Student ID

I’m wondering if I can already get my physical ID on campus even if my first semester’s not until Fall this year. I already registered for classes but haven’t paid them yet since Fall semester’s still a couple months away.

I just have something to do on campus and wanted to get two things done

Nursing- first semester studying help

Hey everyone, I recently started the Valencia nursing program and I’m currently taking Intro and Health Assessment. I’ve been struggling a little trying to figure out the best way to study, and I wanted to ask people who successfully graduated from the program what worked for you guys.

Right now, I’ve mainly been reading the textbook and taking notes directly from it because I feel like the PowerPoints are kind of vague, and I’m scared I’ll miss important information for the exams if I only study those. The problem is the chapters are SO long, and I honestly don’t think it’s realistic to read every single page and take detailed notes for every chapter while keeping up with everything else.

The thing is, taking notes while reading feels like the only way I really learn and retain information, so I’m feeling a little stuck trying to find a more efficient strategy.

I also saw another post where people were recommending YouTube videos and Simple Nursing, but honestly I haven’t really had trouble understanding the material so far (I know it’s still the beginning). My main issue is more the amount of time everything takes. I’m worried that if I barely have enough time to finish the readings and notes, then when would I even have time to use extra resources like Simple Nursing or videos on top of that?

Do you guys have any advice on how you studied? Did you focus mostly on the book, PowerPoints, practice questions, videos, etc.? And how were the exams compared to the textbook material? Were they heavily based on the book or more on lectures?

Any tips would honestly help a lot. Thank you!

FWS first paycheck

I started working last Thursday, and I know last week was the end of the pay period. Since this’ll be my first paycheck and the school sends the first one as a paper check, about how long does it usually take to arrive in the mail?

Anyone know if clubs are active in the summer or if there’s a table tennis/ping pong club?

I’d like to see all the clubs campus has to offer and get involved in some of them especially the sport ones(pickleball, tennis). East Campus btw

Summer Refunds

my classes don’t start until June 8… But I was told by one of the advisors that they’re taking the money April 26th. the first reimbursement is supposed to be around June 5 so will I be getting paid in June and July? Like this is so confusing I don’t understand why they just didn’t do the full summer 12 weeks for everyone.

Unable to Award Degree

I’m wondering if anyone can help me with this but I recently finished my spring semester and literally walked my graduation ceremony. So before I walked of course,
The school has been sending me emails about spring commencement and to register for spring commencement this and that blah blah blah.

I’ve registered for graduation and usually BEFORE YOU APPLY FOR GRADUATION, your degree audit must be labeled “yes” as in all requirements met.

Anyways my degree audit was labeled yes and I of course applied for Graduation and I don’t remember if they ever sent approval email.

Moving forward 1 week after the ceremony on a Friday night I get an email saying that they’re “unable to award” my degree due to not meeting a requirement and that I need to check my degree audit. I am missing one. more. class. Anyways I feel like I’m going crazy because they gave me my tickets, spammed me with emails and let me walk just for them to be like “sike.”

Lol and I promise my degree audit was perfectly fine during the spring semester. No I haven’t dropped a class or anything during that semester. I feel a bit annoyed and disappointed but I am registered for my last class.

UPDATE: I HAVE PROOF OF MY previous graduation application saying all requirements met in February 9 2026 except FCLE.

Now that FCLE is met all of sudden one requirement is not met

"My education plan" question

Hi guys, theres been something on my mind for a while about the my education plan and I wanted to ask a question about it on here. How accurate is the education plan supposed to be? Because I noticed for my electives on the degree audit it shows I have 13 hours completed, but on the education plan it shows I have 11. I also included 2 screenshots to show the classes they count as electives on both. But also to keep track of my class hours do I just use the degree audit entirely?

Nursing Uniform

Hi guys! I made my order on 04/08/26 and I only received one item and the rest was back ordered. Last night I received an email saying I dont have enough funds so the order is cancelled! I paid out of my pocket and the card was originally charged for the total amount of all items. But after their email yesterday I got refunded the rest of the money.

Did anyone face similar issue? I keep calling them and emailing them but they do not answer

Nursing School

I will try to keep it brief. Looking at trying to get into an ASN program. Went to school at Valencia 4 years ago but dropped out. I have college algebra as my last prerequisite and I have to take the TEAS. My overall GPA is 2.5 because I failed all my classes my last semester in school and couldn’t take withdrawals :/ my prerequisite GPA is 3.1. Are there any ASN programs that would likely take me if I got an 85+ on TEAS? I am looking for anywhere in the Orlando/Tampa area.

A&P1 over Summer

Hi, I’m looking at taking nursing prereqs and want to take A&P1 as soon as possible so I can take A&P2 and Microbiology after as well. Has anyone taken it over an 8 week summer term, specifically with Jason Hendershot? My advisor recommended saving it for Fall and working on other prereqs instead, and since I’m considering applying to the UCF program, I might replace it with General Biology I since I believe it can be a prereq for their program and it is an alternative prereq for Microbiology if I don’t take A&P1 over the summer. If anyone has been accepted into UCF nursing please let me know as I have some questions!

Locked Out of Canvas Because of the Ongoing Security Situation

Hey everyone,

Wanted to bring something up that might be affecting more than just me.

With everything going on surrounding the Canvas security incident, Valencia College has apparently blocked new logins for students across the board. If you were already signed in, you're good (seemingly), but anyone who wasn't is locked out.

This is becoming a real problem for me and a friend who are both in the process of transferring. We had planned to reach out to previous professors for recommendation letters, which means we needed to find names and emails and course codes to write email requests. I was fortunate and had a tab still open in Chrome, but my friend didn't, and as far as I know there's no easy way to find professor names tied to past courses through My VC alone.

If anyone knows of an alternative way to pull up that info, drop it in the comments. It would be a huge help.

Appreciate whoever is taking the time to read this, even if you don't have a fix.
