Let's say that he doesn't magically get a lynchpin (that's high level copium but considering Mitya's shenanigans not impossible) and cannot be a limited 5-star electro without one. Would you be satisfied with him being a 5* standard character? Even if it meant he was postponed and released after 7.3.

Let's say I wanted to make him a dps if he's a four star support. Is Odette that valuable or is cryo traveler enough? Assuming his kit revolves around stellar conduct, of course

For my fellow Mr. Door lovers here is my mentality to deal with the injustice. I hope it may help a Valeriy wanter in dire need.

1: Valeriy is actually designed to work with Mitya! (At least from the leaks) Unlike Nefer and Jahoda whom released literal months apart. Despite literally being in every Archon quest in nod krai and being with her boss Jahoda is almost unplayable in Nefer teams. As unlike the other two nod krai carries Nefer is the most restrictive. But here is the good part. Jahoda is especially garbage on Nefer teams because of a system that is DISCONTINUED. The moon sign system! If anyone needs a reminder it is a system that makes it mandatory to have at least one non moon sign(nod krai) character. And because nefer benefits WAY more from having Columbina and Lauma (cuz moondews or whatever) than the other nod krai dps Jahoda is kinda just screwed.

2: flexibility!! If we stop being consumed by the meta an electro shielder that buffs EM is actually rather flexible. Not the most efficient but usable in many areas. Some char are restricted to just shield *cough Wriothesley*, he can be used as a replacement for ineffa on Flins teams, and if the high electro application is true he can be an on field driver (hyper bloom or something). And if we are going to play future impact the rumored dendro reaction has electro in it (at least it did in theater). And what would dendro reactions be if they didn’t work with elemental mastery. This is just extra stuff he can be used in as his meta usage is most definitely Mitya but for those who just want to explore or don’t like Mitya (how could you!) there are options.

3: mentality towards Hoyo’s treatment of men and 4 stars: we know it’s shit. Cuz why on gods green earth is there 2 super conduct 4 star sustain males??? No stellar swirl 4 star!?!? Like sure some people don’t have c6 diona and beidou heck I have more cons on qiqi than I have cons on both 4 stars combined! But still! On another note some people are complaining about Flins being the weakest Nod krai dps and out of the 3 being the only male. But… well there’s only 3. It was going to be imbalanced. And on the point of being the “weakest” yes number wise that’s true but I think he is arguably the most versatile. He is electro so he can slot in cryo and use stellar conduct for the weaker Stella shill bosses and he has the most bosses in Stygian. (Not sure if Zibai or Nefer can just slot others as easily). And for dire Stygian this level of power is more than enough. And this goes for ineffa as well. If you hate Flins don’t pull him and play bineffa. If you hate bina use Aino, if you hate ineffa just use Fischl Durin or something (that’s what I do. I don’t hate ineffa). I just used the extra pulls on getting C1 (which makes him WAY more fun). Now coming back to Mr.door I think we are all disappointed he isn’t 5 star. But I honestly like a flexible 4 star where I can just put in a lot of places than a 5 star that can only play 1 niche or a 4 star that is literally restricted into playing one archetype (Chevreuse).

Tips: save them standard wishes for Mr.Door! I got my first ororon from standard and I literally jumped. It’s a hella low chance but it’s possible!

And here is my question! I’m not a honkai star rail player but I’ve heard they stopped releasing 4 stars. In exchange they add a lot more events that people need to do get the premium currency. Do you think that would work for Genshin?

I hope everyone doesn’t get shafted by the 4 star gacha and gets our big bear Valeriy! If the shield or Em is on C6 y’all… just fuck me with a toothbrush.

Which other two units would go well here? Seems clear one would be a Cryo off field which could be Odette, Tsaritsa?, Escoffier, followed by a EM buffer like Sucrose or another dps like Yae, Tsaritsa. No sustain like Danica or Qiqi due to Valeriy's shield.

Also, if anyone would like to advise on my personal situation: I'm in doubt whether to pull or not for Odette versus invest more in Valeriy and Mitya (like C1). I'll probably pull for Tsaritsa anyway and she may overlap with Odette. No Yae but I have C1 Wriothesley, soon C2. Any help is appreciated.

So at c6 he has a shield that gives buffs for stellar and an em buff...

Is he an on field driver then for mitya? Im not sure how the shield fits into it.

It seems strange to have a character who focuses on a shield that isnt a support or sustain..

I do fear he will receive the Alyosha treatment.

What do you guys make of this?

These are leaks so obviously might change but the one providing them has 100% track record apparently so do with this what you may.

Mitya has some sort of direct and reaction damage altering gimmick to him as per one of the leaks.
They also said Valeriy is a substitute for tsaritsa in a mitya team.

From this, my theory is that Mitya might be able to enable ssc without needing a cryo aura or his direct ssc damage becomes reaction damage as long as on field character is cryo or electro. I’m saying this because Valeriy can’t substitute a cryo dps (as per leaks) while being an electro unit in an ssc unless we use him in a wheelchair with mitya-odette.

Also they’ve been saying he has a shield, 20% buff and 120 EM at c6… could that mean he doesn’t have a shield at c0? 20% buff and 120 EM seem next to nothing for a c6 character. I think that’s the case because if he is the on field character it makes sense to make him tankier at c6 by giving him a shield.

The reason I’m assuming that Mitya has such ability is because it would make no sense to have a dps with on field abilities at low investment and use him as an off field and creating a dedicated 4 star for said off field abilities just to replace him in a patch. Honestly atp I wouldn’t be surprised if hoyo did that but this feels so wasteful even for a 4 star. I mean it would have been a different story if mitya can’t be on field but unless his off field damage when paired with valeriy is higher, it makes no sense to use him off-field but they themselves said it’s not that good.

For someone with a 100% track record, they sure made very contradictory statements.
