mindset at all. I was genuinely excited to be challenged and try my best and I’m going to fail. my question is what now like how does an F affect your financial aid? I’m going to keep studying and trying for a B, but that’s like the best case scenario and to have a professor that’s actively sabotaging you. It’s hard to picture your best case scenario.
